Since installing Firefox 65 on my mac, an annoying blue dropdown box appears every time I search using the URL bar (Awesome Bar?). I can't tun it off. Please see attached screen shot. Prefs/Search/Provide Search Options box is unchecked. about:config/browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled is set to False. I would really like to turn it off. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

After updating to Firefox 65 (Mac), there is now this enormous green drop-down that appears whenever I start typing in the address bar, and I cannot turn this thing off.

I've looked in Preferences > Privacy & Security > Address Bar, and all the selections there are unchecked. Search > Default Search Engine > Provide Search Selections is also unchecked.

Is there something in about:config I need to toggle? Or will I have to edit my userChrome.css to turn this off?

I did some extensive googling to rid myself of this stupid "feature", but none of them has brought me any luck. How do I permanently delete this? I don't want it to give me any suggestions, nor do I want it to search. If I wanted to search I'd visit Google. All I want my adress bar to do is exactly nothing, except being there.

I've tried deleting the search engines in tools, or options or whatever it is you call it, one by one but it refuses to let me delete the last one; as though there MUST be an annoying search engine enabled. Please help me remove this, by force if needed.

One of the reasons I hate upgrading Firefox is that every new version brings a host of anti-features.

Starting in 65.0, whenever I am typing into the address bar, one (blue) or two (blue and black) bars drop down (depending on how much of the address I have typed) offering to either search or go to the address bar contents.

I DON'T WANT THEM!!!!!

How do I get rid of them?

Since the start of Firefox Quantum release, when I returned to Firefox I've had issues with Firefox closing itself randomly on page loads - sometimes it can happen right after I start browser, sometimes once a day, completely random, haven't noticed any patterns.

I've tried to google and look into this forums, I've seen people reporting similar issues (but not lately) and I've tried various fixes suggested here and there, for example:

- Disabling all extensions

- Disabling Hardware Acceleration

- Reseting my profile

- Reinstalling Firefox

- Heck I've even reinstalled my Windows

Not once has the closing triggered crash report.

I don't have any similar issues with any other software on my computer so it must be something Firefox specific. I've monitored my PC resource usage, thought maybe somehow it hogs up all my CPU, RAM or disk and that makes it close - nope, same haeppens even when CPU usage is 20%, RAM 12 of 32GB, disk 0-5% (SSDs) etc.

Honestly I'm out of ideas what to try and if we somebody can't help me find a solution I sadly may have to abandon Firefox once again (which I really would not like to do)

Firefox shows a PDF invoice provided by my internet bank. The PDF is readable on screen but when I print it out, all the text is scrambled (see enclosed scan). What happens? I have to go the long way and download the document and read it with Adobe Acrobat Reader and print from there to get it right. Or I can use Chrome, from there it will print OK.

I noticed a few months back that Firefox quantum 65.0.2 (64 bit) uploads are extremely slow. A 186kb image that is uploaded instantly in Chrome or Firefox developer edition (65.0b11 64 bit) takes about 30-45 seconds in quantum, a 900kb image jumps to 14% when I hit upload, then super slowly climbs up by 2%-4% at a time, finally finishing the upload 3 minutes later, and by the time the upload finishes the google captcha I entered has expired and it tells me to retry the upload. The same 900kb image uploads in 2 seconds on chrome and firefox dev. Also some websites like twitch.tv are super slow to load, not even a video stream, the homepage takes about 20 seconds to load, then another 30 seconds for the video to start playing, while the site loads and starts playing the homepage video within a few seconds on chrome and firefox dev. I've tried everything, launching firefox in safe mode, reinstalling firefox and trying with no plugins, switching between system proxy settings and no proxy. Is there anything else I can try? Super annoying having to launch chrome every time I need to upload something.

When I select 'Compose', the options 'To:', 'CC:', and 'BCC' appear as usual, but when selecting any one of them, the next screen is blank (with a closing 'X' at upper right). I can list my 'Contacts' though so it still seems to be intact. Today (3/07) is the first time for a couple of days I have tried to 'Compose'. I have cancelled FireFox and then restarted but it did not change. Why does my list not appear in the 'Compose' section.

Every time I have a series of windows open, I want to restore the whole session when I re-open.

