For the Action - Click on the 'Use Firefox' drop down to see what is available, It should have 'Photos' in the drop down list because you say it is the default on computer - please select 'Use Photos (default)' - see image.

I have gone into the setting for photos to do what the above says but the items shown are not on my settings. See below

Also in my sent emails -- This is what I see-- Normally that bee picture would be in the email itself.

This just started happening a couple of weeks ago. Also when I receive an email and do a reply, my message of reply is now BLUE... did not change any settings as I have never had to. Thunderbird is very well behaved and easy - but all of this is most frustrating. Thank you so much.

If I delete an email or transfer one to a folder, I get a message that eudora.htm on local folders could not be compacted because writing to this folder failed or words to that effect. Once I get this message in order to do anything else I have to close Thunderbird. When I reopen Thunderbird, deleting an email or transferring one gives me the same message. I have to close and open Thunderbird again.

I really need help.

I have installed the "Start with Inbox" extension. I am trying to find the correct setting that selects the the top message in my message list and displays the contents in the message pane (reading pane). I've tried several of he settings. Here is the list of options.

Select and put the focus on: the last message.* the newest message.** the newest unread message.** the oldest unread message.** the inbox folder in the folder tree.

  • Definition of "last": The last message that was put into the folder (independent from the date of the
       message)
    • If there are many accounts and/or many e-mails, finding the newest or oldest message can take some
       time.

(If the inbox contains no messages, the inbox folder in the folder tree will be selected and focused.)

None of the these produce the desired result. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Hello, I use Thunderbird 128.8.1 esr 64 Bit and have integrated a cal-dav calendar. When I receive an appointment from another Tunderbird user (same version), I get a message. However, this message does not contain the date, time or an ICS file for integration. Likewise, I cannot simply “accept” the appointment. I have already carried out troubleshooting in both versions without success. We do not use Ligthning as it is not a Google calendar.

What can I do?

The problem doesn't exist when I receive invitation from other users and other systems like outlook.

Thank you.

Hi all I am running Thunderbird 28.7 Oesr (64 bit) on MXLinux 23.5 Libretto. The Spaces toolbar in Thunderbird is leaving a thin semi-transparent artifact right across the bottom of my screen impacting the MX panel which is located there. I can move the panel but the artifact remains visible. Is it possible to rectify this? TIA Jack

For my work email, my microsoft exchange uses a different server address besides the default microsoft exchange. When I put that in in the server address, it does not work. When leaving the default, the account also will not get any messages. Are there different settings that I need to change that I am unaware of? Thank you.

I have been reminded by Microsoft that Thunderbird will be unable to access my Outlook account after Sept 16th. I have followed the instructions on the MS help site to re-configure Thunderbird, but when I try to change the Authentication on the outgoing server settings OAuth2 does not appear as an option. I've been using Thunderbird with no issues for years and I'd hate to lose it... Thanks Nigel

I have an old "live" account, a "G mail" account and a newer "Outlook" account. They all receive emails fine. The G mail account will send emails. The other two will not. Can I get the setting for smtp for both live and outlook please. I have searched for some time and find different suggestions. Thank you, Garry

The curse of the behemoth yet again? I refer to the ‘new’ imposition imposed by Microsoft with their ‘new’ authorisation and authentification nonsense when attempting to log in to account/s via Thunderbird. Why this is necessary when it is possible to log in via the usual manner direct is any body’s guess. My personal opinion is that it is a sordid and underhannd way of forcing us to subscribe to Outlook 365? Cynical me? For numerous reasons I need and use 6 e-mail accounts, sadly all Microsoft (outlook.com, hotmail.com. .co.uk and last but not least live.com). No need to explain why the excellent Thunderbird is used and has been for nigh on 15 years+. Over the past couple of months I have tried every conceivable configuration supplied by the support team and other poor users in the same position as me. None have solved my problem. I surely cannot be alone? I do not object to change if it is of benefit but this is madness. For the time being Thunderbird is redundant and the daily grind of signing in individually via Microsoft faces me everyday. Both time consuming and arguably pointless. If someone has a definitive solution please let me know. There must be one?
