I had a functioning thunderbird, but due to my host provider I had to change some of the configuration (new has (owl) suffix). This left 2 profiles. The new profile wouldn't work until I deleted the original. I did a save so I have all the files, now which ones need to be restored and where. I want everything under the new profile.

Hello guys, so my Computer crashed and was stuck in a bootloop and I needed to hard reset it. Now my Firefox passwords,bookmarks etc are gone. How can I recover them, they are very important?

Trying to transfer email accounts from old to new computer, but cannot access any messages on two accounts, both gmail, but a third has transferred correctly. One of those accounts contain additional folders accessible via the inbox. Followed instructions as shown on your transfer information page. Both Thunderbird instances are the same version. I can send and receive to the empty accounts and all others within Thunderbird. The account data is contained within the transferred Profiles/Mail folder but does not show within the program. All other data, including calendar events, have transferred successfully. Where have I gone wrong, or how can I remedy the situation?

After a recent migration of everything from an old PC to a new one, the Firefox logo does not appear in any of the HTML file icons on my new computer. They are all blank.

It apparently a problem unique to Firefox, and only involves the display of the Firefox logo. Although the icon is blank, when it is clicked, the document is opened by Firefox.

If I right-click on a blank HTML document icon and select "Properties", to the right of "Opens with:" is the Firefox logo. If I then click "OK", the Firefox logo remains in the "Properties" window, but the icon remains blank.

If I click on "Change", select "Microsoft Edge" and click "OK", the "Microsoft Edge" logo appears to the right of "Opens with:", and the HTML document icon also displays the Microsoft Edge logo.

There is a similar result when I select "Google Chrome", "Internet Explorer", or even "Notepad". The corresponding logo appears in the HTML document icons.

I have attached screenshots of old PC and new PC.

Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

I downloaded firefox yesterday on my windows 11 and I assumed that is my now my firefox browser as default, how can I tell if I have the firefox browser on my laptop?

Hello, I just installed Thunderbird 102 over a previous installation on Windows 10. I had 6 account/mailboxes. At the restart of Thunderbird, I had only 5. The account "katamail.com" is gone and I cannot see my messages. But they still are inside "E:\POSTA\Mail\pop.katamail-1.com\" . Or, at least, I hope so. There, there are the file Inbox and Sent of several megabytes. How could I recover that account? The other 5 have been read/recovered automatically... Many thanks for the support! Matteo

In the course of having my computer rebuilt, the techs had to wipe the C: drive and install a fresh, up-to-date copy of Windows 11. Needless to say, I have had to rebuild my software, one program at a time. After setting up Thunderbird, I was able to import the mail from a second machine on my network. However, that left me missing a large chunk of mail from earlier in 2023 and later 2022. In looking through all the profiles, I find that the messages whose date matches my missing mail are in appdata/roaming/thunderbird/profiles/default.sja. That directory contains two subdirectories, cache2 and mail. Under cache2 I have directories called doomed, which is empty, and entries, which has all of the messages whose dates match those that I am missing. My question is really simple -- how do I get those messages into my current user profile? I've tried the import tool, but that fails. I am at my wits end on this one. Any help would be appreciated. swapped PC today, meaning full format and everything new, tried logging in to Firefox but I'd forgotten my password so I reset it, does that mean everything saved on my account got reset?

Could I somehow verify my identity as the same user and get everything I had going on my Firefox account on a different PC back?

I had to reinstall Thunderbird due to a computer issue. Thunderbird was uninstalled then down loaded and installed. I have confirmed with Spectrum, email server provider all the correct setting for the incoming and outgoing configurations. For the incoming the are IMAP, mail.brighthouse.com, port 993, connection SSL/TLS with authentication by Auto Detect. Outgoing is mail.brighthouse.com, port 587, connection Auto Detect, authentication by Auto Detect. Thunderbird program will not connect servers, message indicates email address, password or server information is incorrect. This information with Spectrum has been confirmed twice, multiple attempts have been made utilizing Spectrum's protocol and Thunderbird will not connect to servers. The latest attempt stated "Login to server mail.brighthouse.com with username failed" and is prompting me to provide the password, which is provided correctly and confirmed by logging in directly to Spectrum email with required password. Failure continues and I have been working on this for close to 4 hours. How do I solve this issue?

I had Firefox installed as my default browser. Then it crashed and I couldn't 'repair' it. So I uninstalled then tried to re-install but each time that fails because I get a message that VCRUNTIME140_1.dll is not present

The last time I updated Firefox it forgot my open tabs and browsing history. I never want to update Firefox again so how do I disable this annoying popup about a new version? If I cannot eliminate this I will change to another browser.

Thunderbird. Trying to export filters by copying and saving msgFilterRules.dat then pasting into settings for Thunderbird on another computer. The file is greyed out and inaccessible. Advice on how to be able to copy this file from one computer and then paste it into second computer Thunderbird.

Recently changed from GoDaddy Microsoft 365 to Gmail. Changed the POP settings on both incoming and outgoing servers to match the Gmail settings. Whenever I check email, it pops up a Microsoft 365 login window. I cannot find any references to the old MS365 settings in the Thunderbird account setup.

Any ideas? are there hidden settings someplace I need to change?

We have a proxy server and requested already to whitelist the https://aus5.mozilla.org & http://download.mozilla.org/ but still, we can't manage to update to the latest version. Do we have the complete lists of servers that we can add to our proxy server, to have it whitelisted?
