Wanting to take one of my several email accounts offline. It's a club chairman account and someone else is taking over. I don't (yet) want to lose the history of past emails.

The online manual says to use 'Advanced Settings', but I can't find anything that looks like the images or that has similar tabs or sections. Where is it on Thunderbird under Ubuntu?

Hi,

I had a couple of old work accounts through Google Workspace a couple of years ago. I deleted the accounts from Thunderbird when I left the positions.

Now, whenever I log in to Thunderbird, Google access login pops up wanting access to my old accounts, which I no longer have.

One of them even has the name of another person on it.

Any help on how to stop this from happening would help.

I had an emal logged in on Thunderbird, but I no longer need it/ don't have access to it. I have deleted the account from thunderbird, deleted the calender settings for the account, and also deleted the outgoing server settings for that particular account. However, Thunderbird keeps prompting me to provide the password for that account. How can I completely remove that particular account so it stops asking me to log back in to the account?

hi all

have somehow got an imap and a pop3 [version of the same acct] acct on my main pc , but they are are the same TB acct if that makes sense. suddenly ive lost all msg's in inbox.

have opened Tb in troublshoot mode but no help. i also did an "impoort" which was no help

i have 2 inboxs with associated folders [which i don't want]. i was tackleling a problem with this acct in another thread and appreciate peoples
input there, but it was not completely resolved

i suspect i need to change both accts to either pop2 or imap , preferably the one where data is kept on a server so acct is syced with my laptop pc

any help much appreciated. thanx

update: just now i did a second "Import", this was successful and recoverd my inbox msg's, but id still like some help getting back to normal, thanks

I just upgraded to V14.0.and I hate the new accounts screen. Is there away to either show the account screen with all the accounts visible (like V13.0?) or downgrade? I searched the general settings and couldn't find any way to change this. And yes, I know there's an account drop down. TIA.

Hi,

I've been using TB for years but had a hard disk crash and moved to a new machine.

Configuring TB to access my Yahoo email with Pop3 works for a while but I frequently get messages telling me that my password is wrong when it is not.

I've tried every method listed on the Yahoo website but nothing seems to be reliable. I never had this problem on my old machine but I was using an old version of TB.

Could someone please tell me how I should be configuring TB for Yahoo?

I keep getting emails warning me that my Mozilla account and data will be permanently deleted on Monday, Nov 24, 2025 unless I sign in to my account. I have responded to these warnings by signing into my account numerous times. I'm logged into my account now, as a write this on the morning of Sunday, October 23. The log of my recent Mozilla account activity confirms that I logged into my account on July 5, October 2, November 20, and November 21 of this year (2025). Besides logging into my account, I recently added information to my profile, including a secondary email, a picture, and a display name. Yet I still received a "last chance" email from Mozilla on Saturday, Nov 22, 2025, at 10:45 PM warning me that my account and data will be permanently deleted on Monday, November 24 (please see attached image). I'm concerned that my recent Mozilla account logins are not being registered, and that consequently my account and data will be permanently deleted tomorrow despite my efforts to prevent this by logging in several times and even adding information to my profile. Please stop this from happening or instruct me on how I can stop this from happening.

I wish to add a second account2@rogers.com.

The creation works fine but all of the subfolders of account1 and their content are duplicated under the new account2.

I use the auto configure option of Thunderbird to create this new account.

I'm just getting set up with Thunderbird. I used to use Postbox, and imported my Postbox profile into Thunderbird, which overall worked great – it got all my local email folders, and brought in my Apple email account, and so forth. The only wrinkle I've noticed so far is that it also created an account named "server7.invalid" that I can't delete. If I go to Account Settings, for "server7.invalid" it states "The following is a special account. There are no identities associated with it." The only items underneath it are "Spam Settings" and "Disk Space". There is no red Delete button for it, the way there is for my two real (IMAP) email accounts. Viewed on the Mail tab, it appears to contain only "Trash" and "Outbox", and both of those are empty. This weird invalid account doesn't seem to be doing any harm, but of course it is ugly and I just want it to go away. Help?

I can't access my talk talk account on my desktop anymore. Talk talk say my password has been changed correctly and that if I go in via their website I can access my email - which I can. The man on the helpdesk (actual person) said this is because it is 'controlled' by Thunderbird and he thinks I should close the account via Thunderbird and open up a new one. I am loath to do this in case I lose all my old emails. I am a 69 year old techno phobe so an easy to follow reply would be much appreciated.
