When I click on any Zoom link in Firefox 83 on Linux, nothing happens. It seems like Firefox has no idea that the zoommtg:// protocol exists.

I've tried:

  • checking that Firefox is not installed from a snap
  • manually setting the network.protocol-handler.expose.zoommtg and network.protocol-handler.external.zoommtg preferences to true
  • running xdg-open 'zoommtg://...' in a terminal (this works fine, it's how I finished the Zoom SSO login)

As of now I would have to re save all my previously saved web sites. Any way I can get back the original blue star and have it show my previously saved pages. Thanks in advance.

Recently, I have been blocked from visiting certain websites by Firefox, which are perfectly fine websites. I have to close out of Firefox and use Safari to connect to these websites. One of the websites is my City of San Bruno website: https://www.onlinebiller.com/sanbruno/index.html.

This is just one of several websites in which I'm told the website there is a potential security issue. Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue: I copy and pasted the warning below: "Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.onlinebiller.com because this website requires a secure connection. What can you do about it? www.onlinebiller.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it.

If you are on a corporate network or using anti-virus software, you can reach out to the support teams for assistance. You can also notify the website’s administrator about the problem."

I contacted the City of San Bruno and was told it's a browser problem. As I mentioned above I can connect to these sites through Safari with no problem.

Thank You for any explanation/assistance on how to connect to these websites using Firefox.

I want wrote extension, that will open sidebar (with bookmarks) on New Tab, and close it on other tabs.

I make background script with next content: ``` browser.tabs.onActivated.addListener(function(tab){ if(tab.url=="about:newtab") browser.sidebarAction.open() else browser.sidebarAction.close() }) ``` And I get next error in console: `browser.sidebarAction is undefined`

Also I can see here that such actions "can only be called from inside the handler for a user action." Clicking the extension's browser action or page action.

And I want ensure whether tabs.onActivated event is a User action?

And if not, is there any ways or suggestions to go around this limitation?

Hello,

I'm posting because I found nothing on the internet about this.

When I want to drag and drop a file from Firefox (for example : an image) to my desktop, the file always get placed somewhere decided by Firefox instead of the place I wanted.

Example : I want to drag and drop an image from Firefox on the bottom left of my screen, and it gets placed on the top right.

This is really annoying because Firefox always decide a different place to put the file, and I always lose time looking for the file on my desktop.

This is the only application that I use that does this.

Is this possible to fix ?

Thank you for helping !

fb://marketplace_category/?browse_context=c2c_listings_nearby_feed&header_override=Listings%20Nearby&upsell_type=C2C_LOCATION_DISTANCE_MODULE

I'm not sure if this is a firefox problem or a Facebook problem, but when I click on certain links in Facebook Market place I get the above message. Other links that go to http://Facebook are fine, but the redirect on things like browse local, or reduced price kicks out this fb:// url. Also it seems like either I'm the only one to use these features or I'm the only one this is happening to because there isn't anything listed about it online.

It works fine on the FB app on my phone, but not on any of my PCs.

In recent weeks, calls with audio have become buggy in Firefox. Whenever I engage in a call that accesses the microphone while I have a bluetooth headset connected, the headset starts continuously toggling call mode on and off for an extended duration. This can be anywhere from 10 seconds/3ish toggles to never-ending (meaning I got tired of waiting after about 3 minutes/55ish toggles).

Today I finally decided to debug further. Here are my findings:

  • Problem only exists in Firefox. I tested with Safari, Chromium, Slack and Discord, with no trouble presenting itself in any of them
  • Problem relates to all bluetooth headsets. I have tested with Sennheiser Momentum 2 Wireless and Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless, with both exhibiting the problem in Bluetooth mode. If I have no bluetooth headsets connected, the problem does not present itself. There is also no problem if I connect the Arctis using the wireless base station (which in turn is connected to the laptop by USB) instead of bluetooth. Using the base station, call and non-call are exposed to my mac as different/simultaneous channels — this may have something to do with it.
  • Problem persists with hardware acceleration toggled off
  • Problem persists in safe mode
  • Problem persists in private mode
  • Problem persists both on Whereby.com and Discord.com. On Whereby, it also interferes with the camera. This leads me to believe it might have something to do with WebRTC, as I think both websites use it.
  • Problem persists after reinstalling Firefox
  • On a possibly related note: if I end the voice chat session after it has stabilised, call mode toggles off slowly and always sends a "start playing media" signal to my Mac, even if it didn't pause anything when toggling call mode on.

In sum, this leads me to believe there is some sort of bug in Firefox causing this, but the lack of other topics on here with the same problem makes me skeptical. I am open to any suggestions with regards to further testing I can do. This is obviously very annoying, and I would like to have bluetooth calls working again.

I was lucky enough to be able to buld a new PC recently, Running Windows 10 Pro on a AMD Ryzen 9 5900X rig, Asus Crosshair VII Hero motherboard and 32gb of RAM. Nvidia Gforce 1070 GPU (stand in until I can get better in the new year) Should easily be enough to run Firefox right? Apparently not.

Performance in Firefox is little better than it was on my old rig, (which was still lousy). The browser constantly freezes and locks up, not responding at all to mouse clicks between tabs or on the page. It is especially common when a website opens a file requester, such as when I'm working on my website in Wordpress, but it also happens when working with downloads or seemingly randomly too (my downloads folder is on the C drive and always accessble).

I've tried disabling all plugins (I only have 3, Privacy Badger, Facebook container and Sticky Password), I don't see what point there is in resetting the profile as I only got this computer 3 days ago.

Regards software that might conflict, I run Malwarebytes anti-malware and DisplayFusion but I've tried disabling the latter and still no joy.

I really don't want to Chrome but it's leaving me little choice here. Is there anything else I can try? Thunderbird on the same PC works perfectly.

I am looking for the exact site we need to access to perform auto updates to Firefox DE on Windows 10 64-bit v. 1909. We have numerous security precautions in place and we currently can't access the auto updates area. Our security does not allow us to open the entire downloads area, so we are looking for the exact URL that is required for auto updates to function. We are also wondering if it is possible to have the auto updates point to a local server. This would allow us to bypass giving the full access to the website URL and just point customers locally within our own environment.

Thanks.
