New PC - Local subfolders not displayed

I have installed tbird on a new win10 pc as imap and copied my appdata/roaming/thunderbird from the old pc. However all the subfolders of Local Folders that were created on the other machine are not displayed. The only fodlers showing under Local folders are Inbox, Trash and Outbox. All the transferred sbd files are present so the copy process was ok and the profile is identical. How do I fix this?

I am currently having problems with my Firefox browser. For example often if I type something into the google search box at the right of the address bar and hit return nothing happens until I go down and select Bing instead of the google setting. Also in hotmail (I am on a desktop) if I go to reply, the original is now ether twice. This does not happen if I use Google browser. But I prefer Firefox as I have used it for years.

My concern is if I delete Firefox and reinstall it, I may lose some of the settings or bookmarks that I have set over the years.

Any suggestions? Please simple as i am old and not computer savvy.

Your help would be so appreciated. I am currently on Firefox 107.0 (64 bit)

I am on Firefox version 102. It assures me I am up to date. My credit union insists I must be on version 107 to log in. I was able to download and install version 107, but it gives me a different icon and none of my bookmarks are there. It is like I installed it new rather than upgraded. I have no bookmarks, setting, etc.

I have been using Firefox ver. 65.0 for yeas and i'm very happy with it. Except certain sites require me to update, such as Chase.com. I have read about some users saying that they were not happy after updating and wanted to switch back to their old version. 1. how would i be able to switch back to my current version if I find I don't like the most current version? 2. Will the user interface be much different for the current version and is there a way I could just view the current user interface before downloading/installing? 3. After switching to the current version, will my settings, auto loading tabs(for email,etc), pocket list of saved articles and other settings be transferred? Since I have never asked a question before, I have no idea where your response will be found. So i have included my email just in case it is not obvious where to find your response. I got the migration to basically work, except the message filters did not get migrated, and the account password did not migrate (for the email hand-shake). Putting in the password for the email system was easy. Re-writing 200 rules, not my idea of a good evening's work.

Is there some way to get the system to read in the message filters? I have the same problem with my wife's system that I migrated over to W10. I'm going to have to re-write all of her rules as well.

I Deleted [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox]. Enterprises Policies now gone, but message hasn't changed nor can I update.

Not a newbie by far but I've never seen this happen before.

Cloned the HDD to an SSD for a client as per usual. The client calls me later stating Thunderbird opened and asks to set up an account. I log in remotely and verify all the paths in profile.ini etc. Everything is as if was before the clone of course. I can see all the folder and file structures as they should be.

Ok, I decided to mount the image of the disk and inspect the files. Looks perfect. Thought I would copy the profile and reload it into the disk as a test. That's when I got 3 errors that these files were corrupt. As follows.

\Profiles\xxxxx.default\Mail\plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com\Inbox Error opening source file: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. Code: 1392 \Profiles\xxxxx.default\prefs.js Error opening source file: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. I've talked to multiple colleagues and we are all like whats going on here? I've been at this most of the day trying to replace those files with other 'Good' files from a new install etc...I'm stumped! Does anyone have any ideas? Edit: I was using Teracopy in a Windows PE environment and that code is specific to teracopy. Thank you!

Hello, Each time a new release comes (102.4.2 actually) and I accept the upgrade, the problem reappears : it is impossible to load any mail from previously configured POP3 server (gmail or others). It is also impossible to send emails with previously configured SMTP server. In this case, the only solution I've found consists of:

 - creating a new profile.
 - configure POP3 and SMTP accounts, which now works (!).
 - transfer emails and abooks from old profile to the new one.

The profile corruption occurs during upgrade process and I think that the bug is located in this upgrade process. This is not related to a wrong security configuration or wrong password. Notice that the problem occurs on two PCs on two different locations. The common point to both these installations is that the profile is located on a NAS rather than on the default directory... I've not tried to perform a software update with the default directory. Thank you for your help. C. Capel

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

I'm using Thunderbird Version 102.4.1 on a 7 year old laptop and it's getting to the end of life with numerous driver and non responding problems. Also, it is not compatible with Windows 11. I have linked 3 Yahoo mail and 4 Gmail accounts to Thunderbird on it and they work really well. All are IMAP server settings. I have just bought a new laptop, an early Black Friday deal, and hope to set it up the same as my existing one, so when the old one dies, as it's likely to, I will still have access to the same programmes and emails.

I know I can access Gmail emails direct on any device and they are always up to date - is that called synced? What I don't know is if all email accounts will be synced or the latest - if I use Thunderbird on both laptops. If I delete an email on one device will it be deleted on the other device.

If this is possible, do I download Thunderbird on the new laptop, then set up the accounts for each email and just enjoy from there, OR do I have to copy the profile from the old device to the new one.

I love browsing, streaming etc. but hate trying to get my PC set up or sorting out problems with it. Presume I know very little if you are replying. I have never had two working laptops before so never had to worry about syncing.

A HUGE Complaint I have is Exporting Account Files, I wanted to Backup (Export) my Email Accounts (many accounts) to use on a new Thunderbird Win 11 Notebook install (I have many because I do remote IT for clients), but Thunderbird ONLY offers a selection to BU Accounts AND ALL EMAILS (Messages)!

With 12+ Email accounts and all the Emails (which I don't need since they'd be downloaded anyway with a SMTP setups), the accounts BU ends up being 6+ GB and it usually fails when I try to use the Zip File to "Import" into the new Thunderborg install !! The Thunderbird Team NEEDS to give users the option of ONLY backing up all the Account Settings, NOT INCLUDING EMAILS!! Can you give this Feedback to the Mozilla Team??

Just happend a few days ago (24/11/2022) my Thunderbird is not able to download email with large size attachment (e.g. 8Mb), it get stucked and all the emails receiving afterward cannot be downloaded to my computer. I have to go to the webmail to delete that email with large attachment, then all other emails can be downloaded. Anyone know what happen and if have any solution to this.

My Thunderbird version is 102.5.0 (64-bit). Email service provide is O365 mail by Microsoft.

p.s. Actually I have 2 computers using Thunderbird to receive emails using by 2 different person. One of the computers don't have this problem, only 1 computer have this problem cannot download large email. Both computers are able to download large size email before. Just happen a few days ago, 1 computer can download and the other computer cannot download large email. Thanks.
