I first installed Video Download Helper several weeks ago and it worked fine. However, since the update of 04 March, 2026, it no longer works with YouTube. (It does, however, still work with Instagram.) Having checked all of the settings (which I had/have not changed), I uninstalled it today and then re-installed it. This hasn't helped. With YouTube, the Downloader icon (pinned to toolbar) simply remains grey and does not show any videos when opened. I am using the latest, fully updated version of Firefox with Windows 10.

Can anyone help, please?

This is only an issue in Firefox, so it's not an issue with my ISP or anything. Chrome shows my location correctly. Around 2 weeks ago after an update to firefox, it's just been constantly showing my location as Dublin. I'm in the UK. Certain sites show it correctly, some don't. Google doesn't show it right.

Several sites i check show it in the UK correctly, but google and a couple others show as in Dublin. I only run a limited number of extensions, Ublock surfshark, and bitwarden. If I put a uk location on surfshark, then google is right, but turning it off and then it is back to ireland.

How can I disable various Firefox usage hints? I've uploaded an example of one of these hints associated with the List all Tabs button. This hint pops up every time I start Firefox. There are other hints like the attached that appear from time to time.

This doesn't appear to be a bug. During a recent Firefox update, I believe I either checked a box to show me these hints or I failed to uncheck the appropriate box. I haven't figured out how to discontinue these hints (via Internet search, Firefox support search, or me poking around in Firefox settings).

I'm running desktop Firefox on Windows 11 Home, version 10.0.26200 build 26200.

When copying from an outside tab then use paste value only into a Google Sheets tab, whether using shortcut or the drop down menu, it seems to first paste properly then show a "paste" dialog box that couldn't be removed. Any other input seems to paste again, taking from the last copy before the current one. Copying from another Google Sheets tab seems to have the same result but instead of the dialog box, it double paste, as described previously, immediately. Testing in Chrome seems to work as usual and clearing the cache has not help. Issues seems to arise since the latest update to Firefox.

After updating to version 149.0, videos on hdrezka.tv do not start after clicking the play button.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open any video on hdrezka.tv.
  2. Click the Play button.

Actual result: The player stays inactive or shows a loading icon.

Expected result: The video should start playing.

Note: I have tested this on version 148.2 and it works perfectly. Upgrading to 149.0 or 150.0 Beta breaks it. Reinstalling 148.2 fixes the issue.

Dear all,

for two days (as of march 21) any search request is denied, no results are despayed. Instead a message window pops up: "Error: Routing error", the requested website (here: duckduckgo.com) would send the request into an endless loop. This problem only occurs using the mac-version of FF 148.02. The moblile version runs as normal, and another browser, Safari, works as he should.

I tested all my add-ins (switching off and on), private mode produces the same result. So, could you give a hint, is it (my) single, private issue?

Earlier this week, I was able to view routes in the Routes section of Strava without any issues. Since the recent browser update, that feature is no longer working for me.

Strava is one of the websites I use most frequently, and being able to access routes is important to my daily use. I’ve confirmed that the feature still works in Safari, but I would strongly prefer to continue using my current browser.

I also went through Strava’s help chatbot, and they indicated the issue is likely browser-related. Since this was functioning earlier in the week and has since stopped, I wanted to report the problem and see if there’s a fix or workaround available.

When trying to set Firefox to open a file on Windows 11, it is overwritten by Firefox Nightly. I have both branches installed.

This is how it goes when attempting to set Firefox as a default application in my machine:

  1. "Apps > Default Apps"
  2. .mp4 (for example)
  3. click the button below that displays the current default application
  4. Firefox Nightly appears in this menu
  5. "Choose an app on your PC"
  6. "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" ... "firefox.exe" ... "Open"
  7. Firefox Nightly remains in this menu

I cannot get Firefox to appear as an available app in this menu. The only workaround, although inconvenient, is to drag and drop files straight into Firefox.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

(Sorry if I wasted anyone's time. The issue turned out to be my large external monitor for one of my computers. When I was not using it, the smaller laptop screen did not allow all Firefox setting pop-up windows to display fully, so I could not see what I was used to seeing. When I connected it again to my large external monitor, everything was fine. That is why the other computer had no issues.

(So it had nothing to do with Firefox at all, and I am sorry if anyone read my question! Thanks.)

Since one of the latest updates, Firefox keeps randomly showing me a popup saying "pin this tab", pointing to a tab I just opened. I close it with its X button, but after a while it just pops up again. I don't want to pin a tab, ever - I have bookmarks for a reason and I don't see any point in this feature. How do I stop this incredibly annoying popup from bugging me constantly to do something I never want to do?

When I opened up Firefox this evening, websites stopped working if "DNS over HTTPS" is set to "Max Protection". In some instances, such as YouTube, the website loads, but it acts like you're offline and tells me to turn on my Wi-Fi even though it's already on and running fine. Weirdly, it seems that setting DNS over HTTPS to Max Protection, loading a website, set DNS over HTTPS to a lower setting, and then reloading the website fixes the issue, but it'd still be nice if we didn't have to go through the hassle at all. Hello, I am using Linux Mint on a desktop with the latest version of Firefox. Two weeks ago I could login to the Discover website with no problems. Suddenly I can not log in, but get an error message that something is wrong and I can't login. I can login using Chrome on this machine. My wife gets the same message when she tried to login to her account on my computer. After several discussions with Discover, all I get is "it is not our problem."

I am having no problems logging into other accounts with Firefox on this computer.

I have not explicitly changed anything on the browser or computer. I have done some updates which included Firefox. I can login on a different Linux computer using an older version of Firefox. Of course the updates were also to the computer and I will ask the same question to the Linux forum.

I really like Firefox and would hate to have to change to Chrome.

Following a recent Firefox update, 1.48.0 I think, the search box in the middle of the page no longer works, any attempt to type there ends up in the address bar. I have tried setting "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar" to false and other suggested fixes on the internet but it made no difference. I've been using the profile manager, and wanted to delete a profile that i have made. However, when i select the option to delete it, it only opens up a new tab in the profile called "about:deleteprofile', which displays an empty page and does nothing. Then, I would try to delete the profile manually, in the profiles folder, but if I opened firefox or restarted my computer, it would just come back. I have attatched the relevant images below.

My computer crashed and after restarting I have lost my account data including profiles, history, bookmarks, extensions, open tabs, etc.

I have tried the basic methods suggested online like looking for hidden profiles, finding a folder for old Firefox data on the desktop, restoring from apparent backups that are meant to be there, etc. The account should have been logged in all this time and had sync on, which is not working... but should there be some sort of sync history I can restore from? Or a local backup from somewhat recently?

Can you please help with the following scenario.

Both, a Firefox sync master account and Firefox Relay extension are active when running the browser.

So, is it possible to change the master email addresses of both features (+ secondary email) ? I would like to use a new email address for authenticating in both features of Mozilla, but do not want to set up new accounts.

How can I do that in Firefox Sync and Relay?
