Functionality and usability issue: I use the Thunderbird for Android app as an adjunct to my desktop installation. Recently I had occasion to reply to an email in Android to one "to" recipient and needed to add two "cc" recipients, but found no way to add the cc recipients without deleting the existing cc recipients and having to input the entire (dynamic) group again, but then was also stymied by that. How best to handle this issue?

Other than that issue, the lack of desktop contacts synching, and the lack of spam filtering, Thunderbird for Android has been a huge help, so thanks to the developers for their dedication and hard work.

I'm not sure where to go with feature requests, I didn't find that at all on my mobile... But, let me shoot, and you shoot me down if I wasted your time.

1. I would like to be able to archive directly from the Android notification. That's currently not an option.
2. I would love to have the time stamped directory option for archiving that we have on desktop. Right now on Android we can only go the to the "archive" directory.

So, what I really do now, as I read most of my e-mails on mobile, but do some specific processing on desktop, is mark it either as read or archive it on mobile. Then I go to desktop and archive it again...

In my Thunderbird client on my tablet (Android), phone (Android), and laptop (Windows 11) over the last week, it has stopped emptying the Trash folder by clicking "Empty". Also, across these platforms the Trash folder will no remain synced, while it appears other system folders remain synced.

As I have not made any client setting changes (prior to troubleshooting this issue), I must assume a recent background change/app update has occured.

Please advise.

This is observed on Pixel 9 Pro. Running Thunderbird v21 from F-Droid.

Not sure if this is in the latest update, but if I select a message, the top of the screen (where we are notifications and battery level) turns into a black bar. This happens in, both, the unified mailbox and a specific mailbox.

Is this a bug or normal behaviour?

I recently updated Tbird Mobile to v21.0. I'm on the latest version of Android released for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6. The "Empty Trash" and "Empty Spam" commands no longer work. I have to go to the desktop version, empty those folders there, then go back to the mobile version and resync in those two folders to get the trashed files to "go away". This never happened before the v21.0 update.

Is there something I need to do/change, or is this a bug?

Hello Guys; Since ages I use Mozilla email product (started with Navigator...). And I only use POP3 accounts so I've a lot of emails stored on my computer. Fine. I've imported my settings into Thunderbird for Android with success but this leave the data behind. How could I store my email folder on my phone and where to put it ? I exported my settings from desktop thunderbird when setting up Thunderbird Android 20 but discovered it was automatically marking messages as read. That makes it difficult to have a peek at messages when I'm out (in case there's something urgent) but still see those messages as unread when I return to the desktop.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1504592 claims to have found the option to do that, but it's an old message that has been archived without ever saying where that option was found. I've tried settings search as well as a visual search of all settings without seeing a relevant option.

Does that option actually exist? Or do I have to go back to K9 (which, at least in v19, had that option)?

Hello, redminote 12 pro 5G (hyper OS 3.03.0) has permission to use the camera. but when I want to scan the QR code generated by Thunderbird on PC, nothing happens. However, I did manage to import my accounts on a Xiaomi tablet. An idea or an alternative for transferring the accounts? Thank you in advance for your help. PS: My PC is running Linux mint, does it make a difference?

On my Samsung A05 Thunderbird does not show received email dates only the day. This is useless for finding emails going back more than a week or two. I don't care what day of the week it was received, just the date and time. Earlier solution offered (via message lists) not in any of my menus so cannot use. Please advise how to show dates. Current OS Android 15 A055FXXSHDZF1/ A055FOJMHDZF1 / A055FXXSHDZF1 with security patch level: 5 June 2026 Also cannot find support/about option in the settings menu to show the Thunderbird version.

Please add an UNDO feature to the Android version.

It has happened to me multiple times that when trying to scroll (esp in the bus) it registers as a swipe & deletes a message.

and then it's really hard to scan the trash to figure out which message it was

at the same time, i don't want to be asked for confirmation *every* time i delete something - I'll spend as much time "confirming" as deleting messages.

So the ideal in an undo button somewhere in the interface where a can undo the last action (from a subset, since I'm guessing not every action can be undone). The desktop version has it, hopefully it can be migrated to the android version.

I uploaded the Thunderbird Android App to my Galaxy S24 Mobile Phone and can't get it to show the various Folders (Inbox, etc), nor does it upload my Email Addresses.

Android app. TB version 20: can only see inbox. How do I find trash, spam, and other folders in my account. The app is the current version on Play Store. Tips say go to the appearance menu but I don't seem to have one. Please help. Thanks

I'm using a Galaxy22 and have T/b for Android installed and ready to go. I've followed all the directions to import everything from my T/b on my desktop, which is the latest as I do automatic updates. But when I open T/b for Android, I see something called "unified inbox" with absolutely nothing in it, just a blank screen and a "compose message" icon on the bottom right. Where's my stuff? Please help! I can't handle Samsung email anymore, it won't send out any messages.

The Delete button (I've just begun using Thunderbird for Android) sends email to Delete-land: gone for good. There is no way to reprogram it to send to Trash. One can, alternatively, hide it on the main screen by setting swipes left and right to None. But it is still there in the Read screen....and potentially dangerous. If you try to set a swipe to Trash rather than Delete, there is no Trash option. So you have to set it to Move and choose Trash each time. This reduces the utility of Tbird Android and means you have to be extra-careful when reading emails.

Also, no way to reduce image sizes (by percentage) when attaching large picture files...unless you reduce them in advance in an image processing program.

When manually refreshing an account, new messages do not appear automatically; you must scroll down to see them.

This is a regression from a previous fix in a version of K9 from a few years ago I believe.
