In the latest version 148, the moment I enter the login credentials for a second Yahoo account and click continue, Thunderbird simply copies the mail folders from the first Yahoo account and does not show the mails/folders for the second yahoo account. This is despite the fact that Thunderbird displays the correct name for the second Yahoo account as well as the correct username for the second Yahoo account in the account settings. I have tried: 1. Setting the 'mailnews.oauth.usePrivateBrowser" to True in the Config Editor. 2. Deleting and adding the second Yahoo account after restart of Thunderbird as well as restart of the PC. 3. Manually configuring the account settings while adding the second Yahoo account.

Please advise what else I can try. Thanks and Regards

Four accounts: Rogers Yahoo, Office365, GMX, and a second Yahoo account

When Thunderbird recently asked to access to my provider's server, I gave my Rogers Yahoo account and password; everything looked fine. But when I tried to use my second Yahoo email account, all the folders contained the same data as the Rogers Yahoo account, even though the email addresses were different; my original emails were gone from the Inbox and other folders.

So I began to follow the instructions in Mozilla's page "OAuth2 Authentication for Yahoo, AOL and ATT". 1) with Config Editor, changed "mailnews.oauth.usePrivateBrowser" to TRUE 2) checked for "Accept cookies from sites" in Privacy & Security settings 3) checked authentication settings: All Outgoing servers were set to "OAuth2", as well as Yahoo and Office365 incoming servers. The GMX incoming server was set at "Normal Password" with no option for "OAuth2". 4) I am in Canada and do not use VPN. 5) Finally, I deleted the second Yahoo account (tc2002ca) and all its data from Thunderbird. I logged into Yahoo! Mail online to make sure I had the correct password. I then added tc2002ca as a new account using manual configuration. I entered all the settings to match the Rogers Yahoo account, except (of course) the password which was associated with the tc2002ca account. The result: same as before - all the folders of this account were identical to the Rogers Yahoo account.

To summarize, all the settings in the two Yahoo accounts were the same (imap.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com) except the passwords. When I "tested connection to server" in each case it came back "Successful". Please help me get back to having two Yahoo accounts in Thunderbird, as I have had for years. By the way, I have had no problem using SeaMonkey in a similar way. Thanks!

I previously had a Firefox account registered with my original email address. Recently, I changed the account’s primary email by adding a secondary email address, switching it to become the primary email, and then removing the secondary email address.

After completing this change, I attempted to create a new Firefox account using the original email address that was previously associated with my account. However, during the sign-up process, I receive the error message: "Primary account email required for sign-in."

It appears that the original email address may still be linked to the previous account in some way, preventing it from being used to register a new account. I would like to understand why this is happening and how I can free the email address so it can be used to create a new Firefox account.

tried Click the blue “Settings” button at the bottom of the home screen. 2. A new left sidebar appears. 3. In that sidebar, click Account Settings. • This is the real place where accounts can be removed. 4. Now you should see a window with your email account listed on the left. 5. Click the top line of your email address (not Server Settings, not Copies & Folders). 6. Look at the bottom left corner. 7. You should now see Account Actions ▾. 8. Choose Remove Account. tried ✔️ Do this to reveal “Account Actions” 1. Look again at the left column. 2. Find the line that shows your actual email address. • It will NOT say “Email.” • It will NOT say “Local Folders.” • It will look like: yourname@provider.com 3. Click that line once. 4. Now look at the bottom left corner. 5. You should now see: Account Actions ▾ 6. Click it → Remove Account.

TBird Set Up - Getting it right the first time (Keep some, but not all email on server, while keeping all email locally)

Hello! I want to set up TBird to: 1) Get all my messages and attachments stored locally, and... 2) Remove *most* of the above from gmail's server to avoid the data limit, but... 3) Keep, perhaps some months or a year of activity on gmail's server so I can access recent items from wherever.

Questions: 1) I have 10s of thousands (more?) of msgs, many with attachments. Is it better to just set up TBIrd and let it grab all the messages, or start by using Google TakeOut? 2) I presume I use IMAP vs. POP? 3) To preserve messages on my harddrive, I could archive to a local folder. Then I could safely delete those same messages on the gmail web interface? 4) If this turns into a disaster, can I just remove the entire account from TBird without suffering a loss of my entire email history? 5) Any insurance maneuvers to prevent the disaster of accidentally losing my entire email history while attempting to set this up? (Obviously will need to be religious about backing up my own system, though keeping a year of email on the gmail server offers a bit of insurance once the set up is successful.)

I am really hoping to avoid creating a unholy mess of my email/spending a week trying to fix it. (Indeed, I have avoided this project for years for this reason, but I really, really want to do this.)

I've been using Thunderbird for a long time and I keep my old accounts linked to different providers. One of these accounts, which I keep as an archive, sends me a password request to connect to its server, but it's linked to a provider I'm no longer subscribed to. So this password request message keeps appearing and prevents me from reading messages in my current account. What can I do to keep it as an archive so I can read old messages without it reactivating?

I would need a tool to complement Thunderbird, a kind of viewer that would allow access to inbox files without having to reinstall it.

Thank you for your advice.
