I have been using Thunderbird since about 2004 or 2005. It used to be somewhat instinctive to use in comparison to the current version. That's about 20 years ago. It now seems to have a minuscule amount of instinctual usability. My question / statement is where is the Tutorial. Like many products including Microsoft, make what they think are brilliant "improvements," and what they primarily do is cause confusion, frustration, greater difficulty in using the product and for many a wish they fervently pray for: "I I want my old thingamajg back."

I hadn't used Thunderbird since February of 2024 - LAST YEAR. Currently it is unrecognizable from then. I had been hospitalized with 3 stents, a pacemaker and heart valve, I'm back functioning and love life. However - It would have been simple to make a dozen short tutorials on enough things to easily do the basics. Pleading for donations and not making it simpler to use the product doesn't attract new users & make current users happier. I would be grateful if anyone can point me to some simple tutorial.

In my opinion what Thunderbird offers is too cryptic for me to process, I hope my post is noticed by a "Solver" Don't misunderstand me. I liked using Thunderbird for these many years because it was incredibly flexible, usable, and partially simple & instinctive. Today few people have the will or time to spend hours poring through help sheets that are a challenge and confusing to use.

Would appreciate your help.

I believe this problem began in 133. I've noticed that if FF is open for a few hours, it starts to develop a very noticeable input lag. For example, if I'm watching a YouTube video and hit an arrow key to advance the video, there will be a couple of seconds before the browser registers the key press. It behaves like a high CPU issue but I do not detect high CPU usage when this is happening. Restarting the browser resolves the issue for a few hours.

This is happening on Windows 11 as well as on a Mac running Sonoma.

For the past few weeks Firefox has been crashing and freezing often. Crashes are worst when trying to access Protonmail, which almost always crashes the tab instantly. Freezes happen most often when browsing Reddit, and also when watching Youtube, but crashes and freezes can happen on almost any website.

I have tried changing profiles, refreshing and uninstalling/reinstalling, but the problem persists and seems to be getting worse over time.

Here are some recent crash reports:

Is this a bug or config problem?

Occasionally, FF (Linux desktop) starts using a lot of memory. I kill tabs (sometimes it is OK to kill YouTube or X, sometimes not)

Eventually it starts impacting the system using so much memory. I terminate the FF instance. Often. More often than not. There is a separate task still running and I get the "Firefox is still running" when I try to restart. I then kill the remaining FF task via the OS or the process monitor. Then FF restarts.

Is this an issue with addons (I am running very few - uBlock Orign, and Privacy Badger and Cookie AutoDelete. Are the only ones active most of the time) Or is it an actual bug with garbage collection, and tasks getting away? Or is it an OS issue?

I tried all common troubleshooting steps: deleting cache reinstalling different settings turning off adblocker/vpn disabled efficiency in task manager and set it permanently to off in FF

I used to have 1000+ tabs in 2016 no issue. I had problem in past with Firefox using 100% CPU which now it is not using only like 50, but memory is getting full 89% i use also large page file on ssd. Problem is even when i restart firefox it is slow with low RAM usage! SO that's not it! Even 5 tabs sometimes it is slow!

It is so damn slow it drives me crazy! I tried also Quantum in past when Firefox has 100% CPU usage bug and it was only tiny bit better but still caused 100% CPU usage!

All other browsers are anti user cannot even stop Autoplay literal terrorist Firefox is only normal browser unfortunately performance compare to 2016 got absolutely abysmal! I had this problem even in-between reinstals of OS so it doesn't seem it is me. I play demanding games no issues on my PC...

Hi there,

I am using Fennec from F-Droid (build 1340020). I noticed that many Brahmic scripts on webpages are shown as boxes. I don't recall seeing this in early versions maybe years ago.

Notably all major scripts in India like Devanagari, Tamil, Telugu can not be rendered. However, Odia and Sinhala scripts are shown fine. Outside India, Tibetan script cannot be rendered either. However, SEA scripts like Thai, Burmese are fine.

Moreover, if I copy these boxes to the search bar, the actual content can be shown. The tab view can also show the title of the webpage correctly in Bramic scripts. And if I change the locale in the settings, the UI of Fennec app can also properly display the scripts.

To further debug, I went to the about:config and search for fonts. Unlike western or CJK scripts, the value of font.default of Bramic scripts is serif rather than san-serif. The default value of font.name-list of these Bramic scripts are just Noto Sans or Noto Serif. I tried to switch between serif and san-serif but got no luck.

I was wondering how to fix this issue. Thanks!

I am trying to access iDRAC 7 on a Dell Poweredge R520. On version 133.0.3 I get a An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.1.20. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR. I know that the problem is that Firefox stop supporting older versions of TLS. So I choose to also install an older version of Firefox (43.0). On that version I get a The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified error. I used to have no problems accessing iDRAC 7. Has anyone else been able to resolve this problem?
