Hello Everybody . I have used Thunderbird for a number of years and I like it and have supported it from time to time with donations . I am a person with dyslexia and their a lot of people with this problem . more than you would think . The one thing that I think would be nice is to have a speech to text as part of Thunderbird . It would be a big help to us with dyslexia . Thank you for letting me bend your ear .

I updated Thunderbird yesterday and today it is talking to me. Why, it is annoying as hell to have it repeat everything I do over and over. How do I shut it off.

I have come across some people who ask about the thickness of scrollbars.

Do you find the scrollbars are just too thin and difficult to select because your eyesight is not so good or maybe you have less ease in controlling the mouse? If yes then the following information may be of help.

I'm trying to get Thunderbird working on Windows.

I can't read thin faint Windows-style font rendering. I can set * {font-weight: bolder !important;} in userChrome.css, but since Thunderbird relies on boldness to distinguish unread and read messages, I'd need to find another way to distinguish these.

I also use MacType, but it doesn't seem to affect Thunderbird or Firefox.

As far as I can see, either 1. if the css can distinguish unread and read messages, maybe I could set extrabold and semibold, or I could set different colors. Or 2. I could set a bolder font with good-enough script support.

I am running Thunderbird (release 140) with the Dark Theme selected. A few messages are received that are unreadable because of the text color chosen by the sender. I am wondering if there is a method to adjust a parameter for an unreadable message to make it readable. I would prefer not to have to change the Theme to Light for just a few messages!

Hi, I was asked if I could contact you by google disability.

I'm having a huge problem creating a channel on youtube with a live.co.uk account when using NVDA.

I press b until I hear account menu button button submenu, pres enter or space, then arrow down to create channel and press enter. Nothing seams to happen.

Google disability has shown me a couple of video or audio files proving that it can be done, they've even said that they tried creating an account with an outlook account, what live.co.uk is called now from my understanding.

SO I'm really confused as to why they can do it and I can't.

I can't show you with OBS because it messes with my screen readers speech so if you have another way I can show you; please let me know.

I've already tried the following, suggested by disability support: 1. uninstalling and reinstalling firefox.

2. making sure addons are disabled, the only one I left enabled was a volume booster but I doubt that would be the issue.

3. Setting NVDA back to factory settings and disabling all addons.

This has been confusing me on and off for up to a year now.

I love FF and I appreciate the intentions behind the new update for quick/custom search engines in Firefox 140, but I can't help but notice that the new UI for custom search engines requires the user to manually click on various buttons and does not allow one to navigate the process via keyboard only. (Unless I'm missing something?) Prior to this UI update, I was able to fully navigate the drop-down and select my custom search engine of choice using only my arrow keys and enter key. Now, the "search with XYZ" button that pops up if you type the site name is only selectable if you click on it, and cannot be highlighted with the arrow keys.

I am not personally disabled in a way that prevents me from using my trackpad, but having to stop what I'm typing and go out of my way to click on various UI elements is a real stymie in terms of flow, ease of use, and efficiency. At least for me.

Is there some kind of secret key combo I can use? Or an about:config setting to enable keyboard navigation in custom searches? Is it a bug? Or simply the removal of a feature?

All of a sudden, the text in my Bookmarks bar has turned black making it unreadable on the black background. Any idea why this happened and how I may revert the text back to white? Thank you for your help.

I really enjoyed using Firefox on iOS. It is so much better than other browsers in terms of continuity. However, I do find that there’s one particular thing that Firefox can do better—how to access bookmarks.

“Bookmarks” on the Homepage should be able to be put on top. On the current version, the location of “Bookmarks” is fixed on the bottom of the screen, below “Shortcuts” and “Jump back in”. For many users, including myself, bookmarks are more convenient than Shortcuts. It would be great to move it up top.

And it should be able to show folders. I have a lot of bookmarks, so I have to group them in several folders. What current version does is probably guessing which specific one you want to pick and show it, and the hierarchy is dismissed. So maybe it should show it exactly how it is on the desktop.

I have used TB a long time. It is not now working. I never had a Password? I do have a Mozilla PW (not given here) donated several years ago. This is the story. I got a new phone. Didn't remember my Google PW. The sales man decided to redo my PW. It screwed up Google. Now I get the screen attached. The screen does not work and Thunderbird does not RUN. I get calendar and can write but not send or receive??? Second screeen See attachment. All my mail is via GMail. Perhaps I need to remove TB and reinstall???? I'm trying to make contact with Chihuahua Universe, breeder of a puppy that I'm trying to purchase. But, there is no access to message her, about wot to do next. She mentioned you were making updates to your site & to try again. I have tried several times now!! Please could you help me with this matter, as I'm finding the whole thing extremely frustrating. I don't think that your site is very navigable, I have tried several different ways of finding information I require!!!!!!

I have 2 instances of Firefox: I use stable for all my professional work, and I use Developer Edition (Aurora Channel) for personal things. The stable branch works fine. In Aurora though, certain key combos will not work. This even persists in troubleshooting (safe) mode.

Specifically, it seems anything using both ctrl+alt will not register alt, only ctrl. alt, alt+shift, and ctrl+shift all seem to work fine, but ctrl+alt and ctrl+alt+shift do not. Again, this works fine in stable, so I am clueless as to why it doesn't work in my other instance.

Another detail is that this happens on multiple websites, not just one. The post prominent one is Google Sheets. In sheets, you can insert the date using `ctrl+;`, the time using `ctrl+shift+;`, and both using `ctrl+alt+shift+;`. Inserting them separately works fine, but both causes only one to insert.

How do I change the ::selection background css for text that appears in the mailnews reader and editor views? I am happy to use userChrome.css or userContent.css. Currently the selected background is too dark against my chosen dark background color. I simply need to lighten it a bit. I've been through the about:config pages looking at "color" and there isn't a setting I can find. So it appears I will need to use CSS in userChrome.css to accomplish this. I need to know what the magic incantation is to do this. I get it will involve the ::selection pseudo-element, but which tag to apply it to, any special namespace? All?

Preferably, this solution should continue to work when openSUSE updates to 136/7, etc..

F12 opens the inspector - How to change th eshortcut of remove it completely

F12 is near the backspace key on my asus laptop and I keep accidently hitting it and would like to remove this fuctionality. I can just use ctrl shift c if I need it
