Having opened Thunderbird a message came up to the effect that the folder had not loaded. No emails were shown in the list, although the total number of emails in the folder appeared as usual above the list.
Thunderbird then downloaded over 100 emails, according to the status bar. These messages were previously present on the server, and were downloaded via POP3 with the option to delete on the server once downloaded selected.
Having closed Thunderbird and relaunched, the folder with all the existing emails appeared. However, there are no emails now on the server, this having been verified by logging in to webmail.
Where have the emails gone?
If they are indeed lost then why does Thunderbird proceed with downloading messages when a folder has not loaded? Why is downloading of messages not conditional on the folder having loaded? This would avoid such an eventuality.
I am running Thunderbird 115.18.0 32-bit in Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.

I’m having trouble with Thunderbird where emails I send don’t show up in the Sent folder. I use a Gmail account via IMAP.
Details: • When I send an email, it doesn’t appear in the Sent folder in Thunderbird - sometimes it does thou. • Sometimes sent emails don’t appear even in Gmail’s web Sent folder. • I have checked my account settings, and the Sent folder is mapped correctly. • I use Thunderbird version: Version 140.0esr on Sequoia 15.5. • I don’t see an Outbox folder in Thunderbird. • Sometimes I get errors related to folder sync (like “folder in use” message).
What I tried: • Restarted Thunderbird • Checked folder subscriptions and synchronization • Verified Gmail IMAP settings • Sent test emails to other accounts — same issue persists
I’d appreciate any tips on how to ensure sent emails are saved and visible in Thunderbird’s Sent folder and on Gmail!

I have an Optus email and use Thunderbird, for a week now I can only send but not receive emails with my Optus net email in Thunderbird, phoned Optus up say the problem is not theirs,got an it expert in spent 2hours on it at a cost of @$250 said to me ,everything is fine it seems Optus is blocking the Optus email from coming in,note I can send and receive emails with my iPhone with Optus email but not in Thunderbird. I am pulling my hair out is there a solution to this? Spent 20 hours plus trying to solve it ket alone paying an it technician plus on the phone to Optus and NO SOLUTION!!

I stopped seeing new emails a couple of weeks ago. Now there are no messages showing in my inbox
ALL emails coming to INBOX are in DRAFT MODE only. Emails are not available in read mode unless the email
comes from a cell phone!!

I am unable to send an original email right now with Thunderbird. I realize "original" is not the best descriptor but what I am trying to describe is if I compose an email to another party, Thunderbird tries to send it and immediately returns the message below even if I send the word Test in the subject line and as the one word text message:
Send Message Error Sending of the Message failed An error occurred while sending email. the mail server respnded: [VO-1] Message blocked due to spam content in the message. Please check the messge and try again.
I have tried multiple email recipients with the same results.
However, if I take an email currently in my Inbox and Forward it to another recipient, it sends it with no error.
Thanks for your help. I am sure I have done something I should not have but I cannot think of what it was.

Can you tell me how to set the frequency of checking emails more often than the 15-minute interval? In other android mail clients, emails arrive almost immediately, within 5-10 seconds, but here the verification interval is very long, and manual verification is such a thing. How do I set it up?

When I try to send an email I receive this error message:
"Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server <tlkramer52@sio.midco.net> sender rejected. AUP#BL. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again".
I have verified that the address is correct. How can I fix this problem?
