Example email attached. Mozilla support emails say requests are coming from a windows 10 device but I am on 11. Is this a sign that something is wrong with my account or just a typo?

Either yesterday or today, I was prompted within Mozlla Thunderbird to enter my password before I could download e-mail sent to my main business e-mail address, [edited]@suddenlink.net. I did that, expecting to see my latest mail haul from that account downloaded to my inbox. I was therefore unpleasantly surprised to see that my e-mail login failed, with the message:

"Login to server imap.suddenlink.net with username [edited] failed."

Yet, I was able to log into my webmail account for [edited] online with that same login and password.

I then tried updating the password, thinking that the Optimum server was requiring that I do that as a security measure for the entire network. After restarting the system, I logged back into Thunderbird and tried to view my [edited]@suddenlink.net e-mail.

Even after doing all that, I failed to gain access to my latest e-mail deliveries to [edited]@suddenlink.net.

Can anyone help me to restore my access to my e-mail account [edited]@suddenlink.net in Mozilla Thunderbird? I can view or send the e-mail in my webmail account, or on my Smartphone. However, those methods are considerably less convenient than relying on mail delivery to or from Thunderbird.

This sort of setback has happened before. Whenever it happened it was difficult to solve. Attached is a screenshot of the Thunderbird response to my attempted server login.

after my laptop crashed (again did so over 100 times) but this time all history is gone, could not restore last session/s - can't log into my accounts (any) - can't set it to an earlier date (e.g. yesterday) to eliminate whatever the problem is (am not an IT expert, so I don't know how - just know that it is possible) - I have tried for 4 hours - no avail - I really need the status of 4-5 hours ago so I don't lose so much

Hello, It's getting very frustrating some time hotmail folder/emails are there ans other times not, then some times it will start a downloading all messages folders as if it a new set-up. I have follower all info I can find but it just stays the same.

An IRS form 4506-B PDF has to filled out and sent with adobe reader, if you use a browser it disables funtions in adobe acrobate reader that allow you to send the form. Thunderbird works find to send regular emails. It isnt working when I click on the "submit form" buttton at bottom of the 4506-B forms page. I ran Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode and turned off all AVG protection includeing VPN and it still wont work. I tried with my aol and gmail accounts.

Someone seems to have messed with the search tab. For better or worse, I use Google most of the time, The search tab used to default to Google. If I occasionally want a different search tool, e.g. Wikipedia, I would use the dropdown list. Now it seems to default to the last used search tool. How can I get rid of this "improvement"?

It seems that most times Firefox does an update, it deletes the Amazon UK search tool and does not provide any option to put it (or any Amazon tool) back. Where is it on the list of search tools?

Using Thunderbird to check emails and the calendar for an Infomaniak account: The account was active and working properly. After switching this account to 2FA, Thunderbird consistently requested a username and password during synchronization. After some research, the solution is as follows: you need to create a new app password with Infomaniak, then ensure that Thunderbird saves the password and that the “Require device authentication...” option is disabled. Would it be possible to provide a complete step-by-step guide for next time? Thank you.

Previously when installing Firefox, it used to create desktop shortcut for All users: C:\Users\Public\Desktop

Now it creates in user profile: C:\Users\UserName\Desktop

I think the first option was better for systems that have multiple user profiles.

Just installed Thunderbird on Windows 11. Have two accounts: UN1@hotmail.co.jp and UN2@hotmail.co.jp. I created them in exactly the same way, but one of them works without problem, the other shows me "Command Error 12". After searching for a solution on the forum, I understand that none of the suggestions work. The error repeats. What can it be and is there a way to fix this error?

Recently switched ISPs to a fiber internet company. After the switch, now whenever I try access my comcast email tunderbird gives me a message that my IP is temporarily blacklisted. I get two messages. One is a windows notification that says the blacklisted message, and then a popup message from tunderbird that it cannot log in. I have contacted my ISP to ask them what's up with the blacklist, but what's weird is that I can seem to access these accounts fine through Outlook, which would seem to indicate that there is some issue with tunderbird. I'd really rather use tunderbird than outlook. Can somebody help me with this?

The few articles I could find on this all suggest changing the IPv6 setting but I checked that and it is already set to what they suggest.

I tried deleting the account and recreating it in tunderbird, but it won't go through it says it can't log into the account.

I had a problem and deleted thunderbird. Now I have reinstalled and cant get to the allow button for account setup. It seems to be way down the page and I cant sroll down to get to it.
