How can I remove the time display from the date column in the messages. The Date and or Received Columns always add the time and therefore waste space as I want to change the column width.

I have tried using the Config Editor and changed the numbers offered, 1-2-3-4 to no avail. I am missing something.

I am using Firefox as a multi-tab courseware viewer but need to block the user bringing up the Library page as then the user can see the courseware URL's - I am running it on AWS AppStream and can lock most features down., but this one eludes me - there seems to be no policy to block it. I have tried intercepting keystrokes at the GNOME level and autoconfig javascript to block keys. Is there a way to do this please? Blessings, Ian

Sometimes I got a problem with Gmail where I get the error "Too many simultaneous connections", both desktop and Android. I found that Gmail servers support 15 connections. I could reduce the number of connections for desktop in the config editor, but I would like how to do that in the Android app. Some times it creates a lot of connections, and I think the numbers stack up together with dead connection when I reboot my router and get a new IP, so I'm wondering how to set to get just one or two simultaneous connections on Android.

I'm running Thunderbird 140.5.0esr (32-bit) on Windows 10 Pro Build 19045. After the last few updates the columns in the email listings are changing widths from what I've set them, this seems to happen after I close then reopen Thunderbird; which I'm having to do more often these days to resolve weird calendar malfunctions. For instance, the data column would appear so narrow that only the month/day show with "..." at the end, when I know I've looked at this yesterday with the full view of the date and time showing. I've reviewed my options and I've set them individually, set them globally and it makes no difference. Of course I've rebooted, etc. I have over a hundred local folders and they all change differently, of course some look the same but others don't. Most have the same column headings selected but it doesn't seem to matter. Some have the "Correspondents" column selected but many don't.

This is very irritating and I'd like to know why Thunderbird is doing this, and more importantly, how can I prevent this behavior in the future. Thanks,

I have one file folder that I moved certain files to that once read, they are not visible or listed in the folder. The folder massage count is 296. When I move an email into the folder and it is not read, I can see the message. Once read, it disappears. I can filter by attachments and contacts and see some but not all of the messages.

I am trying to edit my message separator line (which I added many years ago). Now there is a big gap in the line and messages. How can I reduce this gap please? Any advice?

Using https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1544905 as an example I placed this in my profile's userchrome.css and restarted thunderbird:

   border: 10px solid red;

}

It seems not to be working in thunderbird 148.0.1 (64-bit on windows 11).

So I found the today panel in the debugger and added border: 10px solid red; to its element. That worked perfectly, as the attached image confirms. It also confirms the class is correct and that it contains the today relation.

I can't see the userchrome.css file in the debugger, which seems strange. But I edited the body colour in userchrome.css and that worked, so I know the file is being used. So why is the change to the today panel being ignored?

I know nothing about the dev options for Internet settings and minor turned on and it says the remote server is set to production. No flipping idea what this is. Can somebody please help me?

I am using Thunderbird on my arm64 Linux machines (Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 and my Odroid C2) and I want Thunderbird to send the correct platform information in the User-Agent line. After enabling Thunderbird to sent the full User-Agent line the following information is currently sent:

User agent:Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:140.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/140.0 Thunderbird/140.9.0

Everything is correct except for 'x86_64'. I would like to have sent the actual 'arm64' information because I'm proud using my small ARM64 machines as workstations and as a replacement for classic PCs and I do want to have this information distributed with every mail I am sending with Thunderbird.

Is there an easy way to get the correct information about my arm64 machines into the User agent line?

Is there a way to determine which emails, from a list view, have been synchronized/made available offline?

I always assumed there would be a column that flagged the "offline availability" in the Table view, but I could not find anything.

And I can confirm my implicit understanding, that headers can be listed in offline mode, but if the email itself hasn't been downloaded, you will see the following if you try to open the email:

""" Go Online to View This Message

The body of this message has not been downloaded from the server for reading offline. ... """

But I have come across circumstances where the complete email is available offline. Would be good to be able to readily identify/determine which emails are and aren't.

Currently all the function buttons - delete, move, mark unread etc - are positioned at the top of the Android UI. This makes it necessary to use 2 hands to check emails, which not everyone is able to do. For the rest of us it slows down work flow substantially which is infuriating. Is there any way to move these buttons to the bottom or side of the screen? If not, please add this capability ASAP. I will have to revert to Fairmail until it's fixed.

I have three email accounts. On each of the accounts when I am in the in box, clicking on or hitting enter does not open up he email but instead opens of a reply to the sender in a new tab. This is new! I have looked on line and have tried all of the following except fixing the Folder Flag add on as I do not have that installed: In the Drafts and Templates section, I confirmed that the Drafts folder on: is set to your actual Drafts folder and not your Inbox (although the Drafts folder is in my inbox). I did try and create a Draft folder outside the Inbox but could not. I have set the value for mail.openMessageBehavior to 0. However every time I look at it it seems to be changed back to 2 The issues happens even in troubleshoot mode with add ons (I only have one) disabled I rebuilt the Global Database by renaming global-messages-db.sqlite and restarting Thunderbird. I cannot install FolderFlags extension as it is not compatible with Thunderbird 149

Sliding items sideways to delete them is a real problem in the Collections section. The slide detection isn't very sensitive so even with an accidental flick of a finger it deletes a link without any way to undo it. I have deleted far more links by accident in this way than I have ever deleted any on purpose.

Is there a way to disable this feature, or at least turn it off till I really need it? Or can Mozilla add an undo feature for this? Thanks.

This is a personal computer, not associated with any organization. I do not believe it to be necessary on this browser. If it is, please advise. If it is not necessary, please tell me how to disable,deactivate, or remove it. This message only appears in firefox. I don't know where it came from and therefore I do not trust it being there. If it was placed there BY fire fox, also please advise.
