I am currently running Firefox on High Sierra 10.13.6 and have been advised that that OS will soon no longer be supported. I did have an option to do an update to ESR 115.1 in my Firefox app, however I was not home for a few days and when I returned planning to do the update it was no longer available. Now it just says my Firefox is up to date with 115.0.2... how can I get the update to the ESR 115.1? Thanks!

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

I'm using Thunderbird Version 102.4.1 on a 7 year old laptop and it's getting to the end of life with numerous driver and non responding problems. Also, it is not compatible with Windows 11. I have linked 3 Yahoo mail and 4 Gmail accounts to Thunderbird on it and they work really well. All are IMAP server settings. I have just bought a new laptop, an early Black Friday deal, and hope to set it up the same as my existing one, so when the old one dies, as it's likely to, I will still have access to the same programmes and emails.

I know I can access Gmail emails direct on any device and they are always up to date - is that called synced? What I don't know is if all email accounts will be synced or the latest - if I use Thunderbird on both laptops. If I delete an email on one device will it be deleted on the other device.

If this is possible, do I download Thunderbird on the new laptop, then set up the accounts for each email and just enjoy from there, OR do I have to copy the profile from the old device to the new one.

I love browsing, streaming etc. but hate trying to get my PC set up or sorting out problems with it. Presume I know very little if you are replying. I have never had two working laptops before so never had to worry about syncing.

I just replaced my 5 year old Windows computer with a new Windows computer. When I loaded Thunderbird on my old computer I had issues receiving my e-mail. My e-mail provider tech support was able to get me set up so that my e-mails went to a G-mail account and were forwarded to the computer. I used this setup for approximately 5 years. During that time I created several folders in Thunderbird and they have several important emails stored there. I setup my new Windows PC this past week and downloaded Thunderbird. To my surprise, I was able to set the program up so that it works without having to go through G-Mail. My issue is that I want to copy the e-mail folders and my address book from the old computer and move them into Thunderbird in my new computer. I have looked at your support page and I am concerned that when I move files from the old to the new that I will lose some e-mails and the few folders that I have on the new CPU. I would appreciate your direction and instructions on what I need to do to accomplish this task. The old computer Thunderbird files were up to date. Updates were completed as they came out. The new Thunderbird appears very different than the edition that is on my old machine. Thank you for your assistance.

I've just got a new Win 11 PC and have followed the method to transfer all the emails in my Local folders to the new PC. TBH I've tried many of the methods without success.

I've copied the folders from the relevant directory on the old Win 10 PC onto a USB. With TB closed on the new PC I've copied the folders from the USB to a new Folder in Local Folders directory.

When I open TB, of the ~7,500 emails I copy, only 282 appear

I've tried this many times now with no luck What am I doing wrong please?

I have had so much trouble with version 115 and looked online for answers. People recommended downgrading to 102, so I downloaded and re-installed that version, after deleting the file that was recommended from the Thunderbird folder (now I can't find the name of it!).

When I installed 102, it gave me the profile error message. I started to create a new profile and realized that will take me hours probably - I have multiple folders and email addresses in TB. So I decided to reinstall 115, and now it looks like there is no data at all. Help!

I'm using Windows 8.

Thanks

I have a System 76 laptop running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. The LTS (Long Term Support) ended years ago with Firefox 66. All of that works fine still. My problem is: 1. The world is telling me to upgrade my browser. 2. Mozilla tells me "Note: If you use your Linux distribution's packaged version of Firefox, you will need to wait for an updated package to be released to its package repository. This article only applies if you installed Firefox manually (without using your distribution's package manager)." 3. There will never be an updated package because LTS has ended. 4. IS THERE A WAY TO MANUALLY INSTALL A NEWER BROWSER LIKE FIREFOX 123?

I have Mac 10.12.6 on an "early 2009" 27" iMac. I'm waiting for the new 27/32inch iMac until I upgrade hardware and operating system. The release notes with FF V115 say in part " Users on those operating systems will be migrated to the ESR 115 version of Firefox."

