When I am trying to type in a web address the Firefox browser tries to "guess" what website I want to visit by auto-filling. This is sometimes useful, but most of the time it guesses wrong or takes me to a webpage when I wanted to search. Currently I am trying to sign into one of my Wordpress and Firefox will NOT let me type /wp-login.php at the end of the URL it keeps redirecting me to another page on my website no matter what I do. Is there any way to just disable this "feature" because I swear I'm about to switch to Opera as this is driving me bonkers. (I will never switch to Chrome, don't worry.)

Recently I logged out from Firefox my account, and when I tried to login it asked me to enter the 6 digit verification code from my authentication application. It looks like this comes from the 2-steps authentication method. I don't remember I used this procedure before, and I don't know what is the authentication app. I have this account since 2014 and now I am not able to login to it. Is there is any way to reset the sitting through email? Please help. Note: I created another account in order to be able to ask this question.

I've been using Thunderbird for years. Suddenly 2 days ago, I can't send or receive emails. I have the latest version of Thunderbird. There have no major changes to my system (that I'm aware of) in the last couple of weeks, except that I switched from McAfee security software to Windows Defender. I THINK that Thunderbird worked for a short while after making this change, but am not 100% sure. I have tried turning off the Defender Firewall and Thunderbird still won't receive or send.

I have more than one email account on Thunderbird...from different ISPs and neither works, while both still work on my iPhone with Apple Mail.

I have tried rebooting my PC and rebooting my server with no luck. Below is some of the trouble shooting info in case that is helpful.

Please help!! There has got to be a way to delete attachments from multiple emails at once. I need to save the emails but no longer need the attachments.

I can't imagine that the only way to delete attachments is one email at a time. After using Thunderbird for almost 10 years, I have accumulated a few thousand emails. Short of deleting those emails (which I may need to refer to), how can I accomplish this mass attachment deletion.

I am using TB 78.4 on Mac OSX Mojave.

I browse in permanent private mode, strict enhanced security.

When I logout of gmail, the permissions icon appears in the Site Info panel, image attached. When I choose X, the icon disappears; it says "a refresh might be necessary". When i refresh, the icon is back. No google cookie is listed in "Cookies and site data"

I refreshed firefox, reapplied my preferences. Problem persists.

I first noticed it this afternoon; it does not happen with Firefox 85, same privacy settings.

Is there something I can do to change this behaviour?

While the profile file from my old hard drive, is accessible through a USB port on my new computer, I continue to have difficulty in retrieving access to Local Folders on the old computer and successfully enabling them to migrate to the new computer. Both new and old computers are operating with Windows 10. I thought I had succeeded, getting the old Local Folders initially to appear in the Local Folders drop down menu on the new computer. They have since disappeared on the new installation, and although I am confident that they are still present on the old hard drive, I suspect they were "auto-deleted" within the new installation. I would like to simply copy the old Local Files to the new profile, but I suspect I must do more. Can a kind one of you give me a step by step on how to proceed? I believe that if I succeed in getting the old Local Folders to appear in the installation of Thunderbird on the new computer, I will be almost completely restored to the functionality I was enjoying on the old computer when its motherboard failed and it refused to reboot on December 30,2020. Takers?

After a force restart of my computer while Mozilla VPN was on, my computer can not access the internet at all unless I have the VPN (or ExpressVPN) turned on. I have tried whatever I can in network preferences, however that did not work. I am hesitant to manually uninstall in case I loose access to the internet in a way I can't fix. Has anyone had this occur to them? Was there a solution? Thanks!

Fix this issue PLEASE it pisses soooo many people off having the tabs above the address bar. ...Also when I double click on the empty space beside the tabs it just shrink the open window.....change this so double clicking on the empty area OPENS A NEW TAB...

For the past few days, my browser has started trying to save all JPEG files, regardless of their actual fire extension, as .jif. (see attached photo) I have not changed anything that should have done that, and cannot seem to change it back. Any help would be much appreciated!

I have been using Firefox for many year. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox recently.

I have a PC with Windows 10.

I typically have 5-6 browser windows opens (going back for year). 3 Ancestry.com search windows, one LDS Search window, and Yahoo e-mail window and sometimes fantasy sports window. I spend most of my online time doing genealogy research at ancestry.com.

Until a few months ago when I open a new Ancestry.com page in a tab, the page opened in the same tab. This is what I have been used to and expect. Within the last few month when I open a new ancestry.com page in a tab it opens in a new tab. Eventually I have 10-15 tabs opens which is don't like.

In "option" in the category "tabs" I have the 1st 2 boxes checked, the 2nd box being "Open links in tabs instead of new windows".

Is there something I can co to stop all these new tabs from opening when I am opening new ancestry.com pages in an ancestry.com tab?

Is there a way to disable the little notification that pops up showing what url is being loaded or that pops up when you mouse over a link in the bottom left of the browser?

I'm using an OLED and am trying to disable as many re-current static objects as possible. In my 25 years of web browsing I've never found this to be a useful feature so I'd rather it be disabled.

I can't seem to find any settings pertaining to it and all the info I can find on disabling is quite old and doesn't seem to be accurate anymore.

Any tips would be very appreciated.

Will your VPN software run on my router? I have 5 devices or less. I want everything protected and others do this. When will it be available? (The Linux version should work). Please advise. Tom

I was using the beta update channel, but with the recent release, I downloaded and installed 85.0 instead of upgrading to the 86 beta. This seems to have worked fine, but About Firefox is still showing me as being on the beta update channel and asking me to upgrade to the 86 beta. How can I get on the release update channel so I can turn on automatic updates again?

Is there a way to increase the size of the font of bookmarks? They are so small and hard to read. It seems like there used to be an extension that did this but it no longer works. Thanks!

I've had thunderbird for years and years. Many machines, many reinstallations, upgrades etc.

From time immemoriam, web mailto: links open the create newsgroup dialog. I have read everything here and elsewhere on the intertubes, done every fix, and nothing changes.

Is there anyway in thunderbird to get mailto: links to open a blank email and not the create newsgroup dialog?
