I stored my profile at a custom location (windows) and then ported to the profile folder over to ubuntu linux,

when I start thunderbird with that profile directory though, I only restore basic information about the accounts, but none of the cached emails and also none of the passwords, I have to relogin which even prompts e.g. google to reask for 2fa.

So how do I port everything over, including cached messages and passwords so I don't need to relogin/redownload emails?

I have multiple nstmp files in a subfolder of IMAPMAIL of TBird 115 using GMail in Windows 115. The files range in size from 170 to 335 megs. Do I need to keep them all, or can some be deleted? On a weekly basis, I do move mails I want to archive from the server to Local Folders and compact the various folders, as well as regularly deleting mail I don't need from the IMAP Inbox. I keep mail in the IMAP Inbox that I need to be able to access from anywhere. It looks like the size of the NSTMP files seems to follow the historical size of the IMAP Inbox. Thanks!

Just updated to 115.13.0. I had three unread messages and this showed correctly in my task bar icon. I click on one of the messages to read it and the counter showed no nread messages.

This continues to happen. It shows 10 unread messages but as soon as I read one of them the number of unread disappears in the taskbar icon. I am missing some of my emails because of this since I never know if there are new messages.

How can I fix this?

I have used Firefox since it was Netscape, with an ad blocker if one was available. With version 128 I am seeing many, many, many ads where I used to see almost none. I have blocked popups but that's not as much help as you'd hope. I cannot find anythng like AdBlock+ or U Block. Are these no longer available? No longer recommended? I can tell you that they are sure still needed. Thanks.

I have a problem when I read a specific webpage and firefox jumps to the end of the webpage. This happens with one specific webpage, a Swiss newspaper: call www.nzz.ch - Now, select one of the articles but in the following way: do a right-click on the title of the article and select "open in new tab". (This is important: it does not happen if you left click on the article and open it in the actual tab.) Now you have the article in a new tab, you begin reading it and slowly scroll down using the mouse wheel. But then, with the slightest scroll back (upwards), firefox will jump to the end of the web page. All you can do is go back (ctl+upward arrow) and look for the place where you have been. Once this has happened, firefox will no longer scroll to the end of the page, you can scroll up and down, and everything works fine. But if you close the tab and open this or another article again with right-click, open in new tab, you have the insane effect again. I have no idea how I could analyze this myself and am thankful for help.

If an URL already have many tags or longish tags I can no longer see suggested tags when starting to type tags. Image example illustrates. This URL already have the following tag list:

1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI

Old behavior was if started to type ", spi" it would list suggestions:

Spitfire Spitfire_MkIX Spitfire_MkV Spitfire_MkVI

Easy & clear to select from.

Now it lists all already existing tags before each suggestion:

1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI,Spitfire 1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI, Spitfire_MkIX 1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI,Spitfire_MkV 1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI, Spitfire_MkVI

Suggestions are scrolled right invisible outside the input box.

Who thought this was a good new feature? It adds nothing, I can already see existing tags, why would I want to see them repeated for each new suggested tag (while not actually seeing the suggested new tag)?

How can I turn this *!$&@! off and return to old behavior?

They do not know how to help me! Here are the settings: Mail Servers -Incoming & Outgoing :mail.wisperhome.com Security: both servers :SSL IMAP Users: Incoming mail server port: 993 Outgoing port: 465 POP3 Users: Incoming port: 995 Outgoing port: 465 Login info:Username- rae1649@wisperhome.com Password - regular email password Authentication - outgoing - normal password

So only on my FIre Fox, a window would pop-up (a window that looked like it was via the operating system) that was asking me for my NordVPN Username and Password. When I would push the "cancel" button, it would just keep popping up over and over, not letting me do anything else. So I would have to switch to a different browser, whereby that would not happen. Is this something that happens with FireFox?

I uninstalled Firefox and only use another browser now, but it is not happening anymore.

I was the victim of a ransomware attack, I knew who did it, but the police did nothing. I suspect those same persons are still trying to keep tabs on me to see if I am still trying to take some kind of action against them. I don't want to sound paranoid, but these people, who are known to me, destroyed my legal practice, so it is worthy to be paranoid.

Anyone know anything about these types of things?

The Youtube videos will not buffer in my Firefox browser in ANY mode, safe, troubleshooting, etc. I got it to start after reinstalling then about a minute into the video it started buffering again. I can watch vids in ANY other browser, and am connected by ethernet to my router.

Rogers is no longer generating codes to use for 3rd party apps such as Thunderbird. Consequently my husband's email is no longer funneling through. He is getting my emails to his folder. Is there any work around that you know of that will allow him to receive emails rather than utilized Rogers' web? If not, can you please instruct me on how to delete his account from Thunderbird. I had growing problems ever since updating to Supernova. I updated again to 115.5.2 which didn't help. So I thought, right, start again. I uninstalled Thunderbird and installed 115.9.0. Now I have no folders in the folder pane and no messages. Please see screenshot. I have checked that Thunderbird is using the right profile. I have 1 IMAP email account and 23 POP3 accounts, 19Gb of messages going back many years, all saved for good reasons, mostly business. I can't see any of them, nor incoming messages. Windows 8.1, long term Thunderbird user and donor. Michael, UK

I switched from google/Duckduckgo to Firefox/Duckduckgo because google has no respect for anyone's privacy and their search results have become pretty much useless. Now, I'm getting the same crappy, irrelevant search results in Firefox w/Duckduckgo that I get in google. Has google, in their unquenchable greed and constant quest for power, managed to somehow corrupt Firefox and Duckduckgo so that they can't get intelligent, relevant answers, either?