I want to clarify that when I update to FF 116, FF will automatically install the ESR version, or will I need to do this manually? Also, will this update take a long time, like FF will be installing a totally new (ESR) version, rather than "just" the usual update?

Happy New Year all volunteers, In W10, after crash all my applications, and their setup/data got wiped out. Tbird worked before like charm. Then it was a new installation 2 years ago. I moved mail data from Vista Mail on a Toshiba PC to my then new GP PC, with W10. Now, I have to re-install all the apps, and try to import/collect data. Luckily, my Vista PC is still working, so I can recover things from there. So, in Vista Mail i exported contacts, tried .csv, and .vcf. Csv seemed to work, however the import in Address Book was not functional. The names and e-mail addresses were mixed up. Then, I tried .vcf: with a single contact it works fine, but not with a list of .vcf files. Then, I found the advice to create one .vcf file for all contacts via copy *.vcx merged.vcf. The file got created, and looks fine. The windows contact too can open it, one-by-one. Windows10 Mail can handle it also. But, when I try to import this in TB I got as far as START import. Then, the message "Import failed unexpectedly, more information may be available in the Error Console". I do not see error console, and more hints. I must tell, extracting contacts from GMAIL works too. But, unfortunately I do not have set up gmail so that it saved all contacts upon referencing, so I just have a subset of contacts there... Do you guys have a working solution, or is this a new chart again ? By the way, the TB version is the newest one, a guess it is 102. Cheers, Zoltan

Hello,

My webhost provider switched my domain last week. And Thunderbird is now a complete mess. They combined the names of the two domains and I'm not sure if I delete this email address I'll be in trouble because they've tied it to WordPress. All the pathways and files I've looked at - why I don't know because I don't really understand what I'm seeing - show the old email names and such. I've been pleading and begging for assistance to straighten out this mess, but without success. Also I'm prompted to login but Thunderbird won't recognize either the old ones nor the new ones I've created.

What I'm wondering is should I remove the current install and start again. And, if I start again, are the instructions easy for this poor senior's tech-phobic brain to follow?

(I'm not sure I trust the tech support at my provider since they keep saying I created the blended email address. This is entirely untrue: I created the one I wanted them to have done in the first place... and ended up deleting the contents of the old email in the process! =:o) Thank you, Zoe

Outlook says that it will no longer let third party mail apps like Thunderbird to access Outlook email as of September 16, 2024? What do you recommend?

"Action Needed – You may lose access to some of your third-party mail and calendar apps

Update your sign-in technology before September 16th, 2024 to maintain email access.

The safety and security of your information is top priority for Microsoft. To help keep your account secure, Microsoft will no longer support the use of third-party email and calendar apps which ask you to sign in with only your Microsoft Account username and password. To keep you safe you will need to use a mail or calendar app which supports Microsoft’s modern authentication methods. If you do not act, your third-party email apps will no longer be able to access your Outlook.com, Hotmail or Live.com email address on September 16th.

What do you need to do?

If you are receiving this email, you are currently using an email or calendar app that uses a less secure authentication method to connect to your Outlook.com email account. You will need to upgrade your third-party mail and calendar app to a version which supports modern authentication methods.

Microsoft provides free versions of Outlook for your PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices which can be easily downloaded and connect to your email account. Using an updated version of an Outlook application will ensure you are connecting in the most secure way.

How can you set up your Gmail, Apple Mail, or other third-party mail application?

Various non-Microsoft applications will have their own steps for connecting to your Outlook.com email account using modern authentication methods. See our help article - Modern Authentication Methods now needed to continue syncing Outlook Email in non-Microsoft email apps. However, you may need to contact the creators of those applications to provide you with instructions. In many cases, simply removing and re-adding your account with the latest version of that application will configure it to use modern authentication methods.
