Thunderbird doesn't open. I suspect because it opens every message I get or send either in a tab or a list or both. Then there gets to be too many of these. I didn't ask for any of these things! Why can't I just get messages like I used to, and not have to constantly be concerned with closing tabs and closing lists? It is ridiculous, and now the program won't even open. I know I am asked to be polite, and it is the programmers who are at fault, not the community volunteers. But we are not allowed to contact and complain to the programmers!

I have contacted support earlier and received a reply through Spectrum webmail giving me a ticket ID 344188 and this is the first that I have had time to resume working on the problem. My email address with Thunderbird is [edited from public] @columbus.rr.com. Besides the Spectrum webmail I also have access to Gmail with the address: [edited from public] @gmail.com Other contact means are: phone [edited phone# from public] and postal mail: [edited mailing address from public community support forum]

My Thunderbird program stopped sending on about 11/3 and the last incoming mail was on 11/5/25. The folders to save emails have also gotten rearranged and some missing. I hope you can help me with Thunderbird, which I have used for many years and have donated to it an Mozella regularly for the past few years. Respectfully, Richard E. Hartle

Hello I have been using Thunderbird forever it seems I am having issues with signing in to my email accounts, I have two main emails, one is: shaker0442@gmail.com, and other is: 0442taterhead@gmail.com My main email is shaker0442@gmail.com and I can't get Thunderbird to recognize my password, and I can't get it to load, and I don't know why, do you have the shaker0442 locked out?? I have 1 computer that shows bars at the top and left side that I like. The one at the top shows Get messages, Delete, Reply, Reply All, and a few more items. The one on the left side shows icons that are for Mail, Address Book, Calendar, Tasks, and Chat. I have another computer that doesn't have those bars. I have attached a screen shot from that computer. Both are running T'bird 140.4.0esr (64-bit) and both are Win 11 machines. I've tried everything I can see to get the 2 bars to appear on the 2nd computer. I hope someone can tell me how to get them to show up. Thanks, Mike

When I log into a website, say amazon.com, and it prompts me to add a passkey, my only option is local windows machine.

If I use Chrome, I can choose between Google PW manager and hardware key.

Once I save the passkey in Chrome, it works just fine in Firefox.

Is this expected behavior? I used FF for personal browsing and don't really want to move to Chrome.

On the 20, of October I was forced to re install Windows 10. Kept my data but I had to re install all my apps. With Thunderbird I follow the same procedure I used with Firefox: After installation I copied the profile folder from my backup and replaced the new one. That worked out well. With Thunderbird, I followed the same procedure, all my emails where there but not my local folders. I am attaching several snapshots to illustrate my steps. Image 1 "local folders now" Image 2 "Profile Folder". (why there are 2 sub-folders)? Image 3 "Mail in the profile folder" Image 4 " List of folders in my Local Folders" The are there, how do I get them back on Thunderbird in the correct place "Local Folders"? How can I stop my tablet from opening a new tab every time I switch to Firefox? It’s the worst when I’m trying to get information quickly into another app. I’ve looked through all of the settings and it’s not there. I’ve tried typing about:config and it does nothing except show the new tab window.

Someone please help. I’ve seen an answer from a question about a decade ago but things have changed now and there is no “options” if that’s the next suggestion. All I see is Settings now, and no options to change this in there either. This should be obvious right?

I have been using Thunderbird to download my mail from Yahoo for a long time without incident. Now I keep getting the message "Edge: Too Many Requests" as a response when trying to download my email messages (see attached file). I waited 24 hours and then tried again but still get the same message. I am able to log on to Yahoo on my desktop and see my mail without a problem. Is there something that needs to be cleared or reset in Thunderbird? My other email accounts in Thunderbird work fine. Any ideas would be helpful.

I have unticked perplexity.ai in preferences#search but every search from the search bar and address bar goes to perplexity.ai then immediately crashes and displays "Internal Error".

To use DDG I have to type duckduckgo.com on the address bar then search from there.

Firefox 140.4.0 ESR.

I've' scanned the PC with malwarebytes. I restored windows from a backup image I haven't made any changes to the PC at all. Was working fine in the AM but by later afternoon, it started using perplexity.ai exclusively.

How do I get rid of perplexity.ai

Hi - I’m experiencing that the Firefox app on my iPhone (iOS) has a bug where it’s causing it to automatically switch search engines from the search engine I have set in settings to another one that I have disabled. It’s becoming extremely annoying & frustrating that I have to go in and reset it every time it does it - which is close to four times a day. Also I’ve noticed that I can no longer delete search engines I don’t use. Please fix.

Today when I logged onto my MacBook I found that my Thunderbird desktop application is corrupt. When I attempt to open it states "You can’t open the application “Thunderbird” because it may be damaged or incomplete." Screen shots included.

I last used TB with no issues on Oct 27th.

I have over 20 years of TB emails that I do not want to loose.

I have backed up my profiles folders (there are 3) from >Go>Library>Thunderbird>Profiles

My first question is that I thought there were multiple locations of profiles. One for local. But I can only find the above profile.

My second question is how to I go about re-installing? Should I remove the corrupt application first and and then reinstall? What steps should I take?
