I have been using Thunderbird for ages now with no problem, but I suddenly realised that no recent emails were appearing from my Gmail account. I have tried everything suggested on line to resolve the problem, including uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird, and deleting and re-entering my acccount details but neither the IMAP or SMTP servers will connect to Gmail. I have reset all of the server settings on Thunderbird, and have checked that Gmail is IMAP compliant (which, apparently, is is now automatically). I have spent hours trying to sort this out and am just at the point of abandoning Thunderbird completely, but I am loathe to do so if there is a solution. The latest error message i have received is "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password" but I don't know what else I can check or change.

Importing CSV address books does not work properly. The resulting folder cannot be accessed by emails to be sent.

The imported Address Lists cannot be used in an email as a list. The error message is that the address is not a valid email address. However, if a new Address List is created with the contents of the imported file manually copied, then it can be used as an email address.

I also found that clicking on an individual address in the imported csv, will open the individual email address.

So the addresses are valid but the list is corrupted.

I cannot send from an Office365 account but can get mail - it simply says 'sending' but nothing happens.

I am using Owl (paid subscription) for my Office365 account.

I also have another email that is a simple IMAP account and that works beautifully!

I have a few folders I need deleting.

They do not appear in my webmail (mailserver) but do in Thunderbird - I have tried so many methods on your forums, but nothing is working - can you help?

For some time now my primary email address gets wiped clean every night and is empty every morning. I have to transfer received mail to another input address to keep it safe!

I have a CardDAV address book on a Nextcloud instance that i want to sync to Thunderbird.

When i open Address Book and the clikc on " Create a new address book" the Account Hub modal window opens. None of the 4 options (including Add Remote Address Book" do anything, i.e. I can click as much as I like but nothing happens.

I send out golf group e-mails. I have myself (e-mail address) in the group, so it will also come back to me. The server keeps rejecting my group e-mails because it says my e-mail address is incorrect, I have checked it several times and it is correct. I even edited it to be sure. Why is the server still rejecting it?

Using Acronis True Image for Western Digital (ver 2025 build 41936) to backup my files on a daily basis. Recently the backup program has been stopping and reporting that it cannot access some Thunderbird files, even when Thunderbird was not running (1st image) I tried 'Compacting all Folders' in Thunderbird but the result was the same (2nd image). Lastly, I tried clearing the cache - the result is the same. In all cases Thunderbird was not running during the backup.

i realize that this is not a Thunderbird issue, but I've been unable to get help elsewhere. I wondered if anyone might have a solution since Acronis apparently sees the file as being accessed - is there a way to remove that?

I have the Thunderbird desktop installed on windows 10 computers that are blocked from any internet browsing. I am not able to find instructions on how to share calendars between computers.

I am able to export and import calendars between computers, but the events only show up in the side bar as tasks. We want to be able to edit the shared calendar from any computer.

When Thunderbird is started maximized it overlap taskbar if is set to hide and taskbar won't show until Thunderbird is minimized and maximized. Another way is to press the Win key two times. Then the hided taskbar can be shown/use. The same thing happens to Firefox. Only when is first started. Then if Firefox is minimized and maximized, press Win key two times, press F11 two times then the hided taskbar show/hide normal.

It is a setting that can be changed to start Thunderbird and Firefox in full screen and do not overlap hided taskbar?

for some reasons I need to downgrade a TB installation (Mac silicon 148.0.1) to the ESR channel, 140.8.1esr for Mac silicon.

I read articles in the KB where Mozilla discourages this, but I would avoid to move 15Gb circa of emails by hand copying and pasting them...

So is there anyone that has tried this before? Any suggestion how to do it without loosing e-mail in th process?

Hi there. I'm looking for a shortcut that takes me from the folderlist pane to the message pane and the first new message, when I'm on the inbox folder. The tab is not good. It moves between to many fields/options.

I deleted my Thunderbird account and created a new one on the same computer. I used a Profile saved on my external hard drive. The address book info was replicated. The hierarchy of folders and their emails were not replicated in the left hand pane. Is there a way to retrieve those folders with their content? Please, I am not super techno-savvy, so take me step by step. Thank you.

Hi. I access a gmail account via Thunderbird. It's generally quite efficient, but recently it has become very sluggish. I have pretty fast internet, wired at 1G, so usually my mail appears almost immediately. In the last week or so it has slowed down dramatically, sometimes requiring multiple login attempts. Any idea what's going on? Thanks. Steve

I can receive mail fine. Cannot send mail on gmx.co.uk acct, but gmx.net works on oauth2. But oauth2 is missing on gmx.co.uk It's just not on the pulldown. I tried a new thunderbird acct for gmx.co.uk but oauth2 is still missing.
