Firefox is crashing instantly on startup on Windows 11 22H2 x64-Architecture.

Things I've tries: Running in troubleshoot mode (Fails because Firefox doesn't even start) Reinstalling (Doesn't help event when doing a complete fresh install, deleting profiles, registry entries, and the program itself) Running windows in safe mode (Does work but I don't want to run in safe mode constantly) Adding a firewall exception (Doesn't work) Add an antivirus exception (Doesn't work)

I'm not getting any error reports or anything in general. I click the icon and it crashes.

My work computer is behind a firewall that is a forward and reverse proxy. Firefox crashes fairly frequently but my work computer is not using and will not be using the forward proxy; that is for the web server. Therefore the crash reports so not get submitted. There is an error message: "There was a problem submitting your report." Is there another way to submit them?

Hello,

The past few weeks I have run into the issue where Soundcloud fails to load and returns an error. This is circumvented multiple ways. Either I open soundcloud in incognito mode and it works fine, or I clear the cache in normal mode. BUT in the second option soundcloud only works during the first visit.

I found a previous question asked here detailing the same exact issue but nobody found a solution that worked. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1346767

Other info I think would be useful: Soundcloud works on my laptop running the same exact profile for firefox. Hinting to me that something else on my computer is in the way.

Deleting all history, cookies, cache, extensions; has not helped

I have attached the images below just as the previous poster has. Including the console log filled with errors.

Hopefully someone can help with this headache!

I'm using Thunderbird Ver. 102.2.2. It was working fine & then yesterday it began failing to save copies of messages to the sent folder. The error message says as follows: "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent-brad@goodharris.com"

I've restarted it & tried changing the settings to specifically save to the sent folder with no success. I can save to another local folder, but I want them in the sent folder where they belong.

Any suggestions on how to fix?

I updated to the newest release and since then I cannot do two things: 1) playback any online audio 2) have my computer mic work during video calls I tested my computer setting and also used another browser (Chrome) and had no issues with audio, which is why the problem is with Firefox. I am no longer able to log in to eBay using Firefox. I am using Firefox 78.15esu bc I have an older Mac that will only support up to Mac OSX 10.11. I was able to use eBay up until this morning when the site asked me to log in again... and verify that I am indeed a human through the hCaptcha checker. The checker cycles between identifying horses and lions... and every time, I seem to pass but then comes the message "Failed to pass Captcha, Please try again." I can access eBay using Safari and Chrome. Right before the failure today, the rendering of the eBay pages was odd... needed 3x the screen width to see the whole page. eBay says that the problem is on the Mozilla side of this issue... mostly because I can use a different browser without problem. I think I am in agreement with them. I don't really want to use a different browser but I will bc I like eBay, too. Please advise.

GENERAL REPEATED ISSUE IN MANY FORUM POSTS WITH INCOMPLETE RESPONSES:

THUNDERBIRD WILL CRASH IF IT IS LINKED TO A LARGE EMAIL SERVER. OFTENTIMES THIS IS GMAIL.

RECOMMENDATION IS TO DELETE THE NSTMP FILES WHICH ARE APPARENTLY AN ARCHIVE FILE.

ACTUAL RESOLUTION: REDUCE OVERALL EMAIL AND CREATE ARCHIVE FOLDERS.

CHANGE FROM IMAP TO POP3 SERVER SETTINGS.

INCREASING CACHE FILE SIZE DOES NOT HELP.

DELETING NSTMP FILES IS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION.

CLEARLY THIS IS A LOW LEVEL ISSUE THAT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, WHY FORUM USERS KEEP RECOMMENDING JUST DELETING THE NSTMP FILES IS PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE OTHER INTERESTS.

The last two versions of Thunderbird have an issue with any subfolder more than one level below the Inbox, - they attempt to sync then fail on IMAP. The folder structure is there, but none of the messages. This seems to have been an issue in the past as well (https://www.reddit.com/r/Thunderbird/comments/nrdr3n/anyone_else_having_problems_with_office365/), but has reoccured.

Any thoughts on where or how to fix this? Changing advanced settings on folder subscriptions haven't worked.

When going full-screen on video, the browser doesn't show the full-screen the first time.

For example, when I want to view a full-screen video on YouTube/Disney/Netflix/Prime Video, I select the full-screen button as usual. However the top left-hand side corners always show a thin blue hue. The thin blue hue only goes away when I leave full-screen and re-select it.

Any ideas on what might be causing this? My browser is up-to-date

Hi all,

On 19 Sept 2022, upon booting my Macbook Pro, Acronis popped up a message to advise that Firefox was infected with ransomware. It listed the files and asked if I wanted to delete or quarantine the files. I elected to quarantine them so that I could investigate the claim/issue. Acronis reported that the files were now quarantined. From that point on, I could not launch Firefox. I deleted the app, and downloaded the latest FF from Mozilla and installed it. When I attempt to launch it, a popup states that I do not have the required permission to launch the app. (see image) I have checked Acronis and have taken a screen shot of the problem files (see image). In an effort to clear the Macbook Pro of any residual issues, I ran a full scan with CleanMyMac X MAS, and cleared all caches and redundant files. This ran and reported the job done and zero malware found. Kaspersky Total also reports no malware found. I downloaded the current Mac release of FF again and installed it, but still cannot launch it because I don’t have the relevant permissions. The app properties have been checked and as Admin, I have all relevant permissions. However I still cannot launch FF browser. Any advice/recommendations would be welcome, as Firefox is my main browser, after Safari.

Since yesterday Thunderbird is unable to connect to the server and download new emails.

I got the following error message: "Non-overridable TLS error occurred. Handshake error or probably the TLS version or certificate used by the server mail.blacknight.com is incompatible."

I am running Thunderbird v102.2.2 for 4 days now but yesterday was the first time this error has appeared.

security.tls.version.min is set to 1. In fact, it has been set to 1 for more than a year now.

The host tells me everything is fine with the cert used by their server.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Since the latest update I've had numerous problems. I have multiple accounts in 4 profiles. The behavior is similar in all profiles, but particularly in my oldest account. At first, the account showed no folders and even had issues downloading messages. This account had thousands of messages in the inbox and dozens of folders where messages are filtered. This also happened on a few of the other accounts across the profiles.

I ran the Repair Folder and that seemed to fix the message download and the folders showed up again. But, since that time the filtering continues to report missing folders and turning off filters. I've even repaired many of those folders but after I turn the filter back on the system will report the folder missing and turn the filter off again. This isn't happening for ALL filters, but it continues to add more filters to its reporting and deactivating.

Any idea what seems to be going on here? I've had a lot of issues with TB email this year. Lost a large db after restoring it from a backup even though the files exist and look to have a large file size.

p.s. at one point I had over 21,000 messages in the main inbox. I deleted over 10,000 messages in one session but the total returned to over 21,000 a short while later. Many of the folders were cleaned out as well but didn't seem to have the problem of returning. Different issue though.

Since installing Thunderbird for windows v102.3.0 (32-bit), I can't dismiss a calendar event, which keeps looping to ask if I want to save or dismiss change for an "item changed on server" message. I rec'd the invite externally from Outlook. Neither option works; I can't delete the calendar entry either ... the event is stuck in an endless loop and will not dismiss. I'm now one day past the event date/time and still can't dismiss. Pls advise. Thank you.

On a new installation of Thunderbird, I can no longer see the emails that I have already read. They have not been deleted, since they are visible on another computer running an old Thunderbird. How do I fix this problem?
