In my attempt to help my wife with her email problems I have managed to totally screw up her profile. There now duplicate inboxes, duplicate local folders, duplicate Outlook Express Import files, etc.

Is it feasible to export/backup the inbox, address book, files&folders, Outlook Express Import files (but not the profile), then uninstall Thunderbird in order to start over? If so, how is the best way to do this?

She only has one email account on Thunderbird and is running Windows 10.

I recently changed ISP carriers (from Network Solutions to Intermedia). The transfer was slow but everything worked just fine. Then, a few weeks later, I received a notice from "Esquilla" asking me to sign up & pay, which I did not do. Monday morning, my Thunderbird email was frozen. I was able to go to the ISP's online portal to access my email and still can but I prefer Thunderbird which I have been using for decades. Mozilla has always been free other than donations. Is Esquilla a part to Mozilla? Tim J tim@jgia.net

Today I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Since doing this, the taskbar icon is not the same as it has always been.

It used to be that if I pinned Firefox to the taskbar, I would click on it and the default Firefox window would open. When the mouse was right-clicked, the icon showed there was a choice of the default Firefox window and an option for a privacy window I could choose. I did that frequently.

Now if I pin Firefox to the taskbar there is no privacy window option. If I pin the private browser to the taskbar, this becomes the default window with options for the non-private default browser available with a right mouse click.

I would like to know how to pin the default Firefox window to the taskbar and have the private window option show up when that icon is clicked please.

A: All these problems started after the new email version was installed, in-other-words, when the old version was updated! B: All of my email that was in my account / on my computer seem to be be there as far as I can tell. I can get to them, I can open them and see their contents. C: All is ok up til this point...as mentioned above and no new email has arrived. D: Now, as soon as I click on the "Get Messages" (Icon, looks like a cloud) in the upper left corner, is when I the Yahoo page of some sort pops on the screen, that's it. No mail arrives and I'm stuck with the Yahoo page covering most of the screen. E: I can click click around and try entering my email address but when I click on F: I see that images can be attached, and hope it works. My screen are,1920 x 1080, so I'll try and reduce the size of the images when I attach them. G: (Image A) After I inter my email address the red wording pops up.

    (Image B)   My email address pops up. That's it. Sometimes, If I click around a second page will pop up and

it becomes vicious circle and normally going back to the first page. (Note: A image) [about:blank] ??? Other pages have an address??? H. In these 4 days I have changed, added, deleted, used my Mozilla Reset Key, and this morning, per Mozilla's - Thunderbird's request, created another Reset key. Still no email. I do believe If this Yahoo thing was gone my email might start, just a guess now. H. Will all of the email that has not arrive still be available?? I. Almost forgot to mention. With a simple mis-keystroke I deleted ALL but 1 email in my inbox... Oddly though this contained years on emails it only took a few seconds?!

So I immediately went into the profile in the roaming folder for windows 10 and searched for a backed up copy of the inbox... assuming that Thunderbird would do such a thing as I have seen in other email clients.

I found nothing like that. I searched everywhere I could think of for some old inbox file that would contain the emails or at least most of them... NOTHING. I just have never seen a client that didn't make routine backups of the data files.

Am I missing something? Is there a file somewhere?

1st, I'm old, cant code, tho wish I cld, so am naive and tho being online for over 20 years, just dont get any tech etc on how any of it works (damn it).

My issue, is th incompatibility across 1st O/S's, due to competition but mainly bcoz of the lack of ethics inherant in capitalism.

As my meme has; "cRapitalism - guaranteed to make a$$holes of otherwise good folks!"

But, "that's evolution fo' yo'!

Point is, th web is still a baby, so has a way to go b4 it, thus all operators and users, "evolve" to agreed bases, O/S's, layout standards for all the sites, platforms, apps, etc.

Eg1; Social media platforms? All in their own anazing ways, are fabulous.

But (yeah, an "old Luddite's" problem) skipping from 1 to another, and another, each w its great but own layout, is longterm, long-game, all up v innefficient.

So, IMCO, there needs ASAP to be a meet of both developers AND govt specialists, to begin a project to design GLOBALLY-acceptable layouts etc, for maximum user-friendliness, and other vital factors in sites' designs.

I write this on my phone, bcoz sPOOks have hackrashed every lap and desk top computer, bcoz of my REALPolitiks, so that'll do from me.

Sayin', "sameness" of all parts for online use, like the accepted "QWERTY" keyboard layout, as with Post Offices, I guess, all requiring postage stamps in the dame corner of envelopes, globally, etc, baby internet needs to gwow upsies, above the usually excellent egotrips of each web layout etc., to maximize humanity's communications systems.

Two issues using latest version of Firefox with Windows 10.

These 2 issues have occurred in the last few days

First I cannot attach my files to my emails using Gmail. I'm able to do this using Edge or Chrome

Second, normally when I used to start typing the name of my correspondent it would automatically complete. This is no longer working. I'm able to do this using Edge or Chrome

I have been using Thunderbird with multiple POP accounts for about 15 years with few problems.

Since upgrading to the latest version, with was about a week ago, emails are downloaded again and again, for as long as they remain on the server, which is for most accounts 7 days.

I can see the emails are marked as read on the server (my host is X-10 Infinity and been using them for 4 years), but every time Thunderbird connects to the server, it downloads all the messages again.

My mailboxes are filling up with duplicate messages, sometimes 10+ copies of each one. I haven't changed any settings on the server or in Thunderbird, so not sure what is causing this.

If I click to Get Messages manually, Thunderbird only downloads 1 or 2 messages, if anything. But for some reason when the scheduled connect runs (for example: every 30 minutes) it seems to pull down all messages in the POP mailbox again and again.

Is there anything I can set or change to fix this please, or is this a bug you are working on?

I really don't want to change so I download messages from the server and delete them immediately rather than in 7 days as this allows me to have a backup in case my computer needs to have a re-install.

Thanks for any help. I'm sure I'm not alone with this problem.

Since the latest version line spacing is cramped and none of the suggested solutions work. I am having to type my emails in word and then paste them into Thunderbird. This is time-consuming and annoying. How do I get readable line spacing?

I'm wondering if anyone can shed light on this.... I'm using the very latest version of Firefox 124.0.2 (64bit) And recently having a problem when video chatting on facebook when chatting I can't see the "Cam" Icon to call up. Yet on Crome all is good.

Any help?

I realized since I upgraded my MacMini to 14.4.1 I can no longer 'post' into any of the yard sale/garage sale sites I am on, not even MarketPlace. All I get after a long wait is a 'technical problem' notice. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi, I use thunderbird ver. 115.9.0 on Garuda Linux Gnome (Arch based distro). From some time I noticed I cannot copy in app. I cannot copy text from messeges or copy text from popup window with thunderbird version. I try to change theme but it don'y help.

When I'm searching Community Discussions, it would help a lot to be able to sort the discussions by date or at least see when a discussion was started without having to open each discussion individually. Is there a way to do this? The answers in older discussions, pertaining to older versions of Thunderbird/Firefox, may no longer apply and it is frustrating to try and find pertinent discussions when you have to open and close each discussion looking for answers.
