When in e-mail I get a message concerning not being able to connect I MAP settings as there are too many or something like that. (Message disapears quickly). It indicating that I should use advanced I MAP settings - all of which is way beyong my primative knowledge. Anyone throw any light on this regarding what and how to do or who to contact Thank you . Firefox 147.0.4 on macOS 26.3 does not work via SOCKS proxy.

Firefox 147.0.4 on Windows 11 x64 works fine via the same intranet SOCKS proxy, with exactly the same settings.

The advantage of Firefox is its flexibility. It supports its own SOCKS proxy settings, independent of systems-wide ones. Unfortunately, it seems this Firefox feature is broken on macOS (but Windows version works perfectly).

Safari 26.3 (21623.2.7.11.6) and DuckDuckGo 1.177.0 (625) web-browsers that use system-wide macOS SOCKS proxy settings also works fine with this intranet proxy server. So it seems SOCKS proxy server itself is OK, and the problem is confined to Firefox on macOS.

Has anyone seen Firefox 147 on macOS work via SOCKS proxy? Is there a principal difference between how Firefox handles SOCKS proxy on macOS vs. Windows? What might be the best way to address the problem on macOS?

I've recently set up Thunderbird on Linux Mint 22.2 and was unable to sign into Yahoo so I tried to sign in with Firefox instead and had the same errors :-

   Something went wrong
   We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device.

OR

   We couldn’t sign you in
   Change your browser settings to continue. Try the following:
   Turn off ad blockers
   Enable JavaScript

If you still can’t sign in, try a different device.

I can sign in with Chrome without any problems on the same workstation. Firefox version :- 147.0.4 (64-bit)

   Only Extension is Privacy Badger, but this is disabled for Yahoo.com

Thunderbird version :- 148.0 (64-bit)

   No extensions - as installed from Thunderbird download site

I'm not having any issues signing into any other websites / email accounts (Google, Hotmail).

I notice on the support website :- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-yahoo it says "Starting with version 148, Thunderbird is switching to a more secure authorization protocol PKCE for Yahoo" BUT this isn't offered in the list of Authentication methods, has PKCE been delayed? Currently using OAuth2 for Thunderbird

Hi, T/bird working fine upto Thurs night Feb 26th then yesterday morning I got pop up windows asking for login credentials. Nothing had changed. Tried logging in thru them put it errored: <<

I can log into my Yahoo accounts using Firefox so passwords isn't the issue

I've read thru a number of threads on here and elsewhere but no solution so far. K9 is working on my Android phone and my wife's and her T/bird is working on her PC. Just checked versions, she is on 140.8 ESR and I'm on 148.0. Both running Win 11 Pro.

Tried changing from OAuth2 to Normal, pop window asking for password but that doesn't work

Seems to me to be an issue with Ver 148.0 as my wife's working

What am I missing?

Trying to connect to my AOL mail account on a laptop w/ win 10 & thunderbird returns the message not a valid certificate. AOL support said change the password to reset the account, which I did. Now all I get is " Host contacted, sending login info " & it the server connection times out. I can log into my AOL account with firefox. Any help will be greatly appreciated !!

Dovevo chiuderlo stavo pensando di usare outlook o gmail. Alle 1745 l ho riacceso e funzionava tutto. Sono riapparsi i vecchi messaggi ed arrivati quelli nuovi di oggi . Non so che dire

everytime I open Thunderbird I get a popup window from Yahoo finance with a server timeout message. I am unable to connect to get my emails through. I need to log on directly to Yahoo mail, which is a pain.

Hopefully someone can help me with this.

When I opened up Firefox this evening, websites stopped working if "DNS over HTTPS" is set to "Max Protection". In some instances, such as YouTube, the website loads, but it acts like you're offline and tells me to turn on my Wi-Fi even though it's already on and running fine. Weirdly, it seems that setting DNS over HTTPS to Max Protection, loading a website, set DNS over HTTPS to a lower setting, and then reloading the website fixes the issue, but it'd still be nice if we didn't have to go through the hassle at all. Thank you for your time and patience.

