I just lost my bookmarks again, it happened a month or so ago as well. Appears to have been due to updates.

I have already followed the recommended ideas of navigating to restore, but there is no date given to restore to.

Just "choose a file comes" up, and that appears to lead nowhere.

I also went about:profiles , and all that was there was the current "cannot be deleted " profile and the option to make a new one, I tried that, it did not restore bookmarks. I need some of tose bookmarks quite badly this time

What more can I do ?

Hello I want to use my calendar and adressbook from different PCs which have access to a common network device like P: So I intend to locate and use Thunderbird calendar and adressbook on dedicated device P:. Is there a way to achieve that? Thanks lot Thomas

Please assist,I had to delete Thunderbird off my Desktop Computer & After that I copied all data from Thunderbird to my Desktop,BUT BUT when opening thunderbird,It comes up with as per attachment I have re done this 3 times & it is a stuff up & nothing like what it looked like or what the laptop looks like How can I fix this Problem for which I think I created Thank yoy Darryl

First of all I've noticed that even logging in to the account management page doesn't work with my vpn on. So of course sync itself doesn't either. It works perfectly fine with it off though. Is there an IP address that I can add to split tunneling to allow only the sync/FF account manager through my vpn? Or another way I'm not aware of? I'd rather not have to allow the whole browser through my vpn if possible.

I am writing this message in regards to Thunderbird's GPG support after v68, in the last hope that someone suggests a solution that moves me away from version 68. I consider the current state broken.

My PGP keys reside on a Yubikey, but smartcard usage has been broken after v68, as none of the supposedly correct setups work. It should work pretty much out of the box, but it doesn't. The whole idea of moving away from Enigmail without having a properly, fully implemented support, including for smartcards, or at least for working with GPG, was utterly misguided, IMO, and broke the once nice client.

I enabled gpg usage and fetching in Settings, I imported my pubkeys to Thunderbird's PGP manager, then added my external key (with GPG). Everything looks fine. But when I click an encrypted message, I get "The secret key that is required to decrypt this message is not avaliable". Nah, it's available and it's there! The pinentry isn't appearing at all and this is the result. I believe this is TB's fault, as the pinentry correctly appears with everything else I do, also with TB 68 + Enigmail. The setup is the same. I am using the latest Gpg4win.

Settings:

mail.openpgp.allow_external_gnupg - true mail.openpgp.fetch_pubkeys_from_gnupg - true mail.openpgp.alternative_gpg_path - has no effect whether set or not

gpg-agent.conf:

enable-win32-openssh-support default-cache-ttl-ssh 900 max-cache-ttl-ssh 1800 no-allow-external-cache default-cache-ttl 300 max-cache-ttl 3000 ignore-cache-for-signing allow-loopback-pinentry

gpg.conf:

FYI, adding "pinentry-program" has no effect on solving the problem, whether set or not.

Hello, I was attempting to send a message to 44 recipients and got the attached error message. I then created a mailing list and attempted sending both as To: and a CC:, and got the same error. My understanding from searching the issue is that Thunderbird has a maximum of 60 recipients allowed, and my provider, northmail.ca, has a maximum of 250 recipients allowed. I cannot figure out what the problem is, or what I am missing. Assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello. I accidentally removed the VPN button from the toolbar and would like to restore it. However, when editing the toolbar, there is no option to add this button back. Please help.

My K-9 in Android suddenly stopped to work a couple of days ago. The server asks for autentification. I haven't changed anything. I've uninstalled and reistalled the app and restarted my phone a Samsung S22 ultra several times. The app is recognating some settings automatically but it doesn't accept my old password with 16 letters in a group of four with highfens in between. What shall I do, please? Something wrong with the server? The version of the app is 17.0 updated March 16th 2026.

When trying to set Firefox to open a file on Windows 11, it is overwritten by Firefox Nightly. I have both branches installed.

