Hello, until yesterday, I had the video downloader helper icon on the right hand side of my top list of sites near my Firefox account icon. Now in the 89.02 version, it's gone so I can't download directly movie trailers for example. How do I put that icon back on around there? Thanks Luc

I used to use a lot the three dots next to a webpage to share the page via airdrop (to have it/share it with my own phone or others'). Now the three dots have disappeared and, although I read here that I could do that by right clicking the page, the option for SHARE does not appear. Can you please explain how to do this now? (I use a Mac).

I am an older Firefox user and I often find myself enlarging and decreasing size of fonts on different websites to make them readable. Lately I notice I am having trouble with the fonts I am using so I need advice. What are the good fonts to use for Firefox? Also, what is the setting to adjust the fonts Firefox uses in the toolbars and address bar?

I am currently using as follows: Default: MIcrosoft Sans Serif (I like the clean lines of a sans serif, but I'm not wedded to any particular one. ) Size: 10 Proportional: Sans Serif Serif: Newsreader Sans Serif: MIcrosoft Sans Serif Monospace: Lucida Sans Font size: 10 Minimum size: 9

The problem I am having is that text in the address bar is often unreadable due to artifacts that look like a digital font, you know, the blocks? If I highlight the URL inside, the artifacts clear up. I reinstalled Firefox but that problem didn't go away. I need to know which font Firefox uses for that area before I can even begin to try to fix it. Any font suggestions are also welcome. I particularly would like fonts that are readable in many sizes and free of flourishes.

By the way, I chose the image of Google News because I also have trouble with alt text showing, I can't figure out how to get rid of that so any ideas are welcome. It's just Google.

I know that clearing browser cookie regularly is a good practice, but I am a bit curious if clearing out those session cookies is the same as if you log out of all the accounts manually.

Because logging out manually will make both local and server side session cookies invalid, thus log out safely.

Meanwhile clearing browser cookies only delete local side session cookie, while the session cookie on the server remains. Which means the session is still valid.

So do I clear browser cookies or log out manually if I want to log out of all accounts?

Hello everybody, I use Firefox for some days now, but I'm a little annoyed with the back button / back gesture usage with tabs. On all browsers I already tried, pressing back button finally close the tab after going back to the first website opened. But with Firefox, it only go to home and let the website open without closing taba. So we have to often close manually opened tabs. Is there a way to change that please ? Sorry for my bad english, I hope it's clear.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

I am running the latest version of FF and Win 10 64 bit. When I access our local DIY store, bunnings.com.au, I get an error message "some error occurred". Pressing F5 gets me to the site. This does not occur on Chrome, Edge or another PC with the same versions of FF and Win 10.

Running FF in troubleshoot mode does not resolve the issue, neither does clearing cache.

However, if I open google.com.au and search for bunnings, then click on the link in the result, I do not get the error.

Does any body have any ideas? AFAIK, it started when Bunnings moved to a new website design.

Regards,

Steve

I cannot add a Zoom meeting to an Outlook meeting using my Outlook Web app. The Zoom add-in is installed and the button appears in the Web app. When I click it, I get the message "Zoom is working on your Add a Zoom Meeting request." But it just hangs there.

The Zoom add-in works using my Outlook Desktop client on the Mac and using Outlook Web in Chrome. Firefox seems to be the issue. Any idea what I can try to fix this?

Please help me get rid of the stupid and ugly Tab bar space on newest Firefox. I hate Tabs and now there is a big space above the address bar for Tabs. I have looked everywhere for a way to turn it off like it has been since Tabs came out. I only want new windows if I want a new window.

If I can't turn that huge space gap off is there any way to go back to what I had before the last update without messing everything up? Why did someone decide to make the browser window smaller and waste that space by making the browser bigger....

Sorry if I sound cranky but, I started using Netscape Navigator 1.0 and every version since and this is the worse thing that has ever been done to a browser... Thank you for any help you can give me!

After a crash, or even after shutting down the computer without closing all Firefox windows, Firefox will restore all the windows and tabs from the last session on restarting Firefox.

There can be many reasons why this may not be preferred behaviour for many users: Sometimes Firefox or the computer crashes because too many windows and tabs are open (and other applications running), killing Firefox may be a measure against malicious pages trying to hijack the browser, discarded pages after shutdown do not need to be restored, ...

So is there a way to make Firefox immediately ask whether to restore the session, like it already does after the second crash? This should actually be an option in the settings.

I've seen some solutions that mentioned creating userChrome and userContent files but they were outdated and I think there should be simpler solution. A friend of mine has basic Firefox version and she said she has never met with such problem.

I've tried:

  • Clearing cache and cookies
  • Creating some Chrome files
  • Disabling addons

I don't think it's Firefox Developer Edition's problem as the issue has been persistent for some time/updates now.

I have Firefox home with a search engine as home page, but since the update to 89, when I try to type into the search box, it jumps to the address bar. This is very annoying. Can it be fixed? I do not want to use the address bar this way. I found a help that said to open the application menu and click "customize" but there is no "customize" option there. In the attached photo, I clicked in the search box to place the cursor there, but as soon as I began typing, it jumped to the address bar. This has never happened to me before in the 15 years I have used Firefox. I am a recent convert to Linux (about 1 year now) and am using Mint 19.3, Cinnamon 4.4.8, if that makes a difference.

The CSS element, below, is not rendered properly in the current version of FireFox for Windows. I first noticed it with the introduction of FF 89.0.

If a web page with this element is scaled, the image contained within the element does not scale. This element renders properly in other browsers (Edge, Chrome, Samsung, etc.), and the current Firefox for Android. There may be other CSS elements that use some component of this that also will not render properly, but I didn't test for them.

.pixHolder a { position: relative; display: block; background: transparent url(xxxxxx.gif) no-repeat 0 0; /* image does not scale */ border-style: hidden; height: 100px; /* size not relevant */ margin-left: 20px; z-index: 20; }
