Thunderbird update 115.3.1 self installed now nothing works.
When I first opened program after update and tried to retrieve mail for one account (of5) got a window telling me password not accepted by pop server (at zoho.com) and asking if i wished to enter a new one. Said no and went to passwords in config to check if they had transferred properly. They had.
Tried again to download messages with same results (password not accepted)and clicked to enter new one. Instead window popped up for next account telling me password not accepted by server and did I want to enter a new one. Same results for every account in order without ever letting me access one. Rebooted - no change.
Downloaded copy from mozilla and re-installed thinking it may reconfigure what was wrong. No luck. Now when I try to retrieve messages I don't even get password not accepted only "done" in bottom left corner where it usually shows download happening.
I have used Thunderbird practically since it came out and have installed configured and transferred accounts across many computers and never had any problem like this!

And it was very convenient. Now subfolders expand as soon as the mouse hovers over the folder name. This is very uncomfortable. Is it possible to return to the previous solution in the settings?

When I click to the inbox off one of my gmail accounts it does not display to the last message received. Thunderbird opens to a message about 1/4 up into my inbox.
I have a second gmail account and this behavior does not occur.
I'm sure its a easy fix, I just can't figure it out .

There was zero delay on the prior version to open a folder, so it appears to be specific to Supernova. I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned it on the forums yet, so it seems it might just be something about my particular setup. Can anyone help me diagnose what I might be doing wrong?

My thunderbird just upgraded to 115.2.2 (32-bit) - my windows is 64-bit - but I can't read the preview window or emails. Everything is in a gigantic font so I see only 2 lines at a time in both the main email edit screen and the preview screen. I tried changing it to Calibri 12 in Settings (it was Calibri 17) but that makes no difference. I also don't like that I have to go through File menu now to get messages for just one account. Is there a way to downgrade back to my old version? I guess that would be 115.2.1. Thank you!

I'm running Thunderbird 115.2.3 on Mac OS X Ventura 13.5.2. Since a few days ago, the Thunderbird interface will hang completely a few minutes after it launches. I can usually get in and read an email or two before this happens. No crash dialog appears, and I have to force quit the application.
A few things I've tried, unsuccessfully:

Currently the calendar as such works fine. But the "invite" function is critical for the use I am giving as transnational NGO to invite to meetings etc. All worked fine with previous TB versions.
System config: WIN10 prof, all updates installed, fully licensed, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X etc. (mid-end system built in 2022).

I am using a Mac with Big Sur (macOS Monterey Version 12.7), and my email is POP, using Thunderbird Version 115.3.0. My incoming messages are sorted in reverse order so that the latest message is listed first. I retrieve the message headers first then I either delete the message or download the contents of the message. The problem is that when I download the contents of the message Thunderbird does download the message BUT it highlights the message just downloaded and it jumps to the next message. This is very annoying because in order to read the contents of the message I have to go back one message and purposely select the message just downloaded. It did not do this previously.

Thunderbird layout - how do i enlarge the classic view current message pane window? it's too short/compressed, and i can only drag it up a little, then it stops. In the prior TB versions, I only saw the last 3 or 4 messages in the upper message list portion of the classic view layout. Now I'm seeing almost 10 messages in my messages list. Meanwhile, the actual current message viewing pane is now horizontally compressed so that the ratio of message list to message view is closer to 40% message list, 60% actual message text plus the header info. I have tried click and drag the upper border of the current message being viewed, towards the top of the screen, but it stops, and still shows me 10 most recent messages in my list, which is really useless. I only need to see the last 3 or 4. The rest of the viewing pane should be more of the text area of the current message being viewed. Is there a "config editor" tweak to reduce the messages list to 3 or 4 messages, and increase the actual current message viewing area? Or some other fix for this?

Most of my work life is in email. Over 25 years (starting with Mulberry) I have built up a custom IMAP folder hierarchy that makes work manageable, but Thunderbird 115 has broken this, now displaying nested subfolders at the top level sorted alphabetically. See the images for before and after. For example, there are now three "Administrative" folders that were formerly classified under superordinate folders for my roles as lab leader, graduate program chair, and departmental faculty member. Persons who used to be in Colleagues or Students subfolders are now at top level. Inexplicably, a few folders retained their hierarchy but most are flattened out. Now I need to scroll through hundreds of folders (have not counted recently but in the late 2000's I had over 500.)
I was able to revert to 102.14 using backups, but will be stuck with this version for the rest of my career unless Thunderbird fixes these problems. Thunderbird is so important to me that I make an automated monthly donation to the project, but will have to cancel if this is not fixed.
If anyone has found a work around please LMK. And Thunderbird team, please acknowledge and LMK whether this will be addressed or are IMAP users left behind?

Thunderbird 115.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro 22H2 OS build 19045.3208 Having just updated from 102.13.0.0, I find the sizing and applying of column sizes/views to be even more frustrating than before. Comments/questions: 1. Why is it virtually impossible to simply slide a column header divider to a new location where one wants the divider to be without other adjacent columns changing size too? 2. Why do columns like Date and Tag refuse to slide to a minimal size and even double-clicking requires multiple attempts to reduce the width? 3. Why do column widths not transfer exactly when using Apply to... ? 4. Is it possible to have an Apply to... option that is All Accounts and their Children? (Rather than having to do it on each Account separately.) 5. Once a particular "view" (generic use of the term) is to one's satisfaction, what is the supported way to reproduce that exactly on all folders in all Accounts, so that every element (column selections, sizing, sorting, etc) is identical on all folders? My Thunderbird auto updated this afternoon to 115.3.1 . Now I am only seeing message headers. The body of the messages has disappeared. I'm not seeing anything on the bottom half of the screen, not even the message tool bar where you can delete, reply, etc..
Strangely -- the very same thing happened to me six months back with a secondary account, but my primary account was unaffected. So I was using the email interface with one email address (same domain name) which worked fine, while the secondary one only showed headers, and not the actual messages.
NOW-- after this download, the secondary email address account is showing both the headers and the messages, while my primary account is only showing the headers.
PLEASE HELP. Posted here six months ago for the previous time but never got any solution to the problem then. Just lived with it, as it was a secondary email address, but I will have to leave Thunderbird if I can't get the primary address showing actual messages soon.

I had a backup from a few weeks ago, and copied all the top-level files over. So I got all my setup bacvk and all seemsed fine, but have just seen that my address book is messed up.
I had lots of important 'contact lists' (about 10), they have all disappeared. I only see "Outlook Express..." (imported ages ago) and "Collected Addresses", the main section, and the sub-lists are all missing, and I have lost years of addresses for my business.
I have the abook.sqlite backed up on 13th Sept, but can't open or use it to check what's in there. I tried importing, but got as 'fail'

I recently noticed an issue after waking my MAC Book M1 (2020) from several days of sleep. Upon opening the lid, I was met with a system warning about low memory. Further investigation revealed that ThunderBird was using over 100G of memory.
Just a few days ago, I had updated my MAC to Sonoma 14.0, and last week ThunderBird was updated to version 115.3.0. Both were significant version upgrades, and I'm unsure where the problem lies.
I haven't installed any additional extensions or plugins, as shown in the attached screenshot. However, I did notice some components listed in the debug information, and I'm not sure why there's an inconsistency.
I will continue to monitor this issue to see if it reoccurs. For now, I'm just reporting this as a single instance along with my system information, hoping it's an isolated case.
