Hi, I am running Thunderbird v. 115.9.0 on Windows 10 on my desktop. I have been forced by Rogers in Canada to migrate my internet service from their legacy internet service to Rogers Ignite with its Ignite (Comcast) gateway. My email accounts were supposed to be migrated automatically, but, for reasons unknown, were not, and a tech support representative had to migrate them from the old legacy service to Ignite. After that was done, I opened Thunderbird, and was asked to authenticate my 2 Rogers/Yahoo email accounts, one of which is my primary account, the other a secondary account. I was asked to authenticate the secondary account first, which went well. I then clicked on my primary account in the left-hand pane and was again asked to authenticate, but the dialogue box showed it was for the secondary account. Thinking that this secondary account authentication was just being repeated for no particular reason, and not thinking that the email address in the authentication request box could be changed, I clicked Agree. My primary account is now showing the exact same emails as are listed in the secondary account, and I'm extremely concerned that I will not be able to recover all of the thousands of emails in my primary account, many of which are business-related. When I log into my primary account on the Rogers/Yahoo mail website, the emails in the primary account are still showing, so I know they are still on the Rogers IMAP server. However, I really want to continue to use my primary account on Thunderbird. I'm not sure if I should delete the primary account and recreate it - the Rogers support tech said that deleting the account may result in an issue where my current password for a re-created primary account may not be recognized, so I'm leaving things as they are until I hear back. It the advice is to not delete and recreate the account, what steps can I take to recover the emails on my primary account in Thunderbird. Not sure if this is a new 'feature' post-update but it's damn annoying. I was busily transferring some photos that I'd taken on my phone over to Firefox on my Mac. Wasn't until I went to find them on the Mac where they would normally be and couldn't find them. Bit of digging, opening up the Download 'history' on Firefox and saw "File not downloaded: possible security risk".

I can see that I can disable this 'feature' but it seems to be a global "allow". Is there any way I can tell Firefox to allow any downloads from my devices on my network yet warn for potentially insecure downloads from the web?

Old computer: Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit Thunderbird 115.10.0 32-bit (Don't know why it's 32-bit version on a 64-bit computer or whether that's relevant)

The Profiles folder is here (with 5 profiles): C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles

The new computer is Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit I just installed Thunderbird (V115.10.0 (64-bit) on the new computer.

On the new computer, the Profiles folder is here: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles

I basically took the Profiles folder that came with the Thunderbird installation, renamed it (Profiles.orig) and copied in the Profiles folder from the old computer in its place. When I start up Thunderbird, I get this error message:

           Your Thunderbird profile cannon be loaded.  It may be missing or inaccessible

What am I doing wrong? I've updated Thunderbird on the old computer and copied the Profiles folder over to the new computer again. Same result.

Could it be 1. an issue with the user name on the old computer is different than the one I'm using on the new computer? 2. All files on the new computer are set up as local (the user on the old computer started out as a Microsoft user but I made it local so as not to have to use OneDrive).

I'm stumped. Any help will be very much appreciated. If you need any more details I'm happy to provide them.

Hello, since migrating from Chrome to Firefox, I have used the Import Wizard to successfully transfer over my bookmarks and history, but I just can't seem to get my logins/passwords over. The wizard finishes saying that it successfully imported saved logins and passwords, but nothing shows up in the password manager. I am running Windows 10 64bit and Firefox is up to date. Anybody have any suggestions?

I'm making this thread since the previous one was closed and provided no real solution, yet the result shows on the very top of Google. So I like to provide helpful information to others in my answer below.

We cannot get a google account because our landline neither sends nor receives text messages. We are in process of setting up and testing a cell phone, and would like to load Firefox for Android as the browser. We cannot download from google play because google demands to send a text-message "verification" code. We note, thankfully, that Mozilla does not (stupidly) do likewise to set up a Firefox account.

Anyone know if there is a way to import Google Chrome extensions into Firefox. I am moving over and want to make it easy. When I search all I get is bookmarks which I know how to do.

My job requires me to download and open files in new tabs consistently. However, when I download these files, I don't want the download panel to obscure my vision. Can I disable it?

I'm following a tutorial to install cinnamon desktop which includes Firefox snap on my Ubuntu LXD container, but the installation with snap fails. Does anyone know why it happens and how to fix it?

I've read all the articles here about importing my passwords and history, but the Import Wizard is ONLY giving me the option to import my bookmarks. Even if I can't get the browsing history I need to be able to migrate my (extensive) password list.

I've exported my Safari passwords as a .csv file, but there doesn't seem to be an option to import a .csv file.

The page here regarding it says the feature is 'disabled by default' but does not say it's unavailable and I can't find clear instructions for how to activate the feature so that I can import my passwords. Can anybody help?

I am trying to import mails from Microsoft Outlook 2013 into Mozilla Thunderbird 102.3.2 (64-bit), but I get the error: No Profile found, see the attachment. I have set Microsoft Outlook as my Default mail app in Windows 10, my OS. But it didn't help. H.C. Enevoldsen hc@pushkin.dk

If I click my way through https://www.mozilla.org/de/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release I get a different Link everytime. So as someon who wants to distribute Firefox on different PC's , I want to know: Are there any direct download links for the latest version? The best would be some links like Webex has for distribution (e.g. https://mozilla.org/firefox/windows/FirefoxInstaller.exe)

I had a functioning thunderbird, but do to my host provider I had to change some of the configuration (had (owl) suffix). This left 2 profiles. The new profile wouldn't work until I deleted the original. I did a save so I have all the files, now which ones need to be restored. ( a full file backup prior to adding new profile so all org profile files are available)

A profile directory displays all of the folders, 2 files for each folder a MSF and an MBX. Some also have a file type of File.

Which has to be copied, will the folders be created with the copy or do I need to create them in thunderbird first ?

It's not true! Clicking on the close thunderbird button in the error message does nothing, I've uninstalled, reinstalled rebooted. I've had this laptop 3 days, do I need to To go back to factory settings on this laptop.

I want to move Thunderbird local folders to an external drive (Seagate). I am working on a desktop computer with Windows 10. Where are the Thunderbird local folders? The files don't display anywhere in Windows explorer. I am able to transfer all other files such as jpg. and pdf. files from the desk top computer to the external drive by dragging and dropping, but I can't locate the Thunderbird local email files so as to be able to drag and drop.

I would like to save my Firefox profile data into my computer as I would like to transfer the data to a different computer. Is there any solution to how to save it down?

Hi, new updates on Version 98.0.1 quite a hassle for me. It auto-download all my files even when I just want to view. Is there any other way to disable this feature? I opened Setting>Download but there is no disable button or checkbox for that. Please help me. Thank you in advance.

Hey all , i made backup via "export passwords" via password tab and i came back to my pc to and tried to import via csv file but when i pick my csv file nothing happens , any ideas ?

Since I have problems with version 115 (ImportExportTools NG does not work in this version) I am forced to restore version 102. Unfortunately I can't find a way to download this version anymore. A download possibility for older versions would be very helpful. Thanks a lot
