How can I change my email password in Thunderbird ??? - my account password has been deleted in Thunderbird and I wish to re-enter a new password. Please reply to [edited email from community support forum] @gmail.com

I had TB on my desktop for years and finally got it also synced to my phone. Then with a failure with Windows 11 had to wipe clean the desktop and start over. Cannot reinstall TB. I obviously have the correct e-mail and password as I was able to log into Mozilla and submit this question. I believe it is a problem with my user name and what is on my phone setup does not work with my desktop reinstallation.

depuis le 10 mars 12 h ma boîte mail thunderbird ne reçoit plus aucun message et je ne peux en envoyer aucun. j'ai un message  : échec de l'authentification lors de la connection au serveur. Mon serveur Yahoo me demande de me reconnecter, ce qui s'avère impossible à faire. Je précise que je n'avais pas touché à mon compte en amont.

The summary says it all, really. I've tried all sorts of Google searches and fixes, but nothing works; I was originally on Netscape Navigator, and after Microsoft killed that off, I went to Firefox and Thunderbird - so 'lost in the mists of time ' sums up my problem.

I need help setting my passwords in Mozilla and Firefox. I'm also confused as to what is the difference between the 2 entitities. If there is anyone to guide me would be appreciated.

Hello. Firefox saves my password but not my email address on Royal Caribbean's website. I have tried everything possible but still will not work. I know how to save passwords and email address. All my other websites will open just fine, but not RC. I always have to type in my email address. Chrome does open up both my password and email address. I used AI and did everything it said to do with Firefox and still does not work. I have windows 11. If you have windows 11 try it and see if it works for you. Any help would be appreciated. My email works at first, then after a while it says incorrect password and asks for my password. I enter the correct password (100% correct) and it says wrong password, and it won't work again until I start the computer next time and enter my password. (it works, downloads my email, then after a while it all repeats) Thunderbird. (recent download) Windows 11.

My email account is set up with 2fa with an app-specific password for Thunderbird. I manually updated all the info in Passwords, but TB still won't connect. Under Setup it keeps saying "Authentication failed: Check username and password" but both are entered correctly. Under "YourLogin", I have re-entered two different formats but still fails. I also set the SMTP server settings to match email account.

  I've been fighting this for too many hours.  Can somebody help me get connected?

My internet provider has required a new account password for my wife’s Thunderbird account. We have changed the account with the provider, but I cannot figure out how to change it in Thunderbird so she can logon and send email without having to re-enter the password each time. Several online searches have provided various “solutions” that lead to non-existent menu choices.

This shouldn’t be this hard! Is there a way to address this with a phone call to a knowledgeable real human being??

I have been logged out of my gmail account on my iPad but am still logged into my gmail account on thunderbird. I would like to access my password so I can login on iPad or at least transfer my thunderbird account to ipad.

My school email's storage and emails will expire end of today (June 30th, 11:59 PM EST). I accidentally thought the account would just be frozen at that time, but realized they would be deleting the account all together for universities alumni.

When I downloaded Thunderbird to transfer my emails, I'm logging in, but I'm getting prompted to log in to Microsoft rather than Gmail for some reason. The email should be Google Workspace. I'd love to know what's going on as I'm not sure and my school's IT support said it's a problem with Thunderbird as it should be gmail for me.

Anyone know of any fixes or suggestions?

When I log into thunderbird, warning messages keep coming up asking me to input my password. The messages keep coming even when I put in the password. It takes a long time to download messages and almost allways blocks me sending. I have to to my providers webmail to do any work.

Seit Ende Januar 2026 kann ich keine e-Mails mehr empfangen. Klicke ich auf den Button "Nachrichten empfangen", erscheint folgende Meldung: Anmeldung auf dem Server secureimap.t-online.de mit Benutzernamen "[edited]@t-online.de" fehlgeschlagen. Über mein Handy kann ich die eingegangen E-Mail ansehen. Warum auf meinem Laptop nicht?

Bisher habe ich noch nie ein Passwort eingegeben. Was muss ich machen?

I can't log into an email from my health site called MyMercy to get lab reports, etc., using Firefox; Have to switch to Google Chrome to do it. Is Firefox aware of this issue? Please respond [edited email from community support forum]
