I have a problem ever since Thunderbird 115. Sometimes the delete button on an email I'm reading does nothing. So I go to the full list of emails, highlight an email, and use the delete key on my keyboard. This may work, then it stops working. When I first boot up in the morning, delete works for a while, often through the whole session. Later in the day, it only works for a few emails, or often only works on the first email during a session. I have two email accounts (gmail and my college alumni email on a Microsoft server). Problem exists on both. I have deleted all trash files (more than once). I have done a Repair Folder on my email folders. What else can I do??? It's making it really hard to get rid of old emails. I'm on Thunderbird 115.5.1 (64-bit). Windows 10 on a laptop with 16 gig of ram

Hello this is Don. I am using Win10 with Firefox 120.0 64 Bit as my default browser I am having a problem with logging in to The Sony Community Forum where I help Sony users. I enter my email as my Sign in ID then press enter to get to the password screen and it goes to the spinning grey circle on a white screen. My Memory and CPU gets really high and my browser locks up and I have to go to task manager and End Task for all Firefox processes to unlock it. I have no problem getting in to the website with MS Edge but I hate using it but I have to in order to sign in to Sony Community Forum and help users. I have have done a full system scan for malware with Norton, MSERT, Malwarebytes and Windows Defender. I have done a REFRESH of Firefox and I have even uninstalled and re-installed Firefox and nothing helps. I have it set to auto clear everything under History including Cache and Cookies. There is something about this Forum that for the past week will not let me in. I have emailed my Sony Advocacy leader and he is having the Web Site Team looking into it. This is the only website I cannot log in to. I have used Firefox for years and do not want to have to go to something else.

Respectfully, Don

Two suggestions: - In an earlier version of Tbird, it was faster to apply text colors to email. Currently, after choosing custom colors, one needs to click OK on two successive windows [headers: color, then text color].

Either of the following would be helpful: a) upon hitting OK on the first dialog [Color], automatically apply the selection - the user has finished the selection or b) allow a double-click to be a synonym for OK (on first dialog's OK, 2nd dialog's Choose a Color and Last Picked Color).

- Emulate something like Format painter: select text with desired color (and style + font), click format painter, when swiping new text apply that choice.

[FWIW, currently using 115 on Windows.]

Thanks to all for a great package!

Could you please let me know how to fix this in plain english so I can easily do it myself - I am no computer wizzard.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Please write your answer to my email account: [removed email from public] ,

I'm not sure when this started happening but Thunderbird (115.3.1, Linux) is no longer sending email invites to my invitees, even if some of those invitees are on my same host. as "Organizer" I do get an email notice to my personal email, which is the default attendee, with subject "Accepted: testing", and body, "mfoley@novatec-inc.com has accepted your event invitation.", but nothing is sent to the other invitees on the list. I checked the error console which showed these messages after I created the event:

NotFoundError: No such JSWindowActor 'DevToolsFrame' 6

1701371572264 Toolkit.Telemetry WARN TelemetryStorage::_scanArchive - have seen this id before: 9c1e2d46-28f9-430d-86d7-398dd0ad3bdc, overwrite: false

Not sure these apply to creating a calendar event. My server settings are fine, I can send and receive mail to the Thunderbird inbox without problem. I can send email from the Thunderbird client without problem.

Any idea why I can't send event notifications to invitees?

The new version adds unread count indicators to the folders. I prefered the previous approach of simply highlighting the folder. These new counts are overally dominant in the display, thus slightly distracting, as well as having a visual appearance that neither fits with the rest of the app in form nor colour.

How can I remove this counts?

I am trying to reach an internal company website (www.gqma.drw), with a certificate chain rooted in a company certificate authority. This works fine in Chrome, and worked in Firefox on my previous computer. But i recently got a new machine, and something somewhere is not quite right. I get an error message looking like this (between the ~~~s):

If i click 'View Certificate', i get a chain of three certificates:

  1. Subject common name = *.gqma.drw, issuer common name = SSDNS CA, subject key ID = BE:EC:EA:22:CD:4E:D6:2A:07:4F:7A:85:FA:89:52:67:77:43:B1:E1
  2. Subject common name = SSDNS CA, issuer common name = ISS Root CA, subject key ID = 8C:60:FD:78:C7:B3:FD:59:0B:73:99:E5:36:48:3F:53:A7:41:82:65
  3. Subject common name = ISS Root CA, issuer common name = SS Root CA, subject key ID = 80:DD:C6:A2:AC:82:4F:FE:8A:19:2E:AA:EA:F8:BF:61:48:DC:31:73

If i go to Settings > Privacy & Security > View Certificates > Authorities, i can find both the SSDNS CA and ISS Root CA certificates. As far as i can tell, they are identical - i can open the certificate from 'View Certificate' and the corresponding one from the certificate manager and flip between tabs, and all the details are the same.