I have a very simple web server on my desk using an ESP8266. It has it's own IP address 10.18.2.3 If I enter this url on Firefox on Android it works just great. However when I enter the same url of Firefox on IOS is does nothing and says "No Internet Connection". I already know there is no internet connection and I do not want one. I just want to have Firefox work the same as it does on Android. What settings do I need to change in IOS to make this work ? I am also curious why it shouldn't work on IOS in the first place too. I moved to a new computer and successfully transferred my gmail account by moving the old profile to the new computer. But Yahoo would not connect.

I checked the setup: servers, ports and security. Using oAuth2. I deleted cookies and tried everything again.

Then I deleted the yahoo account (transferred when I moved my Thunderbird profile to my new computer). Now I can’t add it back. I have tried both imap and pop. Nothing works.

I have no problem logging in with the yahoo phone app, or Firefox. I have tried inputting a yahoo generated app password on both the new account setup and on the yahoo popup.

Yahoo account setup is looping, or hanging on the “checking password…” stage.

Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron, it’s a few years old, and my computer is running windows. Today I was on a website, doing my assignments as usual when randomly the internet stopped working on the browser (I was on the web for about an hour before this). There was no change to my behavior, I had been on the same site for the whole hour, and had been interacting with the site during that time. My computer still says it’s connected to the internet, and I was even able to play an online game on my computer that I had downloaded, so it looks like my computer is connected to the internet. I’ve tried to clear my cache and open private windows but that didn’t help.

Hi All, I have been sending emails through Android Thunderbird, but they aren't being synced to the server, so I can't see them anywhere else. I've set the Sent folder to sync (as well as the Inbox). Pressing the sync button just spins the indicator, but doesn't actually sync. When I try to move or copy messages, an error comes up saying that messages can't be copied or moved that aren't synconised. How can all my messages (sent, inbox, everything) be synced so that I can see them everywhere? I've just turned on sync debugging, will see the results soon.

Since yesterday I can no longer click through with hyperlinks inside an email message.

I don't understand this.

I have already tried all the troubleshooting items to no avail.

To my mind, a change was made to TBird's functionality and this is stopping the click-through to the default browser and the opening of the page linked.

Since we needed to upgrade 2 PCs to Windows 11 (1x Pro & 1x Home) nothing works anymore with Thunderbird. It has MASSIVE and unsolvable problems to connect to our Gmail account via OAuth, Not only will it ask every single time again and over again to allow the connection, but moreover even after granting access it still can NOT send (SMTP) or save or even receive (IMAP) emails. It is maga frustrating and I am currently after days and days spend to unsuccessful fix the problem are at the point to looks for a more reliable alternative (if there is any). Just as background: Our Gmail account is about 14GB big, the local Thunderbird folder around 100GB; so yes it's big, but that's another problem, there are no easy or straightforward off-line archivers any longer to effectively and still easy accessible reduce the local archive.

Unable to send emails. A message appears saying the outgoing server (SMIP) smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again. This keeps repeating. What can I do?

I have had an ongoing problem with Thunderbird being unable to log into the various mail servers that I use. I've tried repeatedly to solve this problem and have been able to cure it in the past by clearing the cache, but it recurs over and over again. I cannot keep wasting my time like this. I'm an independent contractor and I need to be able to use my e-mail client consistently. I've got work to do! This morning, it's suddenly decided that it cannot log into any of the three services that I use.

Is there a lasting solution to this problem? If not, please tell me and I'll move on peacefully, but please don't keep me chasing my tail for something that cannot be fixed.

I sent a request for help and got this response:

"Well you might start by actually advising what the error is. We are at this point left to guess what "When launching Thunderbird, I get a pop-up saying Server "outlook.office365.com" reported en error" means and I can assure you it is not much to base a guess on. What is the message verbatim?"

You missed the point entirely! The point is that there NO ERROR CODE REPORTED, only the cryptic information I sent earlier. Further, if I knew the error code, I could fix it myself. The question is whether there is some kind of a log file kept in Thunderbird that may shed some light on the problem. Hopefully, now you understand the problem and can respond in a more meaningful and professional manner.

Some additional information: (a) sometimes email does not send, (b) I have already reinstalled T-Bird with with the mystery error continuing, (c) no errors were reported during installation. If there is no log file that T-Bird keeps and if you have no way of helping me track this down, T-Bird has ceased to be a practical alternative to Outlook.
