I initially used the K-9 email client and switched to Thunderbird sometime last year. For almost a year now, I haven't received any notifications from Thunderbird when new emails arrive, which I believe worked initially.
Then new emails weren't displayed at all; I had to manually refresh my inboxes and folders. A recent update seems to have fixed at least this issue, as new emails are now available when I open my inboxes. However, I still don't receive any notifications.
I have also checked the notifications settings and the permissions, it is always mentioned that the "Alarms and reminders" permission is required, but I don't have this permission. Reinstall the app and reconfigure from the Windows Thunderbird didn't helped as well.
Specs: Phone is a OnePlus 8 Pro OxigenOS 13.1 Android 13
Any help is very welcome; I don't want to reset the device hoping it will work, only to find out that it didn't help.

I have really liked using the "refresh" button with my Firefox browser. The "refresh" button has disappeared from one of my two Dell PC's (I use Windows Eleven, and my Dell PC's have solid state drive). I know there are two other "help" buttons ("troubleshoot mode" and "clear startup cache"). The "refresh" button has really helped me to keep my Firefox browser working properly with my two Dell PC's. Hi, I'm using Thunderbird version 140.0 on Windows 10 and trying to change the background of the message pane. I've tried:
background-color: #e6f3ff !important;

but it only changes the upper part and I can't find a way to target the whole flex container or the lower part. There is a forum response (titled Message preview pane background) that targets the message pane:
background-image: url("file:///C:/path to image/image.jpg") !important;}
and that fills the message pane when its blank at startup but it disappears when selecting a message from the list.
I can add the background-color statement to :root in Developer Tools and that only works for the current selected message. How can I change the background of the entire Message Pane - the upper and lower part that contains the contents of the message - for each message that is selected? Thanks, David

Tried the new feature, now I can not find the setting that allows me to change the picture. I read the thread "Customize your wallpapers". The instructions are as follows; You can personalize your Firefox New Tab page by adding one of the available wallpapers. Follow these steps:
1. In the right corner of the New Tab page, click the gear IG settings icon. 2. In the customization panel, under the Wallpapers section, you will see different categories like Solid colors, Abstract and Photographs.
Click the category you prefer. For example, selecting Abstract will show a variety of abstract designs.

Hi! For 2 weeks now I cannot permanently set a default search engine. I've always set Brave as my default search engine in settings. All of a sudden this was changed to DuckDuckGo by Firefox without my knowledge. I can change it back to Brave, but as soon as Firefox is cleared from memory it will revert to DuckDuckGo. Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? As it is now I cannot use Firefox when I always need to change the settings before using it.

Hi, Just migrated off windows and onto Linux and I'm having a problem printing emails and attachments directly from Thunderbird. Printing from Mozilla itself works find. I have checked the config information and everything looks ok and when I go to print in Thunderbird, the printer is there but the information presented shows that Thunderbird has the printer greyed out. I have an Epson ET-8550 and the correct drivers are present but TB doesn't seem to finding them. I'm running TB v140.03.0esr 64 bit

I tried to use a ftp link setting firefox as the default ftp app, not realizing firefox no longer supports ftp. I am unable to reset the default app and can't find the setting to do so. I downloaded filezilla and wish to set it to be the default app for ftp. Can someone help me with this? Before anyone suggests it, resetting firefox to default settings is not an option.
There are sliders in setting with either a white or black dot. What does that indicate?

hi, I recently purchased a new wireless mouse and keyboard... and my only problem is that there are a couple extra buttons on my new mouse... roughly thumb position... and are by default set to navigate backward and forward.... I'm running ubuntu linux... which results in accidentally clicking back midway through a video or podcast and losing my position more often than you'd expect... any idea how I might either reassign or disable them entirely on the software side of things? thanks. -dan
