I have been signing in to a certain secure website for years on Firefox. In the last 24 hours, it won't let me sign in and all I see is:

"Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit."

I have tried 20 times. There is nothing wrong on the website; my wife can access the same on her Mac computer.

Any advice? Thank you

I have an AOL mail account, which I access using Thunderbird., and get 1000s of mostly promotional emails I want to delete. To mass-delete them, I use the following process: 1) sort by correspondent - this helps group the numerous promotional emails together as many are from the same senders; e.g: the 1,000 emails from ACME-JUNQUE will all be grouped together, followed by 500 from ACME-KUNQUE, followed by 900 from ACME-LUNQUE etc. 2) using the left-click then control-shift method I then highlight all or most of ACME-JUNK's emails and possibly also those of ACME-KUNQUE, depending how many I want to try to delete at once. 3) I then right-click and choose "delete selected messages". The actual deletion process that follows can take some time depending on how many emails I've selected to delete.

BUT - I then find that not all were deleted; I can see this easily when I look at the inbox counter. This seems to depend on the quantity. I can delete maybe up to a few hundred at once but beyond that they don't seem to get deleted. It's as if Thunderbird (or the AOL service) can only handle so many at once and the rest fall of the list. I will try to do some tests to quantify this - but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, is there a useful workaround? thank you

Today I tried using a Socks5 proxy that requires user and password. It seems that this is still unsupported as already concluded in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1237174 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122752

Any news on this?

ich benötige Eure Hilfe. Ich habe vor kurzem eine Kündigung (9.1.24) an einem Dienstleister (Positionshelden.de) per Mail gesendet.

Diese hat er angeblich nie erhalten und fordert nun den SMTP Bericht als Nachweis. Anbei die Forderung und Mail seitens Positionshelden.de

für den rechtlichen Nachweis Ihrer Kündigung benötigen wir einen SMTP-Sendebericht mit Briefkopf des E-Mail-Providers. Diesen können Sie von Ihrem E-Mail-Provider erhalten.

Bitte senden Sie uns den entsprechenden Sendebericht bis spätestens 26.02.2024 zu, damit wir Ihre Kündigung sorgfältig überprüfen können.

Yesterday morning everything was fine. I attempted to check something last night on my Fidelity account, and got the following message: "Sorry, we can't complete this action right now. Please try again." Same this morning. Fidelity could not figure it out, and is sending me to you for assistance.

FYI: I am able to connect to all other accounts I attempted: NY Times, Chase bank, etc. Also, when I tried to log in to Fidelity via Microsoft Edge, I was able to get in. (NOTE: I DO NOT wish to use Edge or any other browser - I prefer Firefox)

Can someone help me?

I want to use my Tbird address books as my contact data "warehouse." Can someone help me?

Tbird has a set of preferred data attributes for IMPORT into address books. I find articles and postings that discuss (1) create & open an addressbook; (2) browse & select the CSV data file; etc. Where do I find detailed preparation for a CSV that Tbird will digest?

On import, Tbird tries to match file column with Tbird preferred columns. This never works for me. I routinely see whole records with multiple "quoted", "fields" in one column but cannot find a reason why that happens.

Must I import an exact & complete Tbird CSV? Must column names match exactly in name and in order? May Tbird skip blank/empty columns where my data does not include info that Tbird wants?

After all of the above, my contact data is in numerous forms that I convert somehow that I can then obtain a CSV. I receive the data as email or shared document or some scanned to PDF or JPG. THANK YOU, LINUX for piped command chains and scripted work flow.

I need to be able to take screenshots of entire emails with all the visuals etc. Some of them do not have links to 'view in browser'.

The Thunderbird email window only shows part of an email before needing to scroll down.

Is there a way or an add on that would allow me to take a screenshot of the full email instead of taking screenshots of various sections and piecing them together later?

I do not know how I got there, but I somehow got into a situation where I could push a button 'Refresh', or in Dutch 'Opfrissen'. Firefox then started to remove settings and extensions. Which is all well documented if you know it. But the user interface is just crap here. Especially in Dutch. Because 'opfrissen' is something that sounds totally innocent in my native language. I at most expected it to remove some cache memory. The last thing I expect pushing a button with that name is that it does what it did, without any warning! PLEASE change that. And please do not translate it with 'opfrissen', just explicitly say: Go back to standard configuration and remove extensions. I am not dumb that I could not understand what that should do. Opfrissen.... Pfff, please change at least the translation!

And I got really angry when it happened!

I am one among many who keep a lot of windows open for reference. When my compootie shuts down inadvertantly I am avle to use "Restore Session" to get these back. But occasionally the system shuts down and I am unable to restore anything, and this can cost me tens of hours os referencing, and untold hours of productivity.

Could you save the open windows in an easily accessible file that we could use to restore previous sessions? This would save a lot of us considerable grief.

I occasionally get this message when opening Firefox, but a retry always works. Not when trying to get into my Ooma account. And yet it works without any problem on Safari. I would prefer to use Firefox.

Also, I just wanted to restore the Basic Toolbar- that mysteriously disappeared. There was no option for that under the hamburger & more tools. Instead I now have a 3rd toolbar because of the customization options -- & I don't know how to get rid of that/ It appears UNDER my tabs bar.

Mac Mail on my 2016 iMac running Monterrey does not work properly. After installing Thunderbird I could not get Thunderbird to set up an account to replace my iCloud Mail account. Thunderbird was unable to log on. The user name and password were correct. Is there something special that has to be done for iCloud Mail accounts?

v115.7.0 I have been a user and contributor for years. OS is still Win7. I have had a IMAP connection to Comcast for years, now it will not connect. I have made sure I am using the correct password. When I start thunderbird, a secondary window pops up with the error message unable to connect. WEnt thru lots of posts but no results. One interesting said to disable IPV6 security option, but the way they described the fix was to access thry the EDIT menu then Preferences, but my system does not have Preferences under Edit.