This is how it goes when attempting to set Firefox as a default application in my machine:

1. "Apps > Default Apps"
2. .mp4 (for example)
3. click the button below that displays the current default application
4. Firefox Nightly appears in this menu
5. "Choose an app on your PC"
6. "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" ... "firefox.exe" ... "Open"
7. Firefox Nightly remains in this menu

I cannot get Firefox to appear as an available app in this menu. The only workaround, although inconvenient, is to drag and drop files straight into Firefox.

I'm using Thunderbird 149.02 to make a local copy of all folders, messages and attachments on my yahoo mail account. I don't yet see an obvious way to issue a command to Thunderbird to accomplish this.

I'm using export.imap.mail.yahoo.com as the IMAP server as some of the folders have >10000 messages (none have >100000 messages, and there is no significant real-time email arriving to the account while I do this procedure.)

In settings/offline settings I have "automatically follow detected online state" and "download messages for offline use when going offline [yes].

In account settings/synchronization & storage I have Disk space: Synchronize all messages locally regardless of age"; "to recover disk space, old messages can be permanently deleted..." I have "Don't delete any messages" and "Always keep starred messages"

With these settings, I've tried (from the main menu) File -> Offline > Download/Sync now, then "Download and/or sync..." I have selected Mail Messages, and the Select button takes me to a table where I have selected the main account folder and all sub-folders.

With these settings, Thunderbird appears to go through some of the folders and downloads messages from, them, and after a while says there are no new messages (I don't have the specific text, but it ceases interacting with the server". If I repeat the Download/Sync now procedure, it appears to download more messages, will continue for a while, then stop in the same way.

When I compare the size of Thunderbird's local account folder, it appears to grow after each of these iterations, but is (after half dozen cycles through this) has only reached about 2/3 of the total stoage size reported by Yahoo. While I understand the storage mechanisms would differ significantly between yahoo and Thunderbird, I don't believe I've found a single sure-fire way to accomplish what I set out to do in the first place (which is get a complete copy, through IMAP, of all emails, folders and attachments.

What am I missing?

An IRS form 4506-B PDF has to filled out and sent with adobe reader, if you use a browser it disables funtions in adobe acrobate reader that allow you to send the form. Thunderbird works find to send regular emails. It isnt working when I click on the "submit form" buttton at bottom of the 4506-B forms page. I ran Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode and turned off all AVG protection includeing VPN and it still wont work. I tried with my aol and gmail accounts.

Started a few days ago, I'm getting a Access Denied error on Sky News web site-:

Has anyone a clue? I can go to the Sky Watch live..... when I click any link I get the same result above. This happens when running Firefox in safe-mode.

Running Win 7 x64 115.33.0ESR This is the only problem I have.

I’ve been noticing an issue with YTS-type sites on Firefox. The site either loads partially, the player doesn’t start, or it keeps buffering without playing anything.

What’s strange is that the exact same site works perfectly fine on Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers. Videos load instantly there, but on Firefox it either breaks or takes forever.

Things I’ve already tried: – Cleared cache and cookies – Disabled all extensions – Tried in private window – Checked network (no issues)

It feels like something related to Firefox compatibility with the video player or scripts used on these sites.

I also tested another version here which seems to work better on Firefox:

Not sure what’s different (maybe a different player or encoding), but it loads without issues for me.

Has anyone else faced this or knows what might be causing it?

I'm a retired Desktop Support tech more familiar with Outlook, still very new to Thunderbird. I enjoy supporting family & friends and often email urls for various reasons. What setting do I need to tweak in Thunderbird to get long urls that I paste into emails to send to wrap within the composed email?

When I inadvertently press CTRL + R when entering text, it is VERY frustrating because the window refreshed and I loose all of what I typed! Is there some way to disable the CTRL + R combo so the window does not refresh?

I downloaded Thunderbird to my new machine, followed instructions to copy the Profile Folder from the old machine and pasted to the new machine. I didn't get a message asking whether I wanted to replace the data on the new machine. When I started Thunderbird, I am not seeing all the data I expected - no address book, only 200+ emails, no sent emails. What did I do wrong?
