I now get a popup window, which tells me that I'm trying to open a "application/octet-stream (377 bytes)" and gives me the option of "open with" or "save file".

I don't want to do either, just view the page as before.

in chrome when you drag a tab out to open it in another window it automatically goes to a smaller window, firefox always copys what size the window was when you dragged it out. so when the window is maximised it will always open a new maximised window.

So my question is, when dragging a tab to open it in a new window is there a way to stop it from copying the size of the window you dragged it?

Using Firefox View, I am unable to view my tabs from other devices after setting up Sync. It is saying Check your internet connection. If you’re using a firewall or proxy, check that Firefox has permission to access the web. as if I don't have a correctly configured connection. However I indeed do and am able to browse the web without any issues. I should mention that I'm running the latest stable flatpak and I'm wondering if this could be related but I have no idea how to manipulate the flatpak to make this work.

Is it possible to combine history/bookmark files? Firefox has truncated my "History" to 15 days and the only option I see to get elder entries is to combine a backupped history file with the current one. An easy-to-use tool for this task would be welcome. I did not change my config options after the update to 121.0.1 (64-Bit) (Windows 10pro) but I think I had the total history (from years) before the update. Trying to sync between my PC and my iphone. Every time I've attempted it I've gotten this type of error report. And when I press sync on my iphone it tells me that sync is offline. I've logged out and back in a few times on both devices and I've also tried turning sync on and off again and it's not working. Tried syncing again and it didn't show up on my other pc either.

When I start typing my cursor disappears. It does not reappear until I've clicked a few times or wiggled my mouse a lot. This is quite an inconvenience, and I've tried to find a solution for far too long now. This also does not seem to affect any other application other than Firefox.

I have set both widget.windows.hide_cursor_when_typing=false and hideCursorWhileTyping=false I have also verified that there are no OS-level options set for this behavior, although I feel the above settings should override OS settings.

So I need to update my Firefox Browser to 128 BUT somehow "Updates disabled by your system administrator." and as I am the only user I have never set up an administrator.

So I have had a look and I don't understand most of what I am reading.

So about:policies.... DisableAppUpdate true So how do I change that? I have looked at Reg Editor but have no idea what I am looking at.

It took me a long time to update to Firefox 121 because I did not like some of the changes Mozilla did to it like spacing between Bookmarks in the dropdown so to update again is a big thing for me. Attached as much as I think is relevant. Any help will be much appreciated.

I have been using Firefox for many years and I have never had problems, until now, out of nowhere Firefox closes and the little window opens that the report is being sent to Firefox, but I can no longer restart or open Firefox, until I reset the computer, This can happen one, two, three and even four times a day, making it very uncomfortable to reset the computer.

I have already tried many ways to solve the problem, from completely uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it, I use very few extensions, I already disabled WebGL and also disabled hardware acceleration, nothing has worked, when Firefox closes, I cannot open Firefox Developer either and That browser was not even open at the time of the failure with Firefox.

Why on my new Windows 11 laptop I can only see 42 bookmarks and they are not alphabetized whereas on my Windows 10 desktop I stopped at 100 and I was only up to the G's and they are alphabetized? Is there any way to fix this?

One website in particular is almost 100% black. I cannot see most text. On another site, I cannot see check boxes, can't see the trash can icon.

This just happened recently. When I switch to Light Mode in the settings, both sites remain dark.

What settings can I change so everything on a site is visible?

I loaded the postcode lottery website but it's completely blurred. I last checked the same website last month, and it worked fine. I have cleared the cookies from Firefox, but the result is the same. It appears clear for a moment, then blurs. No pop-ups asking to accept cookies. It works fine using Chrome. Any idea why Firefox won't display it properly? It loads the National Lottery website, so it's not about gambling sites I guess.

In the last few days whenever I download a PDF file instead of it being displayed in my default PDF read Firefox (version 121.0.1) takes over and displays the contents of the file. I do not want this, I prefer my PDF reader! How do I stop Firefox trying to take over this function? (other than converting to Chrome)

No matter what I do FF always opens to the "Success!" screen and wants me to choose what tabs to restore. I have done troubleshooting mode, clean mode, refresh and complete uninstall and reinstall. Nothing works.

After the last update, my add-ons overflow menu no longer works from the puzzle icon. It won't expand completely and you can't scroll down, therefore, I can't add or remove add-ons to the bar. See Image.

Hello all, first time poster here but long time FF user!

Lately, some of IMDB's functionality is broken for me. I can give many examples of odd behaviors but to keep this short, have pasted 2 screenshots of the same section of the homepage (www.imdb.com) to demonstrate the difference. Something is preventing the proper loading of all the elements.

Another odd thing is that i'm unable to click on elements that have properly loaded and are visible. Lastly, i'm unable to play videos!!

None of the above are reproducable when in private browsing mode. I have disabled all my extension in the hopes that one of them could be the culprit to no avail!

Any thoughts on how to approach this issue?

Firefox has recently (within about a week or so) begun to crash randomly for me when switching between open tabs. The problem can be reliably replicated with ~6 tabs open, while quickly cycling between them. Firefox has been updated, and the crash still occurs even in troubleshooting mode. I was trying to get sync to work, I go to sign in and choose my google account, then I make my password for sync, when I press "Create Password" it just tells me "Unverified Session" in a red bar on top of my email, did I do something wrong?
