Why does thunderbird send emails sent to folders back to inbox
Email sent to a folder from inbox sends a copy back to inbox. i have tried all I know to do, but no luck in solving this problem.

I am connecting to my network solutions email account using IMAP. I have generated some filters with large numbers of attributes using the quickfilters addin, with the option to prevent creation of duplicate filter. With this option it adds attributes to the existing filter. So the syntax of the filter looks ok. However firefox does not run the filter against all existing messages in the inbox if I run it against that. Also, the filter does not seem to filter all new messages that come into my inbox.. only some .. strange behavior .

I created an email and when sent it disappeared and did not show in sent, trash or copy to my wife. In the Explorer file folder it showed as the most recent folder. It had the Firefox logo in front of it and when trying to open it stated it cannot find it under C:/user/bill/(subject of the email). Where did this email go? Why can't I open this folder?

Hubspot ( Wordpress ) widget NOT appearing - on my website www.chromaesthetics.com -- using other browsers - chrome, chromium, opera and midori -- NO SHOW HERE ON FIREFOX. I HAVE disabled ( safe mode ) all extensions and add-ons to no avail.
Other floating widgets are working ok, like my menu . . . please go to the site and see for yourself. The floating Hubspot widget shows up on phones.. . and all other browsers on desktop. Of course, this is Linux . . . NST . .. BUT same issue is with BrazilLX ( debian ) and Manjaro . . i run all three on my design desktop. MY website builder says it shows on Windows in Firefox. So it must be a Linux Firefox exception. Any suggestions?

When I restored a previous session from Firefox after a laptop crash, instead of restoring to the supposed previous day it went back to a session that happened 2 months ago. I'm not sure why this is, but the more important problem came later.
So I tried fixing that by going into the Firefox profile folder and restoring previous versions of the sessionstore files. Unfortunately I wasn't making any progress and at one point reopened Firefox to see that my entire history disappeared. I'm not sure how this happened. I know the history is stored within the places.sqlite but in no way shape and form did I go near that file.
I used ShadowExplorer to find an earlier version of my profile folder and copied and pasted it as a backup. I used the places.sqlite from that but I was still getting an empty history and it was also not recording any more new history. I also tried pasting the entire backup profile folder onto the main profile folder. And I tried creating a new profile and transferring my places.sqlite there but I get the same result. However my bookmarks are still there.
Is there no way to get my history back? I'm guessing it is a corrupted places.sqlite. Is it possible to repair the places.sqlite? Sadly I don't have any knowledge on how to use SQlite shell to repair it myself. It would be nice if someone could do that for me! Strangely, the places.sqlite file size is 10240kb, which seems a bit too small for my entire history.
I'm terrible at explaining things so I apologize if it was hard to follow. I'm distraught about this and pretty desperate to get my history back. I'd appreciate any help.

I have an email account on Yahoo and it is setup on Thunderbird on my laptop.
I have noticed that recently the sent emails on Thunderbird have appeared in the Sent folder on Yahoo Mail which it hasn't done before, that I am aware of and I thought syncing of POP mail wasn't possible.
Any ideas?

I can't open Files from Firefox on a Windows Terminal Server. Whenever I try to open a downloaded file by clicking on it (or specifying "open with" on the download Dialog) nothing gets opened and no errors are shown.
Usually it opens the default program specified in Windows but on 2 Terminal Servers nothing opens.
What I tried so far:
- Check filetype associations in Windows and testet it on a cmd and the windows explorer: works as expected
- Try with different Windows Users: Problem is present across different windows users
- Try with a new firefox profile: Same problem
- Try with firefox.exe -safe-mode: Same problem
- Try resetting handlers.json (by moving from the Firefox installation directory)
Do you have any ideas how to investigate this further?
I know that it worked previously. Could this be caused by a Update of Firefox?

They simply disappear. I do use Thunderbird with Gmail business. I have done all controls Google requested (checking filter, spam, rules) but they are all OK: I getting mad. Could you help me? Or at least send it to firefox....This forum is apparently the only way to resolve issues....since I have not found any way to directly contact Mozzilla/firefox.

i am switching from a POP3 based provider to IMAP. As part of this the pleasingly large server quota I had is now much, much smaller. That means I will now need to archive some stuff and keep on doing it as a routine. However I want to keep my old (archived) messages permanently on my local drives within TB.
It seems that defining the TB Archives location as in the TB LOCAL FOLDERS may do this. But I want to know 2 things which aren't clear in the TB documentation: 1/ Once messages are archived into Local Folders, are they "safe" from IMAP synch deleting them from the local drive if/when I delete them on the IMAP server? (Incidentally, that would seem a reasonable definition of "archived" to me.)
2/ Is there a minimally manual way of moving messages into a local-disk archive in LOCAL FOLDERS? That is, moving messages from the IMAP account folder structure into my hoped for permanent structure on my local drive. And which also doesn't require me to work through N messages in each email folder (where N is a large number) selecting and moving them by hand.
Guidance or additional knowledge appreciated.

We have a terminalserver environment on the base of Windows Server 2016 and since the update to Firefox esr 68.2 the users frequently get a popup with the message in the title (see screenshot). This message pops up even though we disabled automatic updates through about:config and the Firefox Group Policies.
We even tried a few not officialy supported solutions like renaming the update.exe or altering the update url in about:config to a non existant domain but nothing worked.
Is there any way to disable this message being displayed to the users?
Please do not just post "just update to the newest version". That is not always immediately possible in an enterprise environment.