I am using Firefox 120.0, via a flatpak, on Ubuntu 22. I have given the flatpak access to /etc/ssl/certs, where my company's internal CA certificates are located.

To me, this seems like it should all work. The server has a certificate signed by an internal CA, which is signed by another internal CA, and both those internal CA certificates are in my certificate manager. So what is going wrong? Is there any way i can debug this?

Dear Thunderbird/Mozilla,

I got the "Want Thunderbird On Your Phone?" email what starts with "Did you know that less than 1% of Thunderbird users fund all the work we do? We are completely funded by donations from our global community."

My question is did you know the Thunderbird is getting worse and worse? You would like money from user meanwhile you don't take care what users want?

The new Supernova is a big crap: - multiple folders can't be selected in the same time - Customized icon function also has been removed - TB always makes folders' file corrupted, folders always must be repaired time to time - TB time to time gets stuck during email sending and when I restart TB it removes the email from the Draft so I lose my already written email - TB always turns on f*cking Threads view on all news folder but Thread view is disabled - TB always uses Correspondents column instead of "From", "Recipient" and "Size", I can't set a customized default view. - I always have to restart the TB after a few days because it becomes very slow

Since Supernova has been released we almost each day got calls from our clients and complain about TB why it is getting more useless day by day. So it is a sad story but true.

Thanks, Zsolt

Recently I did a full scan with Microsoft defender and it detected a file in the “firefox/profiles../cache2/entries” as a trojan:PowerShell/Meterpreter.A (And also something related to gzip I’m sorry that I didn’t take a screenshot of the message but I completely freaked out and deleted it immediately after scanning with the other AVs). I installed malwarebytes and Avast and did a full scan they returned with a no malware has been detected. In the moment I panicked and immediately deleted the file (I should’ve uploaded to virustotal to see its behavior and what it can do and change to my PC if it is indeed malicious). Then I did a full rescan using Microsoft defender and it returned with a 0 threats found. However, I only went to a couple of websites recently which as far as I know are safe such as msi, cpuid, I don’t go to shady websites plus I have ublock origins as an Adblock. My question is as follows how much percentage wise this Trojan is a false positive and if it is a virus how much damage it did (the thing that got me freaked out is that it’s a meterpreter)

My web search results dont fill the screen, they always require scrolling down to see the whole page at once (as designed). why are the top 2 bands 3 times as tall as the font in them, they use up valuable space. see snip insert below. i have trouble enough with windows 10 without squinting and all this needless scrolling down looking for the rest of the buttons. Am starting to create 2 versions of sites, a .org and a .com and explaining to people WHY. I think the "don't save" does not work. It merely turns off creating an index of the viewed material and leaves the viewed material in cache. And re-displays the initial data eveytime, no matter how many updates. Thank you.

Is there any place to find an explanation of the "improvements" made to Thunderbird (and sometimes Firefox) without any warning to users and/or explanation of how they work. After today's update to Thunderbird 115.5.1, the way my Thunderbird screen looks has changed (not imho better, but certainly different. Examples: -- Previously, when I highlighted a message, the text of that message would be shown below and various icons would be shown that I could click on to perform typical tasks (Reply, Reply All, Forward, Delete, etc) -- Now when a message is highlighted, the only way to do anything with it (even to read the bloody thing) I have to right click and display it in either a new tab or a new window.

Can somebody explain [1] why this change is considered an improvement and [b] where I can read about how it works instead of figuring it out by trial and error.

I looked at the Release Notes and couldn't find anything helpful.

I apologize for bothering you if this is not a place for Thunderbird support. But I wanted to give it try before I stop using Thunderbird and just read/write messages directly from Google Gmail.

Thanks for any help anybody can offer.
