I run aPC with Win 7 (64 bit) and use TB 115.18.0 (64 bit) Supernova (esr) I have all my contacts in a folder on the HDD (data drive). However, I cannot find where TB stores its "contacts" folder. Nor how to import my contacts from the windows folder. I have tried to download a "contacts sidebar" from TB, but my ver. of TB is "not suitable" " " " " create a "contacts" folder to replace the "Starred" folder etc. (failed) and even created a "contacts" folder in the "Local Folders"(succeeded). However when I tried to drag and drop the files from windows toTB, it failed.

There must be a simple way to to import contacts.

Can somebody help please.

I updated to the lastest version of Thunderbird (Windows) a couple of days ago and ever since have been unable to send emails and my address book has disppeared. The two things seem to be connected as Thunderbird seems to refuse to send emails that do not have an address in my address book and as the address book has gone - no send! I can't even reply to incoming emails, the "send" button just stays grey (see attached example). Even if I type the email address - same result. If I try to add a contact to Address Book nothing happens when I hit "New Contact". The address book just comes up with the following strange messages:

"Contacts from remote address books are not show until you search" note nothing happens when I search

and

"This addess book show contacts only after a search" again nothing. (Screenshot attached)

I have tried copying address book from a back up of my profile that is a only a week or so old but nothing changes. I can see lots of abook-x.sqlite etc files in the back up profile but even deleting all of these in the working profile and copying the back up files in does nothing.

Any help would be appreciated as I can't just keep using my mobile version to conduct business.

I am trying to add my Google Contacts as an address book in Thunderbird so that I can sync my contacts, but I get an error in the process. Below are the sterps I've taken.

I go into my address book and add a new contact list. After I select Add new CardDAV address book and enter my username in the field. Thunderbird automatically fills in the location. I select next.

A web window opens asking me to sign in with my Google account. I enter my email address and click next. This is when I get the error

"400. That’s an error.

The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know."

The URL in the sign-in is quite complex with many parameters and referrers, but I am hesitant to post it here as it includes email addresses and other encoded information that I do not wish to get scraped.

Any ideas?

FYI: I did try CardBook, as many other posts refer to it, but I could not figure it out in a couple of minutes, so I need to read the documentation. But I would like to get the integrated solution working without the add-on if I can.
