What happened to the address bar in update 65? It's awful. It use to only show my most visited bookmarks(ie:facebook) or websites I physically typed in. Now it shows everything but that. It makes it super cluttered and overall awful. I have tried messing with the settings and nothing works. I feel like I need to downgrade and disable automatic updates or move to a new explorer all together.

My firefox just updated and is now forcing me to have a default search engine connected to my address bar. I never used the address bar to search and don't want to start now. I've tried all the settings and it doesn't give me an option to remove this new feature. It gives the option to change which default search engine is connected to the address bar, but it doesn't give NONE as an option, or let me set it up so that the default search engine is only used for the search bar and not the address bar. I also can't restore my previous version. Is there any way to resolve this issue?

Since the last update a blue bar below the url bar appears.
I have followed the support suggestions by 1) unchecking relevant boxes in Preferences, Search and Preferences, Privacy.
Then followed suggestions in about:config by changing the browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled to false.
This has not resolved the issue after several attempts.
Hit Reset Firefox and again reset the browser.urlbar.autocompleted.enabled to false. Again this did not resolve the issue.
Please advise how to resolve as the blue bar and list of suggestions is both not required and annoying to the point of no longer using this browser.

I selectively delete data on sites by doing Show All History, finding a row for the site I want to remove, and then doing Right Click -> "Forget About This Site". I do this rather than globally forget all data because there are a few site logins I want to retain.
I just did this with every row in the History - This Month tab. It's now empty.
However, when I type a single letter (e.g. "a") into the search box a huge list of URLs appears, many of them from this month. They include a number of sites, like my on-line banking, that I previously believed I had erased all trace of.
1) Why are these URLs not shown in my history except when a search term is entered?
2) Why does "Forget About This Site" not clear EVERYTHING for the site in question?
For info, I'm running FF 61.01.1 for Linux Mint.
