It's been months since I have been able to access my Thunderbird email. I have forgotten my password and tried all the self-help instructions, but nothing worked. Please help me.

An error message is repeating at random times asking to provide credentials for imap.gmail.com. When I select to proceed, a 400 error occurs indicting "the serve cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried". When I check google, email directly, there does not appear to be any problem with the account. What might cause this problem?

Hi, We absolutely don't want the Microsoft Outlook mail program that they are forcing on Windows Mail users. I can no longer access my emails through that program.

We need to know the key features of Thunderbird and if possible how it compares to the "NEW" Outlook amil.

I ask the comparison in part because we mainly don't like the forced use of the "cloud" aspect to their program and apparently having to sign in to it every time I try to open Windows mail.

Your prompt response is appreciated as I can no longer access our two personal email accounts through Windows Mail.

i do not use tb any more. i've been using gmail web site for a number of years. I have transferred all my emai files to gmail, so I don't need tb any more BUT when I use windows explorer to 'send copy to', it opens tb. so, how do i fix tks

One thing I don't find well solved in the new version. In the new look of the email list it is not clearly visible at a glance which emails are unread/new.

I use Thunderbird as a client for both my Gmail and my Outlook accounts. I recently received a message from Google saying that 73% of my Gmail storage is full. The message contains suggestions as how to free storage space, and I chose to delete many emails with large attachments. Since then, an error message opens every time I open Thunderbird for checking for new emails. The message says :

The folder 'Inbox on keldmhansen@gmail.com' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again.

This is very confusing since I have cleared more space for more messages. I have no idea how to solve this problem that keeps reappearing, and I never changed any settings, passwords or anything like that.

How can I solve the problem ? Thank You

From one of the advice about lost mails probably compressed following the advice I went so far to reach;

C:\Users\Compsname\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\1cbkavdo.default-release\ImapMail\imap.mail.yahoo.com But when I click on inbox there it asks with whichapp to open. When I click notepad notepad crashes! Should I use another app maybe due to the sizes of the mails?

Hi guys, having some issues adding gmail addresses to thunderbir. get to pop up window to allow and after that I get the message Unable to login. Probably wrong configuration,username or password

Using "threads" is a great help, but when Tbird includes an email not associated with a current thread, how can I change its subject to remove it? Or is there another way to accomplish removing it?

How can I make the deletion of unwanted emails easy?

I place those that I want to keep long term in various topic-named folders from time to time. Some of these I move offline as they get older. As new emails arrive I colour tag some for my action in the Input folder, some on topics without a named folder. Most other emails I do not want to retain. I have not found out how to move just the tagged emails form Input to another folder called say Action Required.

I would appreciate others telling me how they purge and retain emails.

I would like to keep the passwords invisible to users at workstations, so that people can only access their office email when they are in the office.

I have been sent email from PayPal to pay for items ordered from Vermont. The emails, days ago and again this morning, never arrived. I changed my email address with the sender this morning. My old email is the @teknology.net and I changed it to @aol.com, both using my name "dblieberum". Nothing has arrived to my inbox. Please advise. Don Lieberum

My email was working earlier today. Now - WHENEVER I click on "get mail" is does NOTHING. No messages at the bottom saying "retrieving" etc. I completely ignores the request.

 1) I turned of Norton - no change.
 2) I restarted computer - no change.
 3) I tried a different email client (browser based) - works fine.
 4) I am not running a VPN (verified by ISP call).
 5) ISP says "it's on your end (your client is the problem)".
 6) I reinstalled latest version - no change.

As described above. My live mail will not allow me to send mail. Keeps asking for a new password. When I put in a new password it will not accept it. Keeps asking for a new password.

I recently set up unified mailbox for all my email accounts under manage folders. I activated it for Inbox, sent, and trash but when I go to the unified folder it only show inbox not sent or trash folders. Why? The inbox folder portion is dispalying all messages by color code correctly.

I am using TB mobile version 13.0
