Since the latest update a Yahoo Mail sign-in keeps popping up...sometimes two different versions. It's driving me nuts. Should I uninstall/reinstall Thunderbird. It's so frequent for no apparent reason that I may have to give up Thunderbird and many, many years of use...and donations. thx, deanna

Hello Folks: after having the 'invisible' band across the top of each page, it was advised I reset : was fine saved all bookmarks before hand etc. Now, I am having to log into my usual apps each time: eg. the Library, the duck.ai, the Fitness app etc. Was this a result of the reset: wondering if the duckduckgo Privacy Essentials extension and the FF reset (refresh?) in now in conflict: I am not a greenhorn but definitely not an advanced techy so laylman's terms please THANK you for your help with this.

When I tried to login I see this information:

An error occurred.

We couldn't log you in. Please try again from a different device.

This is very strange, because I tried it on another PC and this is the same. It looks that yahoo even didn't try to check password, because this is not matter if I wrote correct password or different - I see the same information.

Please help. I have two yahoo mail account and this is the same.

Both accounts works well on another e-mail client and I can access to my account without any problem by browser. This is only thunderbird problem.

Every time I start-up Thunderbird, a series of 2 pop-ups from Yahoo open up: [ Sign in using your Yahoo account ]. I close the pop-up and a 2nd one pops-up. I close it and say 10 or 15 mins they pop back up in the same series. It's very frustrating. I can't tell if it's Yahoo or a scam cookie. I notice the URL at the top of page and it's the same one every time and every day. The same URL shows: "https://login.yahoo.com/?src=thunderbird&client_id=dj0yJmk9NUtCTWFMNVpTaVJmJmQ9WVdrOVJ6UjVTa2xJTXpRbWNHbzlNQS0tJnM9Y29uc3VtZXJzZWNyZXQmeD0yYw--&crumb=uE2cxQuNxpE&login_hint= ..." <... it goes on for a few more lines. It's long. I went to Firefox and cleared all 'cache' and 'cookies' and they still pop-up in Thunderbird. Heck, they just popped up again while writing you! Using TB no problem. Power failed. Restarted computer, TB email does not send or receive. TB receives Outlook email stating authentication failed. I logged back into Outlook. Outlook email works fine.

I need to fix TB to send/receive/save emails after a power failure today, Grid outage at 13:40, Power restored 13:40. Computer restarted, TB opened but will not perform any send/receive/save tasks. TB Message Send gets Outlook notification - Authentication failure. Went to Outlook email, logged back in, test email I had attempted to send by TB is in Outlook, plus new emails in Outlook, but none in TB. Checked for TB updates, current as of Jan 15, 2026. Restarted computer twice. Outlook email works but TB does not perform any tasks. I lost no TB emails in my messages before the power failure, they are all still in my TB messages. I have Firefox Browser and Windows 11. I love TB. It has had cardiac arrest. Help. Ann

I have a Hotmail account and multiple gmail accounts. When I try following your (obscure) instructions for changing passwords, the box of passwords is only for my gmail accounts. None for my hotmail.

As Hotmail is very important to me, I'd like to keep accessing it through TB but you make it tough.

I am now not receiving my Hotmail mail and as I get too much traffic 200+ msgs a day, it will build. Please send simple, direct instructions on how to find and change the hotmail password, thank you.

Hallo, ich habe seit 2 Wochen Probleme mit der Authentifizierung meines Mailaccounds von AOL. Alles was ich Versuche funktioniert nicht. Ich bekomme jedesmal im eingeblendeten AOL Autentifizierungs Fenster die Meldung "etwas ist schiefgelaufen. Ich habe in meinem AOL Account schon mehrerer Male ein App Passwort für Thunderbird erstellt. Habe dieses App Passwort Thunderbird genannt. Konto ist ein SMTP IMAP Konto, die Ports stimmen auch. Ich habe mein AOL Mailkonto mittlerweile in Thunderbird komplett gelöscht und ebenfalls die AOL Passwörter gelöscht. Die Authentifizierungsmethode für outh2 ist angewählt und Cookies sind eingeschaltet.

Ich kann machen was ich will. Die Autentifizierung funktioniert nicht.

Woran kann das noch liegen. Ich bin mittlerweile ratlos.
