What should I do, that would secure the emails from many years back. I can see my email account and the emails, which were there when the problem started, but I can't open them without destroying them.

I can read new emails on my cell phone, but i need a lot of the emails, which are there, but I cant open them. I really hope, that you can help me. regards Ester Gregersen Denmark.

As you can see from the screenshot, the screen resolution is not optimized. It happens only with firefox and with this big screen (HP 27fh), on my laptop is fine. Please help, Iæd like to set Firefox as default browser

But i couldn't access my mail account in ThunderBird directly. So to solve this problem, i followed a youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpHdJZFISkQ (How to install and configure a mail server with Postfix, Dovecot, and Mozilla Thunderbird on Debian). I run this in the digitalOcean console: apt install dovecot-imapd dovecot-pop3d. But nothing changed. After that, i tried to access to ThunderBird manually :

Incoming server: IMAP- mail.example.com-993-ssl/tls-normal password-user

Outgoing server: mail.example.com-587-starttls-normal password-user. I could access the mail address but i couldn't send/receive mail to another user. How to solve this problem?

EDIT: I get this error message when i tried to send mail in ThunderBird: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.mechanima.com.tr failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

Firefox 125.0 Beta 9. Why so much memory usage in background when Firefox is not open and in use? (See Screenshot). Never noticed this before on previous Beta versions. Otherwise this version works good and no crashes.

I have lost the password to my business account which is with gmail and wondered whether the Firefox software will be able to retrieve it. It is in my history, but when I click on it, it asks me for my password, which I cannot remember. I have made purchases using that account that I cannot chase up because I cannot get access to the account. Please help if you possibly can.

Lately, when I try to download different files like .docx, .pptx, etc., Firefox always downloads files with a .pdf extension. I tried it in a different browser, and the problem does not occur there. Of course, the files are the same in binary terms, so when I change the extension, everything is fine, but it is annoying. What is wrong?

When I go to sites like google or bing, ect... I used to be able type multiple spaces between words now it only lets me type 1 space between words. Multiple spaces makes it easier to cut and paste when I'm doing multiple searches

I have noticed that my mouse becomes unresponsive exclusively when clicking Browser items in Firefox 124.0.2 (64-bit) on Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1

usually everything is fine for a while, then after a small working period I can still hover over items in Firefox but any click action (right or left) is ignored by Firefox or pages in Firefox.

At the same time clicking in other apps is still working fine.

When restarting firefox the functionality often re-occurs and works again for a certain time.

Actually my problem was solved. It came from the fact that following a maintenance intervention on the servers of the https site where my account was located, and access to which was blocked by Mozilla, the automatic updating of certificates had not worked. Which the site technicians resolved following a request I sent to them.

In the received message pane, unread messages are in a bold font, but, after reading a message, the font does not change back to a normal un bolded font. I have looked at every setting I can think of and I cannot get this to work the way it did in version 102. I am currently on 115.9 ,but, I may revert back to version 102 which worked without any problems. Can you help me resolve this problem?

I used Malwarebyte scan to check for my digital footprint and it showed Firefox , spotify and another program , it also identified one password that was out there ! Does this mean that Firefox on my PC/Phone is insecure ? or are they trying to get me to use their software ?

I am using Firefox on Mac - I usually minimize instead of closing - It has started making a TAPPING NOISE I thought it was my computer - but It now has happened to 3 different computers and one is brand new - T T T T TTT , I have narrowed it down to Firefox, when I minimize it will do it, then opened and it stopped and min. then start, repeeat - now it does the TTTTT all the time with it open or minimized. What is going on?

I have windows 11 and the firefox 124.0.2 browser. I cannot update to the latest version of Firefox. I receive an error message "failed to update". I've uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, ran the install utility selecting update, nothing seems to work. Please help

'Vanishing Menu BarBar' Mac OS system is set to NEVER hide menu Bar, yet both Thunderbird and Firefox hide the menu bar, they are the only applications I have that do this. the posted solutions DO NOT EXIST in Mac OS 14.4.1. The posted solution says to customize and then go to a menubar drop down, but in both apps there is NO such menu item. There is a menu item for the tool bar, which I have ON, but not for the menubar. So what gives?

Since a recent UPDATE, there are NO emails showing in the SENT BOX, or any of the FOLDERS including an important one labeled TAX RECEIPTS!!! The only boxes which show emails are the INBOX and the DRAFT BOX. After depending on Thunderbird for 20 years, I now have to use WEBMAIL. OH DEAR, Can you please help me. I am a nearly 80 year old grandmother who wants to email her grandchildren in GERMANY. PLEASE HELP!!

My Thunderbird stopped receiving emails. I am on a Mac. I am posting here because I looked through the list here. Others had the same problem but the conversation is now archived. I tried the offered solutions and they didn't work. So having just fixed mine, I'm posting my solution. Go to System Settings. to Passwords. Unlock Passwords by signing in. There you find your email service listed. Click on it and check that that password matches the password on your account on your email services website. If it doesn't, fix it. Then open Thunderbird on the menu bar at the top, go to Settings ( not Account Settings.) Go to Passwords, to Saved Passwords, click on that and it will show you a list of your saved logins. Below the list, you can click on Show Passwords to see what's there. I had a bad password in there. (I had more than one password that had been saved for Thunderbird.) I deleted all Thunderbird passwords. Then I closed and reopened Thunderbird, clicked Get Messages, filled in the correct password when asked. Bingo. My email downloaded into Thunderbird.

I'm currently using Thunderbird version 115.9.0. For the last several months when I detach, delete or save an attachment, Thunderbird will duplicate the email. I then manually delete the duplicate.

This didn't happen the first several years I used Thunderbird. Is there some setting I missed? Any solution to prevent this from happening?
