My computer crashed and when I launched Thunderbird it came up with opening screen (Set up an existing account). I'm hoping the data and setting are still there. Is there a way to bypass the new account and get to old email?

Or since I'm setting up a new computer can I just follow directions in "Moving Thunderbird to a New Computer"?

'I already wrote but should say I'm on MAC not pc...'

I recently changed all my pop to imap.. It's been a disaster...I was not able to send or receive from any of my 3 computers after the change. It took me days of all my possible help "passing the buck" "not our end": a)my spam protection people, b)internet provider c)email domain hosts (2 of them- just for fun)

And, of course, the no tech support Thunderbird (fun part of the equation).... there is also a password problem somehow which I bypassed smtp finally using port 25 and 2525 unsecured...

and I now can send and receive...WOW.

I'm pretty much an expert after a full week of 8-12 hour days... This all happened because I was getting occasional failure to send bounce backs...thought I'd fix it...

Anyway current problems are: 1) working with our spam protector tech transitioning from my very happy pop life to imap: ALL my message folders (15 years worth of business email) in one box were deleted..

2)In my other domain all my message they seem to be there but are greyed out, labeled "IN BOX bla bla..."

Is it possible to recover these and how? I've looked in "Profile Folder" "Show in Finder" and some seem to be there... how can I pull out these folders and sub folders that I depend on for my work?

Is there anyone to help me??? Thank you.

I do not want to erase my emails that go back several years. Someone from the Community advised me to not use thumbdrive, so I bought an external hd. I have read others' problems and I do not want to create problems. But my laptop is running out of room. Can I store local folders on the external hd to free up space on my laptop's hd? If I move EVERYTHING to the external, will Thunderbird still be on my laptop? I sort of need walk-through help because I am not familiar with doing computer things.

Hello. My tabs, history and other data did not migrate upon upgrade from Firefox Preview for Android to Firefox Nightly. I have and Android phone with software version 6.0. I do not typically log in to my account. Both Firefox versions are loaded on my phone so data has not been lost. I am unsure if this relates but I am close to memory capacity on my LG Fortune (first version). Thanks for your assistance and volunteer work.

My old computer has died and I've got a new one, installed Ubuntu and Thunderbird. I need to get the contacts into the new Thunderbird profile but don't have access to an exported file, only the two .mab files. I know has been asked before, and I've tried following some of the advice but It's not working for me:

  • I tried pasting in the history.mab and abook.mab and restarting Thunderbird but none of the contacts appeared.
  • Advice to use MoreFunctionsForAddressBook add-on appears to be outdated.

Is there a way to configure multiple addressbook files and thus add (say) history-1.mab and abook1.mab (the files from my backup) to the new default ones?

Good day everyone Pray all is well and in great spirits. Thanks so much as I'm lost; Afromontreal was my email provider for ten years and about two years ago I was told by Everyone.net that they did not renew their domain name, meaning they were not like google, yahoo or hotmail, just a domain name providing mail services(hope this make sense?) I was sent instructed to use a link to get Thunderbird so I could view and retrieve all my emails from them, thats it. I cannot open any emails and its asking for a password which I don't have. I just want to retrieve my ten years of information, thats why I installed Thunder ball

please I need your help.. oh my email is [email]shifamountain.com thanks

My Thunderbird program was set for automatic update. After the update to 68.8.1, all my archived emails from the past 20 years were missing. I could not find a link to change to reflect that all my Thunderbird emails were at C:\emailtb1. Also, more important, before the automatic update I had about 500 emails in my inbox. Only 150 now appear. The other 350 are gone!

My email account is ronsteinbach2@att.net. AT&T uses yahoo.com for its emails. I went to yahoo.com and I discovered that the Thunderbird installer also deleted about 1,000 of my emails at Yahoo, leaving only the same 150.

I uninstalled the version 68.8.1 of Thunderbird, and found 60.5.3 on my computer which I installed. I found the place to change my file location (missing in 68.8.1) to C:/emailtb1, and the old program found my 20 years of old emails (saved under Thunderbird under separate file names each with about 500 emails).

My 350 missing emails in my previous inbox were not found by 60.5.3 either. I am an attorney and I need the missing emails.

Also, when I load the old Thunderbird program, it automatically reverts to the "Profile" under the newest release and I have to again set up the same "Profile" for the old version. And the program again re-loads, one by one, each of the same 150 remaining emails.

I have used Thunderbird since its inception with no problems. I almost forgot that my address book is now empty, both under the new version and the old version which I re-installed!

Ron Steinbach, ronsteinbach2@att.net

P.S. I have used computers since 1984. Deleting files on an install is not acceptable.

I have four mailboxes and I keep them on a folder on my network. Sinds I downloaded the latest version of Thunderbird I cannot see my mailboxes anymore. I have adjusted my profile for this and it always worked perfectly. Thunderbird can read my messages and I can search in my messages. If I open the search messages dialog Thunderbird shows my 4 emailboxes but they don't show up in the folderpane and my messages don't showup in the folderpane. The image shows the empty folder and massage pane.

Hello Guys,

I hope that you can help me. I work for a company with 900+ Windows Clients and several Terminal Server users. At the moment I deployed Firefox ESR 68.4.2 32-Bit. Yes 32-Bit, my mistake. Anyway, I want to update to version ESR 68.5.0. At the same time, I want to jump onto the 64-Bit version. This article mentioned no problem at all; install 64-Bit and afterwards uninstall the 32-Bit version of Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switch-32-bit-64-bit

I did this step for step but I can't see the bookmarks on the 64-Bit version. If I uninstall and reinstall the 32-Bit Version the bookmarks are back. I need help, please. The users are going to kill me, if I "delete" their bookmarks.

Greetings and thank you in advance!
