I want to change my g-mail password but before I stop getting mails in Thunderbird I looked for how I will do that in Thunderbird. I find there is NO WAY to change a password in Thunderbird and there is no current password listed either. I find that ridiculous not to be able to change a password and zero instructions anywhere. Pretty stupid ! Someone with some brains at Mozilla needs to come up with an update for Thunderbird to add a way to change a password. Can't add an image because I don't want to give away any private information.

Problems with Outlook & Hotmail Accounts in Thunderbird.
Recently some relatively new Outlook & Hotmail accounts were created on the Microsoft site then I attempted to include them into my Thunderbird program. I logged into each account and sent a number of emails around to each other and to other existing gmail accounts, no problems there.
When the Outlook AC was included into Thunderbird I received the following message "Thunderbird was unable to find connected services", then on the next screen in Thunderbird it said "Email account connected successfully". However when I looked at this account there was a single line saying 'Inbox', but there was no emails in there. I was able to send an email from both the Outlook and Hotmail configurations in Thunderbird, but not receive any emails.
I then modified the IMAP configuration in the Hotmail account according to directions given to me late last week from a member of the Thunderbird Community. This did not make any difference in that still no emails were received on the Hotmail account in Thunderbird.
For completeness I summarise the settings on both the Outlook & Hotmail accounts. The Outlook account settings are what Thunderbird set when the account was set up in Thunderbird, the Hotmail account settings were changed as per suggestion.
Outlook Account: In Server (IMAP) - 'outlook.office365.com', Port = 993, SSL/TLS OAuth2
Out Server - 'smtp-mail.outlook.com', Port = 587, STARTTLS, oAuth2
Hotmail Account: In server (IMAP) - 'imap-mail.outlook.com', Port = 993, SSL/TLS, Normal Password
Out server - 'smtp-mail.outlook.com', Port = 587, STARTTLS, oAuth2
Finally, every time I open up Thunderbird I get the flowing message on the screen "Enter your password for account *** on imap-mail.outlook.com:", then after I hit the Cancel button I get the message "Login to server *** failed". If instead I enter the password for the account I get a message saying "Login to server imap-mail.outlook.com with username *** failed".
If I click on either account then hit the Import button I get the Import Tool. When I select the option 'Import from Outlook' radio button the then get a message saying "No profile found" in red.
In Firefox, on another PC, I go to the outlook.live.com site and I can login to both my Outlook and to my Hotmail email accounts separately.
I finally note that my Thunderbird is version 140.1.0esr (64-bit)

Hi,
the password manager in Firefox on iOS has become practically useless (for me) with somewhat recent releases. Privately and for work I have different passwords on different sites within the same domain (site1.example.com, site2.example.com, etc.). While Firefox saves passwords for these correctly, and is able to recall them correctly in the desktop version, the iOS version simply presents *all* stored credentials for 'example.com' with no way to tell them apart.
Please restore the earlier behaviour here. If there are passwords for the subdomain/hostname I'm trying to access, then only present those. Fall back to the second-level domain only if no passwords are stored for the current hostname.
Thank you! Wbr, very very long time Mosaic/Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox user

Hi,
Firefox android provides no master password/primary password protection so passwords in the Firefox password manager are protected only by your lockscreen swipe(yeah, I thought the same thing you just thought).
I need full protection like on Desktop or I can't sync my passwords to Firefox. However, when temporarily enabling password sync on desktop, for example between two desktop devices it also temporarily enables it on android Firefox that you might have synced as well. The upshot of this for me is that I now have all my passwords on android without wanting them there for the above reasons.
So, how do I remove all passwords on my firefox android, without having to reinstall Firefox on the phone?

It's puzzling when you ask "Why does my Gmail automatically sign out?" after setting it up in Thunderbird, especially since desktop email clients usually maintain a continuous connection. The message "You have been signed out of this account. This may have happened automatically because another user signed in from the same browser" strongly suggests a conflict, but it's typically a browser-related error, not a direct Thunderbird logout.
The most likely culprit for Thunderbird losing access to your Gmail is an authentication issue. Modern Gmail access in Thunderbird relies on OAuth2, a secure protocol. If the OAuth2 token becomes invalid or expires, or if Thunderbird's internal web component (used for the OAuth2 login pop-up) has issues like cookies being disabled, it can repeatedly prompt you for login.
Less common, but possible, are: Google's security systems detecting unusual activity and temporarily blocking access, or, if you're not using OAuth2 and have 2-Step Verification enabled, an expired or revoked App Password. While less direct, a concurrent, conflicting sign-in in a web browser using the same Google account could also contribute to Google invalidating sessions.
To resolve this, ensure your Thunderbird Gmail account is configured to use OAuth2 for both incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server settings. Also, verify that Thunderbird is allowed to accept cookies under its Privacy & Security settings, as this is crucial for the OAuth2 process. Removing saved passwords for the Gmail account in Thunderbird and then restarting it can force a fresh OAuth2 re-authentication.

I have been using Thunderbird to access four GMAIL accounts for many years without any problems. Yesterday , due to articles about GMAIL being hacked, I changed the password on all four accounts - same password used on all four.
When I bring up Thunderbird I get the following message : Authentication failure while trying to connect to server imap.gmail.com
Three of the accounts are working fine. The fourth account I can not receive Emails on. When I try to send ab Email from this account I get: Login in to server smtp.gmail.com with user name xxx failed. Unable to authenticate outgoing server SMTP. This account works fine in Gmail.
All the account settings in Thunderbird are the same. Accept cookies, SSL/TLS , OAuth2, server imap.gmail.com, port465. I am running the latest version of Thunderbird.
I was wondering if the easiest way to fix this is to delete this account from Thuderbird and re-add it?
Thanks in advance for your help - Marty

new password for email has been accepted by the server host but not being recognized by Thunderbird.
IE: I can sign in to sprctrum.net but cannot add xxx@tampabay.rr.com email address to Thunderbird. I have gone to settings/passwords and first simply changed the existing password to a new one (the same as spectrum.net). Didn't work, then I deleted the whole account in passwords and tried to add it back in but still got this same message.

For the past two days I've been getting a popup in one of my Thunderbird email accounts stating that the password/login has failed and giving me three options, Retry, Enter new Password, or Cancel. I've tried doing all 3, and nothing works - it just keeps bringing me back to that same popup. I normally don't need to enter a password to access my emails, and my other email address is working just fine. What's up?? Thanks for your help!!

looked up sources best solution would be to try manual mode; states: "At the bottom of the left pane, click the Account Actions button and select Add Mail Account…." My version I don't have this option
