Okay, so just as I have stated in the subject, this is my direct experience at this time. I've found on the forum people having trouble saving .html, but those were other issues unrelated to Firefox. I cannot find specific reports relating to my issue. To those, if you see this, who saved your web pages to .html (only or complete), did you open those files to check that you could read them? The unreliability of browsers in the past leads me to distrust this expectation that saved data is done and preserved without checking/validating.

Here is what I did. I saved a page (and for sake of accuracy and precision, it was search results from duckduckgo.com) to an .htm file. (Again, for sake of accuracy, I'll insert here that Windows Save As dialog box provides the "Save as type:" options list, which are: "Text Files", "Web Page, complete", and "Web Page, HTML only".) I chose "Web Page, HTML only"; now, while it says "HTML", Firefox creates the default extension of ".htm", so this is the extension used; and I simply used the default filename, no changes. Then, I simply went to my "Recent Items" menu in Start menu and opened the just saved file. It opens to a blank page, except for a very small text box with my search query in it and two little tiny buttons next to it; the content of the page is not displayed. (And, after post analysis, the file size was 7kb, which indicates that it did not really save all the data of the page content.) I then tried opening the file on a different computer with Firefox - same result. I also opened the same file with Chrome - same result. At least there is consistency here. Therefore, the conclusion must be that Firefox is not saving correctly.

There is no help to be given in this case, as I have done nothing wrong. I have done exactly as instructed by and to others in other forum posts and as described in other help pages on how to save web pages to a file. Everyone talks about the actions of how to do; but not about the results of reading saved output.

So, I make the post in hopes that this get to the developers to fix this problem. If this does not happen on all computers or in all situations (for all web pages) ... well, I think it still lies with Mozilla to fix it, because here is one case where it positively does not work! If my situation is unique, I do not know why ... and if it works for others (to save from duckduckgo) then I don't know why ... again, not for me to figure out; just take it as fact, this action of saving web pages in Firefox does not always work.

Thanks.

PS - I'm using SingleFile as an alternative work around (but I don't see why the "Save As" should not have worked perfectly for all of web browser history).

I need to reorder Firefox windows on the taskbar badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also it would be useful to have custom titles. Both things should persists after PC restart. I tried couple programs, but they don't work. Devs said: position of Firefox window on the taskbar is store in Firefox and their program has no way of remembering that! Also windows get randomly shuffled each time, it is impossible to use like this. It takes me forever to find right window. It is annoying the hell out of me. How Firefox dev team doesn't fix something that basic??? This is so stupid...

Please tell me there is some solution...

Good Day, We really like FireFox, after using it over recent years. However, this year it appears to be numerous problems. We do not load many thing on our computers, because the computer is there for our work not games or other uses. Our downloads are kept to a minimum, we use virus protection, and scan regularly enough.

FF freezes, too slow, and too regularly reminding of updates. So we dismiss, to avoid work disruption. So now when we do update, we are losing saved passwords, looks so it is not apparent which browser is up, and it is getting uncomfortable to use.

What happened this year?

Hi! Some days ago I started experiencing problems to load Google service webpages. For example sometimes youtube tells that there is a connection problem, when loading gmail I get " has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired". When I use other browser I can access to that services with no problem. I am in linux, and I have tried disabling all the add-ons, starting in "safe-mode" and rebooting my computer. At the beginning everything works fine, but after some time starts failing. I have tried with different Firefox versions, and the problems persists.

There is a large info box popping up in the bottom of the screen when I close tabs. I usually press 'x' and close tabs starting with the last one but this info box that says 'tab closed' and has an undo button on it, is covering a big portion of the last tab including it's 'x' button. It is even larger in landscape mode. This is very annoying and if I want to close another tab I'd have to wait for it to disappear or try to press around it. It's a useful feature but could the experience be made more better?

Possibly a question that has been asked before or could be extracted from the shortcuts page, but wording of the problem probably varies quite a bit.

In the address bar, when I want to go in one click to the first result that is not a search suggestion, is there a way to accomplish that (instead of arrow down for x amount of times)? A subpar alternative would then be to disable search suggestions of course.

Firefox has been putting that "update" thing in the right upper corner 10 times a day, knowing darn well that someday I'll click on the wrong button. Well, sure enough, I clicked on the "update" instead of the other option and now I'm stuck with this new version that I just don't like. I don't even know what the previous version I had was! Does anyone know what was the last version before this major change? I want it back!

The appearance of my bookmarks has recently changed, and I want to change it back. The individual bookmarks are spread out more, so now they take up more space on my screen and I need to scroll the list. I don't need the extra space, I find it annoying and not at all necessary. I have included images of how it looks now and (a doctored image, granted) approximately how it looked before. I've looked all over and I can't find anything on "Appearance of bookmarks".

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello all. I seem to have a new version of Firefox installed on my computer, or an update has made it a newer version (89) and now it does not save my passwords. When I close down the laptop and re start it the next time I want to use it and go to firefox, none of the paswords I had thought I'd saved previously are there. This is very frustrating as I have a lot of places I visit which I had, in previous times using an earlier version of firefox, saved passwords which populated the correct places. I am no techie so really don't understand what has happened. Every time I want to get onto even my email, I have to leaf through my black book to find the necessary password and do it all manually.

Please can anyone help?

I am one of the numerous users of Firefox browser but having problem to use my Android smartphone phone (Itel S15 Pro) camera to scan Firefox QR despite giving the camera permission in my phone's settings. Having displayed Firefox QR on my laptop screen, I open Firefox browser and tap the scan button on my phone Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard which opens the scanner page. I directed the camera to the QR on my laptop to scan the QR. Attempt to open my Firefox mobile account through this address: https://accounts.firefox.com/m/hCkG9GTw is made but will not open even with the refreshing of the process several times.

I have attached a number of screen shots of my actions to get through the whole process which you can piece together to help me solve the problem.
