Would love if someone could please help me with this. It worked perfectly fine adding one Outlook account but this one for some reason just isn't working. It'll bring me to the Outlook sign in to give permissions then throws the error (attached image)

I am trying to add a business gmail account to my Thunderbird on Desktop and have run into difficulty.

I tried to use This Article in order to overcome the issue, however it is dated 2018 and seems very out of date with the current UI. So I am struggling with how to rename the incoming/outgoing servers to allow the new gmail account into the host.

When I try to add the gmail account I get the window to sign into the new account, but when I click continue I get "The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know." (see attached image).

Escaping out of the log in screen brings me back to the config page which appears to have accepted the account, until I hit continue and then it tells me that the incoming server is already in use. (see the second image).

I also tried turning off the experimental add account and use the previous interface to work the problem. I got the same results both times.

Please advise, I'd really like to have access to the account emails on my desktop without using the google web interface.

Account Settings > New Account > Enter passwordless Microsoft account credentials

After this, Thunderbird now prompts me to enter a Password and "Your login", whatever that means. My account does not have a password, but the field is mandatory. What am I supposed to do here, exactly?

I have used Thunderbird for many years with my plusnet email address john@jonela.plus.com. Plusnet no longer manage emails and have migrated to Greenby. Could I transfer my email address to Thunderbird as I do not wish to use Greenby.

Hi, I've got a "confirm your account" email, which I click through to get to my account but from there I don't know what to do to verify it. Is there a "verify" button that I'm missing, or an action I need to do on my account in order to finalise it? Thanks

HI Thunderbird updated on 1/4/26 and as a result I had to sign in to my client again. My emails used to save to IMAP and now they save to POP3 as a result there is nothing at all just the current emails in the inbox. I have googled a fix but they don't work. It has also changed the layout which I can't seem to change back. I was wondering if there is a way to fix everything as I have lost all my emil folders that were saved. Thanks for the help Wayne

When first setting up my email accounts, I accidentally created a false account that I cannot now delete. It was not fully set up and now I cannot delete it from the left panel. When I go to account actions, delete account is grayed out, how do I clean this up?

Please advise of the required incoming and outgoing account settings in Thunderbird to retrieve mail from Yahoo. The settings I have been using successfully have recently stopped working. I have tried everything that I can think of. I can log directly into Yahoo mail with my user/pass, but Yahoo rejects the same credentials for client login. Help would be truly appreciated.

I am using version 146.0.1. When I try to change accounts order from "Account Settings" by dragging and dropping the account and restart TB then it is returning to previous order. So I am not able to change the accounts order. Thank you. Ulvi

Using Thunderbird 146 on Win 10. Trying to add existing mail accounts as already did in early Thunderbird 17. 1. one pop account (gmx.net) added successfully. 2. one imap account (gmx.net) added successfully. 3. trying to set up further pop accounts of gmx.net end in waiting loop although data check of program is ok. Checked and verified muliple times server data, account and pw.

I am setting up a new email address on Thunderbird. I enter a new email address and when I enter password it is rejected. I have removed all previous emails and passwords

I have a new laptop "YOGA" with W11. Now I want to add an extra e-mail address. I am in Sweden and now I want to add my Spanish e-mail. It is a " @telefonica.net" address. I only want it to receive mail, to send mail I use my ordinary swedish mail. When I put in the "@telefonica.net" Thunderbird will not respond it says "use only letters and figures etc"

How can I fix this?
