I clicked on all your links to donate and there was never any link for me to click and put my information. Why would anyone ask for donations and have no direct link and make it so difficult to find that one just gives up on donating? I have been a Thunderbird user forever. LOVE it !!! I used to have 2 email accounts underneath Thunderbird: TWC mail and Gmail. Every account worked great sending/receiving up until Feb 12. Then my TWC mail stopped replicating. Gmail account still works. Called TWC and was informed that I had to update my Master Password for my Spectrum Account. Worked with Tech Support to get me all re-established. Went into Thunderbird and still couldn't replicate. Found an answer dated 1/26/25 by teknikal at 10:44 on this Forum which sounded like exactly my problem. Called Spectrum every day trying to find the Server Engineer who could help me reset my password to no avail. Then i investigated updating my new password in the saved password of the account setting. There was only a saved password for TWC for SMTP which I updated and was able to successfully send and email from TWC to Gmail under Thunderbird. But I still can not receive emails and there is NO saved password for IMAP. So I did further reading and found my only alternative was to delete TWC from Thunderbird and re-add the account. Which I tried to do. But the configuration that replicated was mobile.charter.net which I manually changed to mail.twc.com but Thunderbird keeps telling me it can't find the server. I just got off the phone with Spectrum and my config is accurate: smtp mail.twc.com 587 starttls normal password chrismcm@twcny.rr.com imap mail.twc.com 993 starttls normal password chrismcm@twcny.rr.com Why isn't Thunderbird configuring my mail server so that I can send and receive emails ??? And now have I lost all my mail and folders since I deleted my account only to re-add it ??? I'm ready for the looney bin because I have been at this for DAYS !!! Please HELP !!! Thank you.

I had a folder called ÖgOF with a subfolder BirdLife. I renamed the folder to BirdLife-ÖgOF. After that a lot of problems occurred, e.g. - some of the other folders lost all messages - messages coluld not be moved from Inbox to some folders

Is it possible to restore the lost messages?

How do I report an issue with the way NVDA and Thunderbird interact? When I tab, I can't out of a link, and the focus does not move. If I tab to a link in a message then arrow down, I am where I expect, but then if I go to the top of the message, the tab focus remains where it was when I last hit the tab key. This is not standard behavior, but everyone else I've talked to seems to think it's behaving normally and has no tips for me on how to fix it.

I only use Thunderbird for testing with my email archiving app Mail Archiver X. What do the hex codes at the end of mailboxes mean? I have for instance:

In Thunderbird these mailboxes show up at @read and Ablage. So there are no special characters to be added or decoded like the emojis. Not all mailboxes have these hex codes. "Desktop" shows up as "Desktop".

With the latest update 136.01 whenever I click on any Thunderbird mail I get a popup screen that says "Thunderbird Email wants to access you Google account".

The screen implies there is an "Alow" link that I should click on but none exists! Then the only way out of this screen is use the esc key. That takes me back to my Thunderbird mail but anything I try to initialise thi popo up screen again. So my email account is totally unusable. Thunderbird won't remember where it was last time (windows 10 and 11). Every time I open it, it has shifted and resized a bit from the last time. It's not one monitor to another or even the other side of one screen, but it's always slightly higher or lower, slightly smaller or larger... It's just driving me nuts because everything else is perfectly positioned. Note that I am using fancy zones to do this placement, but everything else works fine.

I have recently migrated to Firefox from Chrome.

I cannot paste images (screenshots) directly into my Outlook emails.

I can insert a picture file but this is way less convenient than taking a screenshot via the Snipping Tool and pasting directly into my emails.

I cannot find any setting or configuration that would enable this functionality.

This functionality sure worked in that other browser.

I am attempting to log in to a new Mozilla Thunderbird account. I am being asked to log in with Google. (I would rather not.) When I attempt to log in WITH Google credentials, I get the message above; PAGE SIZE Pop up from Google "That's an error" "That's all we know." I cannot proceed. I cannot clear the pop up without restarting.

I have a 14 gig file downloaded from a client's google drive and want to know if I put those files into an external drive, will I still be able to open via Thunderbird software?

Should I open the zip drive first then put everthing into the external drive and THEN use Thunderbird via the external drive?

OR

Do I have to open the zip file first in my HD, and only be able to open using TB only from the HD

If there is an option as this is my first time and I don't want to mess up...Is there an option to speak or chat through the process?

We have a reliable system with V91 (32bit) that was on Win 7 and now on Win 10 (64 bit). Mail POP3 is fed through Mailwasher 7.12.188. The system is reliable and I am reluctant to update T/Bird in case everything goes pear shape. We are elderly and rely on using it for food supplies and communications etc. The program shows an update of 102 available and now a pop up message for 103. Am I likely to experience compatibility problems with a T/B update with the existing Mailwasher, lose my address book or previous/current emails and will I still be able to operate on POP3 where everything is stored on my computer? I do not use or need webmail. Thanks Sparkie82

Hi . My email messages are failing to down load . I am getting a message stating that the Thunderbird Certificate for pop3 has expired . Is there a solution for this ?

I have 2 verizon email accounts. 1 is mine the other my wife. Every so often the user name in the SMTP Server settings get switched. Mine shows my wife's and my wife's shows mine, so we get errors when tring to send any emails. I have to switch them back for everything to work. This last time I could not switch them back. I would correct mine, click OK then correct hers, click OK. When I go back to mine it would have her user name again. I tried restarting Thunderbird, no help. Restarted the computer, no help. Why does this keep on happening? And why can I not correct it this time?

Right-clicking on a page, image, link or whatnot, to copy/paste text/image/link is outright impossible. Only Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V somewhat save the day, but that's not enough.

Image attached shows the menu that pops-up after right-clicking. It's so long it doesn't fit on the page and has its own scroll-wheel within itself.

No options or help were found in the settings or on forums.

After I upgraded my system (NixOS) from 23.05 to 24.11, both Firefox and Thunderbird experience a 30 second delay between doing right click and the context menu appearing.

After clicking on a menu option, there is another 30 second delay before the menu disappears and the action is carried out.

Happens also in safe mode, and after deleting the .mozilla directory and starting from scratch.

No other GUI on the system (including non-gecko browsers) are affected.

Firefox version is 133.0.3

For the 3rd time in the past 10 months, I cannot receive or send emails through Thunderbird on my laptop. Again, a pop-up states IP address is temporarily blacklisted and another states cannot login to imap.comcast. This always happens after a Thunderbird automatic update. (Last auto-update was Jan. 22, 2025. Haven't been able to access Thunderbird email since then. Have checked settings and all are set as required. Have reset modem and router. Have deleted all junk emails. Know it's not a Comcast issue as I am getting my Comcast emails on my cell phone via my BlueMail email app. (But cannot work on emailed documents on my cell phone.) The other 2 times this happened, email began loading after 10 days of no activity. No rhyme or reason. Have checked the box for a status update but reports come through via email... which is currently not accessible via Thunderbird. Why does this continue to happen? Please help!