However, say I have 5 windows open: if it gives the option to "Restore Session" in the main window, Firefox will only restore the last 3 windows and will not store any other windows in 'recent windows' or 'recent tabs'. If it gives an option to "Restore Session" it doesn't store anything in the 'recent windows/recent tabs' drop-down. If it DOESN'T give an option to "Restore Session" it will only store the last 3 windows in the 'recent windows' section and nothing in 'recent tabs'. If I chose to "Restore Session" or open 'recent windows' it does not re-enter those windows into my current history.

The combination of the above problems is making Firefox unusable for me.

Why is this happening? Chromium does not have this issue, but I would prefer to use Firefox for the customization and general aesthetic of the interface.

At one point with this new firefox headache I managed to get my tabs on bottom but I had to do a refresh in order to get into my outlook email cause of a glitch.

Now I can't manage to get my tabs to go under the address bar. I did the whole chrome folder with the userchrome.css thing but I still cant get my tabs to go below my address bar.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this?

Its driving me up the wall not being able to have the browser how I want it.

Updated Firefox to 65.0.1 yesterday now a number of websites do not work including firefox support site (Will not let me log in, had to download Opera just to post this issue.)

Examples include Facebook not loading all content or allowing me to follow links (Links do not work at all.)

Youtube can't play single videos (Again acts like link is not a link.) Playlists will somewhat work if you right click and open link in a new tab but only play about 5-10 seconds of a video before moving to a new one for another 5-10 seconds of play while also taking a lot longer than normal (more than the usual 2-3 seconds from before the upgrade) to start the next video link 10-15 seconds.

Would add info from "about:support" but it will not allow me to attach a pdf (The only way I can do that since "Automatically add" button reqires using Firefox and I can't right now(Not logging in.)

Most other sites I have tested are missing content or links randomly work or not with no real reason, at least any that I can figure some work some don't and some work some times but not others.

I have done a full un-install and re-install to see if that had any effect and it did not. Also this is the only change to my computer in a little over a month, just the update to Firefox 65.0.1.

Stable at 65 for some weeks, but refuses to update now from the "splash screen" (which announces which version I have) ... never got any post-65.0 updates; should I have?

Updated to version 65.0.1. All bookmarks erased when restarted and bookmark backups will not load, so how do I restore my bookmarks?

Firefox upgraded to version 65.0.1 (32-bit) and when I reopened it after the upgrade, every bookmark on my Win10 PC has been erased.

Built up over 8 years of only ever using Firefox, there were a couple of thousand bookmarks. Following the upgrade, every single one of them has been deleted and even though I have a dozen or so backups listed as available to be restored but none of them work.

Instead of the expected restore, I receive this message when I try to load the backup file: Unable to process the backup file.

In other words, the latest update erased every bookmark from the sidebar, and despite there being a backup file, I cannot load it so I have now lost every site link I had saved, and there is no way to restore them because Firefox cannot read the backup file.

So the question is: Where can I find my bookmarks and how do I restore them?

I like having my local HTML file as a homepage which gives me links to my favourite sites. However, Firefox doesn't seem to support loading a local homepage in a new tab. I have attempted to resolve this by setting up a server and using the My Homepage addon which kind of workds, but it's extremely slow and cumbersome.

Would be very grateful if someone had a better idea.

I had the two factor authenticator add-on installed in Firefox and a version update disabled that add-on. This add-on has CRITICAL information stored in it. How do I re-enable this add-on while retaining the data in the add-on? It would be nice to have a warning before a new version installed that it was going to do something like this...

Is it legal for Mozilla to allow Facebook to monopolize the entry of community comments or feedback regarding the zero percent Credit Card offers? I have 3 of the cards offered to the public and want to share what happens with credit card billings where balance transfer/s have occured so that those seeking the credit card woukd know to expect as none of what I wish to contribute is nasty or inflamatory. And I do not nor will subscribe to any Social Media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Skype and etc. Facebook is trying to force persons wishing to respond to logon to their website after writers try to leave a comment! That's a "no, no, and no! Facebook dies not iwn Mozilla (mobile phone messaging) or the advertising messages presented by the banks. I'll be danged uf they are going to hornswaggle me into owning my public comments as Between my spouse and self are responsible credit card holders for six of the cards!!
