Before the recent update, 19.0, I would google something and see [PDF] next to a link. I click the middle mouse button to open it in a new tab. Firefox would download the file and open it with Adobe Reader. I like this.

With the new update 19.0, the pdf file would be opened in the new tab. I have to go and down load it and then open it in Adobe. I don't like this.

I go into preferences under applications. I look to see if I can change this. Next to Adobe Reader document, I choose Use Adobe Reader, but when I click on a [PDF] link, it still opens the file in Firefox and not Adobe.

I want it back to the way it was.

I am having difficulty accessing my bank's website, www.usbank.com. When I try to go to it, FF just sits there "Waiting for www.usbank.com...", but never gets to it. I've tried the following:

- Uninstalled/reinstalled FF. - A different user profile on the computer. - Cleared cache, history, etc. - Restored FF to default. - Scanned for malware, viruses, etc. - Run FF in Safe Mode.

The site pops up fine if I use Chrome or IE and works fine with FF on my laptop, so I know this is a computer specific thing.

At this point, I'm at a loss on how to fix this. Any suggestions?

I have a number of documents I want to embed in webpages for easy access. These are PDFs generated with pdftex locally under MikTeX. They use Adobe Minion Pro font. They render flawlessly in Adobe Reader, Sumatra, PDFXchange, and in Chrome (with its built-in viewer). They are also fine in APV PDF Viewer (MuPDF library) and PDF to GO (Documents to Go) on Android . . . you get the idea. But in Firefox they render interspersed with random characters. Example pdf and screen captures available (I don't see a way to post them).

In the meantime I've replaced the PDF.js with the Adobe Plug-in which fixes the issue for me. I'm concerned about others who may visit the site with Firefox as the default setting leaves these documents all but unreadable. Must I alter them to use a different font in order to preserve compatibility with pdf.js? Minion is widely distributed and well regarded (and not cheap) it would require significant adjustment to the formatting as well . . . Please advise.

Hi, would anyone know why my content is shifted when switching between the IE and the Firefox browser. Even the background image is messed up. Not sure what’s happening. Could someone take a look at www.toxicdiesel.com and let me know what they think would be causing this problem. I just don't see anything in my .css codes that would be incompatible with the Firefox browser.

I attempted to install a media player the other day and it was crap and I started to feel sketchy about it, so I uninstalled it completely from my computer. But when returning to firefox I noticed that three new extensions had been added. I disabled all three, but only one had the option to remove it. The other two are still in my add-ons manager. They are not enabled, so not causing a problem (I hope), but would like to remove them. (GoPhotoIt is the main one I've read about all over the internet). I tried to follow the manual uninstall instructions, but there is no file in the extensions folder that matches the IDkeys listed in the "troubleshooting information" panel. (The same extenstions were on Chrome, but that was very easy to trash all three in, for some reason FF isn't making it so easy). (Notice: no "remove" option: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/xaraan/ScreenShot2013-02-24at102511AM_zps325da890.png)

SUPPOSEDLY this issue was solved; it wasn't, not by any of the answerers. I solved it. I tried Search Reset 0.2 and found that it did NOTHING. Same problem: Every time you open a new tab, Bing opens the accursed thing (I blame Mozilla because when I installed the package I got from their site, it informed me during installation that it was optimized for Bing and I LOATHE Bing and was pissed because no non-Bing alternative was offered), NOT the default New Tab page with recently used page panes on it. I removed a disabled toolbar incompatible with this newer version of Firefox, uTorrent Community Toolbar, and Webroot toolbar (keep in mind that the Search Reset is supposed to be a No Restart Required add-on). I restarted, opened a new tab, and was gratified to see NO BING BULLCRAP.

One might argue that this was covered and closed already. Not exactly, not specifically. Generalities are NO GOOD for specific problems. I can't explain WHY this worked, because NONE of the toolbars had anything to do with Bing, and none of the toolbars in question had been active (uTorrent Community Toolbar had been removed in Control Panel> Programs & Features, yet still showed up in Firefox's toolbars list; this seems to happen with Firefox sometimes).

I don't need an answer...NOW, but I think a few others might find this works for them. For a variety of reasons, not everyone will get the same results, or even SEE this problem on their systems. I would have added this to the question that didn't satisfy me, but someone CLOSED it.

When I watch a video with Mozilla Firefox on sites like YouTube, Google Video or Bing Video in full screen the taskbar shows at the bottom of my screen and doesn't disappear like it does in Internet Explorer. How do I watch videos in full screen without the taskbar showing? It's not a website problem, it's not a Windows problem, it only does this on Mozilla Firefox's browser. All three websites play perfect full screen video on the Internet Explorer browser with no taskbar showing at the bottom..

Ever since my Hotmail account was upgraded to Outlook, the file attachment button doesn't work. The arrow doesn't even turn into a hand - it's as if Firefox doesn't even see it. It works fine in IE, but I prefer to use Firefox. I have seen various people offering solutions such as getting the latest version of Silverlight or disabling it, removing Adblocker and installing Webmail Adblocker instead. I have tried all these options and nothing works.

Surely this is an issue with Firefox that needs to be resolved. Until then I would like a work around solution.

Win 7 Home 64 bit. 8 gig ram. AMD Athlon. Have tried (on every newer version) re-setting & starting in safe mode, disabling all add-ins etc but the same problem. 19 runs happily with zero issues with the plug-ins shown below. I try sending fail logs to support but they fail - maybe because i don't have email set up on this pc...

Cannot send this using a newer FF version due to the constant crashes.

I had been running Firefox 19 for a few days with no issues, just stopped working with MSN and the screen just froze? I tried MSN with Internet Explorer and had no issues? I tried disabling the plug ins and Java, but no use? The only way I can use Firefox is to use a different homepage, then there are no problems.

I hope my laptop is covered under this category. I didn't see one for laptop, so I chose desktop.

I don't recognize this icon, , I tried to download a Win rar app earlier. Norton said it was safe, but when I opened Mozilla two new windows would load right away with pop up type advertising. I was sure that the winrar program loaded things I didn't authorize. I set everything back to an earlier date with a system restore, I uninstalled firefox, and google, then I downloaded firefox again, fully expecting my bookmarks etc... to be gone, but when I re-installed firefox it loaded back exactly as before I uninstalled it and google. I don't recognize this yellow parenthesis with what looks like a crown inside. The only change is that the pop up pages seem to have stopped.
