Hi, I wish to use firefox to read my html files stored on the sd card.

  1. If I try to open it with a file browser such MIUI file browser, X-plore or Total Commander, Firefox doesn't shows up in the options (I have Chrome, MIUI browser and others too).
  2. If I try to navigate to it with file:///...myfile.html in the address bar (actually copy-pasting the url from one of the file browsers, no chanche to remember it otherways) it launches a serach on duckduckgo instead of opening the file itself.

I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with MIUI 11.0.2, firefox86.1.1, and the archive permission already set for firefox. My wish is to enable the first option, of course, the second would be just a work around. Thank you

This thread will probably get archived and locked, but I'll restart another one anyway. Firefox seems to be degenerating in terms of UX an stability, and especially if people are running custom OSs like lineage OS, it's unlikely that the latest android version will actually install at all. As a result, a lot of people are installing older versions of firefox, especially versions which allow access to "about:config" so firefox can be modified to be usable.

When googing for this, there are a lot of non-mozilla websites offering downloads, filled with God knows what malware added. It would be better if there was a permanent archive of all the previous versions, including the nightlys, so that people could at least access the older, working, versions from a trusted source. You might think this would be a bad security choice, but the current situation is worse.

Hello there :)

I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox on my Android device and I still have some usability issues. Every time I open a new bookmark, FF opens a new tab which results in 6-7 tabs after a short time as I often switch between different websites (e.g. to browse news on different websites). Is there a possibility to open a website from my bookmarks in the same tab? I didn't find anything in the settings...

Thanks very much

Okay, Hi everyone,

Here's my question and I'll try to be distinct as possible... Going through hard times at the moment, and my Internet to the house got turned off... temporarily I Hope. I'm wanting to know if there's any possible way 2 get or sink my bookmarks from my PC to my Android phone that is on the internet, although I know that's not going to matter because the PC is not. I am hooked up to it through USB through the router in my home and also via Bluetooth. Is there any way to make this work?

Now I have gone in and exported the bookmark to an HTML. I saved them to a folder. Then I was able to move those that HTML over to the phone via USB. But I find no way to import them from the Android phone from that file. Please help of you can...

I can swipe up and close every other app, but when I minimize the open Firefox window and swipe up to close, the Firefox will move toward top of screen and then "bounce" back to center. A pop-up appears that I can click to 'clear all' which will close Firefox but that's only way I can close it. Can you please help?

Mozzila VPN on Android sometimes appear to automatically turn itself off.

The explaination could be in your settings on Android: Go to settings, - select Apps, - - choose Mozzilla VPN in the list, - - - go to Battery and select background Use,

go back to Mozzilla VPN in the list, - - - go to Mobile Data, - - - - turn On "Allow Background Data Usage" - - - - turn On "Allow App while Data saver is On"

now your VPN shouldn't turn off any longer.

When restarting your phone the explaination why the Mozilla VPN is OFF is that to keep your security, the app requires re-authenticating with their servers (new encryption key).
