Ok. I'm about ready to vote with my feet. I've been on Firefox for years. But I'm tired of updates every week or two - and annoying reminders several times a day. This is beyond intrusive.
Please:
1) Cut down on the number of useless, unnecessary updates.
2) Give the option to disable them.
I can't type say a zipcode into web pages..I can copy and paste them but can't type anything
I go to say Zillow and try to type an address I wanna search for but it just stays blank...but if I copy and paste it..it works.

This particular module (FVD_Downloader_Module) is hogging my machine.
It is using about 50% of CPU (Windows task manager) on an ongoing basis, and making the machine hang the whole time.
Why does this module do this? Is there any way of stopping it?
The add-ons I have are Ant Video Downloader, Flash Video Downloader, My Video Downloader and Grab Any Media.
I am running Win 7 on a socket 775 motherboard with a 3.2gHz dual core processor and 4gb RAM.
I have discovered that this FVD module runs even when I am not downloading.
When I terminated the process the machine pretty well went back to running normally. Also when I terminated the process none of the add-ons worked.
I printed the Task Manager screen showing the module and the CPU percent, but can't seem to be able to paste it here.
Has anyone any ideas on this?
I have also noticed that Firefox itself is running three processes and not just one.
Any reason for this?

According to the bank, the problem was reported to Firefox and not resolved.

Every week - EVERY week, I get notification that I need to upgrade FireFox. If I refuse to do the upgrade, FireFox refuses to work after about 4-5 days. The longer I go before I bow to the pressure, the LESS FireFox actually WORKS. Right now, I'm trying to read an email message. FireFox has basically shut down OTHER than this page. Anything else? Nope. I am seriously considering going back to the despised IE. I hate Windows, but this is SO ANNOYING! Shouldn't I have ANY say as to whether or not I WANT to upgrade? If I wished to open Firefox I could always easily find it on my Dock because the Dock icon for FF has always been the regular red fox in a circle. Then today I went to open Firefox and I couldn't find it on my Dock. After careful observation using the magnifier I discovered that the Firefox program is still there, but its icon has been replaced by a totally insignificant looking icon that looks like a white notebook, with a small ruler, pencil and pen on top. - What gives? - Is this the "new" icon for FF? - I don't like it. Firefox was updated to 63.0.1. Now, the volume keys (F10, F11, F12) on my Mac (10.11.6) no longer work in any program. In firefox, they are shortcuts to pull up the web developer three pane inspector. I want to turn off/disable the inspector/debugger/devtools/ whatever is responsible for this window that I will never use. I could not disable this function in preferences or change the function of the F10-12 keys. I tried turning off the tool in about:config. Searched "devtools.*.enabled", "devtools.inspector", "debugger.*.enabled" and changed "true" values to "false". F10 and F11 are no longer shortcut keys but F12 brings up the pane (in my ass). How do I turn off these devtools so I can use the volume keys in Firefox and other programs?

Since up date on 3rd Nov, I have been having problems. I cannot make a google search or open Facebook as I get an insecure certificate notice. However, I am able to open other https sites, such as Hotmail. I have tried adjusting the clock, rebooting.
In addition, all the web pages and passwords saved in options have disappeared. I have relied on this for storing my passwords.
Why are my fav.icon's not loading?

Google messages for Web worked on my fully updated Firefox until last week. It was configured to "remember" this computer. I deleted this computer that was listed on Google Messages (Windows 10, Firefox 63.0.1 (64-bit)) which had worked once before, and deleted the messages.android.com from the "Notifications" on the Firefox options settings. I am using the latest version of Google Messages.
How can I get messages.android.com to work again on my Firefox? It works fine on Chrome, and on my Windows 7 computer at work. This Windows 10 computer at home is the one that will not load messages.android.com.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm running the Firefox 63.0.1 (64-bit) with 3 addons. Adblock Plus, Image block (yes it's disabled for the site) and Simple tab groups.
I've tried disabling all the addons except simple tab groups. With 7 groups and about 200 tabs, that's not an option right now.
If keep trying it may eventually work, sometimes it takes 10 min or so of trying, more often I give up and move to chrome for the site I'm tryign to access.

In the past when I clicked on the Bookmark button in the top menu bar, I saw the list of my bookmarks with a few management tools at the end. Now when I click on the button, I get an intermediate list of management tools which has to be navigated and clicked before getting to the Bookmarks. Greater complexity is not an improvement.
How do I get back the simpler access to the Bookmarks? Even better would be for the list to appear on hovering over the Bookmark button.
