hello, i cannot seem to find a solution online, hopefully someone can help.

i often receive emails with images attached, and most of the time people don't resize their images. you can imagine over time this all adds up in the email storage folder total size.

i dont always need to keep a 6mb image version, it can be reduced after i am done.

i would like a method to resize the received emails image attachment, to at least still have a smaller copy for refence, but not end up with a huge thunderbird email account profile (in the email received not externally saved)

preferably a one click solution, or even a routine i can run on the file system, etc. or some way to edit the received email and its attachment in program.

The qr code displayed in the account transfer email from thunderbird is bigger than my pc screen. Snapping a picture with phone camera not possible. I employ visual accessibilities on pc as I am elderly and have tried to get emails to appear smaller. Cannot get entire qr image on screen.

I have never used Thunderbird previously. May I ask a newb question?

I can longer export my emails from my main online email account in the form of a file for back up. That would be an Outlook/Hotmail account. That is not the only scam Microsoft have pulled in the last few years with Outlook as well, which I am more than happy to go into if asked. I do not want to, nor can I install their Desktop Outlook app which I understand still allows export.

So my question is, if I install Thunderbird, does in sync with another email account, then download and store them on PC for back up? It would be many thousands of emails as well. The file exported from Outlook until Microsoft inflicted their latest used to be around 12Gb.

Also, if I do anything via thunderbird, is that replicated in my Outlook email account? I am concerned that emails may disappear from the email account if say Thunderbird is removed from the PC.

Any advice or pointers to already existing thread would be greatly appreciated.

The summary says it all, really. I've tried all sorts of Google searches and fixes, but nothing works; I was originally on Netscape Navigator, and after Microsoft killed that off, I went to Firefox and Thunderbird - so 'lost in the mists of time ' sums up my problem.

Firefox added a Windows SSO check-box to its security and privacy settings and UI.

It corresponds to the "network.http.window-sso.enabled" prefs. My org now requires this to allow sign-in in, including for emails, so Thunderbird is affected. Any plan to support this prefs? I wpould be fine editing my prefs.js file in muy profile if no UI is provided. As of now, Thunderbird no longer is compatible with this org requirements.

I posted this in the Android section a couple of days ago, but since I've had no responses I thought I should try it here in the hope it'll catch someone's eye. Hope that's acceptable.

Can I fine-tune sync the way I want?

I would love to be able to sync bookmarks and passwords between two desktops yet sync just the bookmarks to a third device: an Android phone. Why? Because while I want my bookmarks available everywhere, I don't want sensitive passwords on a device that leaves home.

But I don't see a way to do that. I've tried, and I find the passwords end up being synced no matter how I configure the settings.

Nor, apparently, can I export the bookmarks and passwords to a file, strip out the passwords, and import the bookmarks alone to the phone--what I was hoping could be a workaround. I gather one can't import to mobile Firefox. Have to sync.

So I'm back where I started: unable to do what I want to do.

depuis le 10 mars 12 h ma boîte mail thunderbird ne reçoit plus aucun message et je ne peux en envoyer aucun. j'ai un message  : échec de l'authentification lors de la connection au serveur. Today I have experienced a problem downloading new messages, bulk, trash or anything else in my mail server into thunderbird. it requires my primary password and then my regular password. I just set up my primary password so I understand why it is asking for that, but I don't understand why it is also asking for my regular password before I can get access to the mail server that I am using. the regular password was set up on 6/17/24 and until today it was working fine.

Thunderbird--All of my current year INBOX emails disappeared. I have tried repairing the folder, deleting INBOX.msf and restarting including in troubleshooting mode, reinstalled Thunderbird. None of these actions changed the situation. Is it possible to retrieve these messages?

The INBOX folder is much larger than the INBOX.msf folder, so I'm thinking the message info is in there?

Hi there, it seems I'm suffering from the same problems as others in several countries. I have also not been able to access my gmx.com account via Thunderbird for about a week now. I live in Belgium and use a Proton VPN, in case this is relevant. I can't find how to delete cookies in history, nor any other potential solutions to the problem. When I switched to vertical tabs in Firefox, the Hikcentral professional web client camera server page changed, part of the page appeared at the top, making it difficult to use and watch the camera images, and the image doesn't display properly. How can I fix this problem?

When v143 was released something happened to the shortcuts row(s). Regardless of refreshing efforts, rolling back versions, and searching the forums, there's no way to consistently get the shortcuts back. Sometimes they appear with a new browser instance, sometimes they don't. They don't appear with new tabs, and they don't stay when they do appear with a new browser. Grrrr. Please restore the shortcuts!

While browsing on my desktop , I am unable to open E Shram Card blog. it appears like there is an error in connection , but despite of good connection, cannot open it.

I’ve been troubleshooting a strange networking issue in Firefox that I haven’t been able to pin down, and it seems to be specific to Firefox’s network stack rather than my system or connection.

On several high-traffic sites that sit behind Cloudflare (Discord, Shopify storefronts, some SaaS dashboards), Firefox occasionally stalls during page load. The request shows up in the Network panel as pending for several seconds before finally completing. Sometimes the page partially renders and then hangs until the stalled requests finish.

A few things that make this confusing:

• The same sites load instantly in Chromium-based browsers on the same machine and network • The issue persists even in Firefox Troubleshoot Mode with extensions disabled • DNS over HTTPS on/off does not appear to change behavior • Packet captures show the TCP connection is established quickly, but some HTTP/2 streams appear to wait before data begins flowing • If I force HTTP/1.1 using a proxy for testing, the issue disappears

System details:

OS: Windows 11 Firefox: latest stable release Connection: fiber, low latency, no packet loss locally No system proxy configured

Things I’ve already tried:

• Clearing cache and site data • New Firefox profile • Disabling hardware acceleration • Testing with network.http.http2.enabled toggled • Comparing HAR logs with Chromium

One thing I noticed in the Firefox networking logs is that multiplexed streams sometimes wait behind earlier streams longer than expected, almost like there’s some internal prioritization or queue behavior happening. I’m wondering whether this could be related to HTTP/2 prioritization logic, connection coalescing, or how Firefox handles Cloudflare edge endpoints.

Has anyone seen similar behavior or knows whether there are any advanced networking prefs in about:config worth experimenting with (connection limits, HTTP/2 concurrency, etc.)?

Curious if this might be a known quirk with certain CDNs or just something unique to my environment.

This just happened, (45 minutes). When I attempt to access a page or a file, when the page comes up on screen, it is a page of numbers and symbols. How do I remove these pages??

Lost my Passwords on my desktop and can't recover them through profile manager, I found them on my android phone and want to recover my passwords from there, but am worried if I try and sync to the desktop, the desktop might overwrite the passwords in the phone.
