When setting up a new email account in Thunderbird I get the error "incoming server already exists" But when I go to the inbox there is no account shown. Do I have to clear something? How would I clear the account that exists if I can't see it?

Hello,

Since I updated to Thunderbird 137.0.1 (Thunderbird for NixOS, nixos - 1.0) I get the problem where every time I close and relaunch Thunderbird, only one account shows up. The first time, eleven of my twelve accounts disappeared, with only the one on top showing anymore (or existing in settings), and every time since then, if I've tried to add a new account, then it disappears.

Is there any info I could get that would help diagnosing this easier? Should I file a bug report?

I installed Thunderbird and set up my Outlook account with no problem. However, every time I try to add my Gmail account I get an error message "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password." This happens whether I try to set up the account using either Thunderbird's automatic configuration by doing a manual configuration. Can anyone help? I can log into Gmail on the web with this email address and password with no problem.

Now I want address book including mailing lists, and message filters. Which files do I have to move?

I want to sync up my devices, both of which are logged in to my mozilla account. In the settings, there is an option to "Connect Another Device". This prompts me to scan a QR code within the firefox mobile app.

Unfortunately, the option to scan a QR code does not seem to exist in the current version of the app. In the sync settings, there is no way to open a QR code scanner. Opening it via the camera or icon in the URL bar on the app brings me to a page saying "you have to do this within the firefox app!".

The only solution I've found is to log out of my mobile app, then I unlock the option to scan a QR code to log me back in. I'm sure this is not intentional behaviour; I suppose this is more of a bug report than a support request but I wasn't sure where to post this.

After installing TB on new machine(s) everything in the profiles looks normal. The folder names in the local folders are all there, as are the subfolders, and the folders all show the correct count for the number of messages in each folder and subfolder. But the actual messages are missing completely. All of them. I can save new emails to the local folders, and they appear. Example below, one saved message but the folder says there are 440. I have backups of the profile that are all showing the same problem. I guess that somehow there is a problem with pointers?

I installed Thunderbird last night. The release is

Once I got Thunderbird installed only the default account (the first one I added to Thunderbird) was on the right hand pane. I have set up 4 accounts and I cannot get to any of them. I Googled and tried all suggestions which seem possible.

Can anyone help me find my other accounts?

Good morning, As the Release channel is the new default one, I updated my ESR version to the new 136.0. And now there are some things that doesn't work :-( I've my Exchange account configured with Owl addon. It's compatible, and it's enabled, but I see two bugs:

  • Msg filter are not applied automatically, I've to apply them manually. Very annoying!
  • The Exchange account Inbox messages are not displayed in the Inbox unified folder. I've to manually add it every time I restart.

Are these bugs from TB or Owl? How I should proceed?

I have have my own domain and have recently changed my ISP and email providers to consolidate all my accounts into one. They now all have exactly the same server settings (IONOS) but with different User Names. Inbound emails seem to be appearing in any one of the 4 accounts without any visible form of discrimination and some appear on my phone email app (using the Google mail app) but not on my PC (using Thunderbird). I can also send emails from one but not the others. Any help as to how to combine the accounts into one user name would be greatly appreciated so that all incoming emails appear on both. For the last two weeks I have been experiencing problems with my email accounts in thunderbird.

Some default folders such as templates have disappeared I can't delete folders and subfolders that I have created It takes ages to migrate emails from one folder to another Gmail subfolders have disappeared apart from starred and important No option to 'Empty folder' any longer when you go to the trash so you have to delete each item or hightlight all and do a block delete. My sent box only has recently added sent items - not all in my gmail account I have uninstalled all my accounts from thunderbird the uninstalled Thunderbird three or four times now. Nothing has happened, but when I reinstalled this morning Templates was missing from my newly created email address I created a new folder in my account in thunderbird yesterday, but it has only synched and appeared on my ipad or iphone accounts this morning. Local folders account only has two things in it: Outbox and Deleted I am a real dinosaur with regard to techie issues and just don't know where to start to try and resolve the issues that I am experiencing. Has there been a recent update that has caused all these issues? I set up a new email account this morning thinking I would transfer everything from my existing email account to the new one and ditch my old email address, but both old and new accounts are missing Templates (which I use a lot) I have used Thunderbird for years and it is by the far the nicest email platform that I have ever used and I would like to continue with it as everything is so clear to see and sort. Can anyone help please?

I have accidentally deleted the folder for thunderbird portable that was on a USB drive. There is no recycle bin on the drive and I haven't written anything to it since I realised my mistake. Is there and easy way to recover everything?
