Over the last few day the interent has been crashing with the following response - "plugin container for firefox has stopped working." Why and how can I fix this issue?

Firefox will crash and say NOT RESPONDING at random. This happened when I updated to 6. I don't want to have to break into my system to make it work when Firefox 5 and under worked fine.

I switched to FF a few years ago and never had a problem Wonderful program. FF wanted to upgrade to V7, and it installed fine. Since then, FF locks up every five minutes so bad I have to reboot. My email locks up, yahoo freezes, and I cannot type more than 5 letters in a chat without lockup. Somehow, your annoying help section tries to blame this on other programs!

I upgraded to Firefox 3.6.4 and when I opened the browser a window came up: Plugin Container for Firefox stopped going on. If I close that window,the firefox closes immediately,If I dont close it,i can use it on several websites but not every! How could I fix this plugin container thing?

Firefox 14 crashes when home page is set to google.com I have always had google.com as the home pages. everything was ok till this morning. as soon as i start the fire fox with Google as home page it crashes. On my other computer it has no problems at all. I can change the default settings to what I have always used but as soon as I change the home page it crashes and forces me to change all my settings to the default before I can use it again. i dont get any crash ID either.

Whenever I try to open Firefox, it crashes and won't open. Keep getting the crash reporter. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice but it didn't help. Followed instructions on your site for disabling add-ons and turning off hardware accerlation. Firefox doesn't crash in Safe Mode. I'm using the latest version of Firefox with Windows XP. Thanks

When accessing option: "Personal Banking" at "www.onlinesbi.com" Firefox 3.6.8 crashes. ERROR CONSOLE displays "www.onlinesbi.com : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555". OS: Windows Vista Home Premium SP-2.

I have Windows Vista w/service pack 2/Windows Media Player 11/Adobe Flash Player PlugIn etc all updated. When trying to play Roadrunner video my Internet connection freezes up: also when browsing safe web sites etc. Also, cannot play Roadrunner Radio in Firefox, only works on Internet Explorer. Time Warner Cable cannot solve this issue. Please tell me what I can do. i really prefer Mozilla Firefos for my Roadrunner service overall, but need to work out these issues.

Just recently---about a week,I'm experiencing extreme slowness, and crashes. Also, it seems the computer---an old one, just keeps running or looking for something, even though it seems I'm at the website and it doesn't need to do this? This used to not be a problem, but now it is. From a novices point of view, It just seems the computer wants to keep computing when it probably doesn't need to? I keep getting the two messages: Firefox not responding---associated with the little hour glass, and unresponsive script. These are the message's I get when things get slow and "unresponsive". Hope someone can help. I do try to keep up with the computer maintenance; hard disk, and defragging. But, that makes no difference. I have noticed though recently, that when I do clear space on my hard disk, I keep showing a lot of space can be cleared compared to normal? Thank you.

• Tried many, many times in the last months to update from 9.0.1 to 10.0.0/10.0.1 etcetera, also after deleting the old version before installing the newest. Crashed continuously even in safe mode.
• Went back to 9.0.1 without problems.
• Today tried again several times to update, to 11.0. Same endless story ......
• Program makes NO crash reports; not even a directory Submitted; only a few very old ones in Pending - deleted these via Explorer (not possible in about:crashes).
• Restarting with the same crashes [although now 3 Tabs on Mozilla open, still stable!].

These crashes have made me loose very much time.

System: 10 year old Intel Pentium IV 1,8 GHz, 1 GB, more than enough disk space on Win XP SP3 updated until now, scanned with Avast! Virus Free version 7.0 with latest definitions.

Your help is much appreciated: I do NOT want to be exposed to any safety riscs with an old version, or switch to MS IE or Google Chrome.

I've been using Firefox 3.6.x and 4.0.x beta side-by-side without problems, using separate profiles and the -no-remote startup option.

Until recently, when I installed Minefield. Now both Minefield and Beta are crashing almost immediately after startup. For a long time, both have been crashing automatically after the startup pages finished loading.

Now Minefield seems a tiny bit more stable and only crashes as soon as I interact with it (switching active tab, resize window, load an URL). Another difference I notice is that Minefield (4.0b7pre) no longer checks for plugin compatibility, while Beta (4.0b5) still does this. After this check, Beta gives an error "The operation can not be completed because of an internal failure. A secure network communication has not been cleaned up correctly", while Minefield just starts.

All versions work fine in Save mode, even after the "The operation can not be completed" error in Beta...

I've also tested with newly created profiles, but did not see anything different there.

My Firefox has been crashing randomly and frequently for over a month now. I have tried running Firefox with all my plugins disabled but it still happens. I have tried using older Firefox versions but to no avail. My Windows has all the updates installed and I have done full system scans for viruses and spyware. When using Chrome I have no issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Firefox crashes on opening with immediate werfault.exe. I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 32-bit with upgrade that preserved files & programs. Everything works but firefox. I've tried uninstall/install, uninstall & extensive removal of all remaining mozilla/firefox files and cleaned registry with regedit all relevant instances of firefox. then reinstalled but still failed in the same way.

Firefox crashes unexpectedly when loading some pages. It does not crash on specific pages. It will crash unexpectedly on any website.

I have settings set to send reports to Firefox, but I have never received a response or fix. 

I tried fixing the problem using the knowledge base. It did not fix the problem.

only new events, firefox updated from 11 to 14 and flash updated. first firefox crashed then had to reboot and it asked me if i was ok with deleting data, i did delete all except bookmarks. next time i got this message, didnt work. now when i try to open it it says this

I already did a clean install removing the mozilla folder entirely and I believe all the settings (since i asked for this during reinstall). still cannot open firefox.

Firefox crashes every time when I enable a flash plugin. It started today after an automatic attempt of updating shockwave. I've uninstalled flash and installed it again. Still the same story. There are no previous version of flash available on adobe site. What should be done?
