In earlier version of FF I could customise what happens if I enter a site name and then press ctrl+enter.

For instance if I typed firefox in the go to web site box and then I press ctrl+enter keys I would want to go to www.firefox.co.uk not www.firefox.com.

I just upgraded to Firefox 4.0b4, but found the Preferences window is too narrow to show all the content. It isn't resizable, and the maximize button isn't enabled, so there's no way to alter the width. This makes it impossible to set some of the preferences, and awkward for others. I hope someone can help me fix this problem.

Hi There !

I'm running Win 7 64bit but with changed default system font. I've modified system configuration so instead "Sagoe UI" (or something like this) - which Win 7 uses as default font, I'm using MS Sans Serif.

Everything worked well with all previous FF 4 betas (1-4) but since I've installed Beta 5 - Firefox started using Strange font (not Sagoe, not MS Sans) in menus (even Firefox text on this ugly Orange button is displayed with this strange font).

Not only menu and menu items but also; texts on tabs, texts used in settings, texts in About, address bar, search bar ... entire FF4b5 Interface. Pages are displayed correctly.

In FF4b4 - everything worked well and FF followed system font. Beta 5 messed this up.

Any ideas how to force FF 4b5 to follow Win7 settings?

As there is no 'About' panel in Firefox 4, I am unable to tell the current release level. How can I do this?

On the left is FF 4b5, with slightly blurry text on Lifehacker. On the right is Chrome 6.0.472.59 beta, without the blurry text.

I should note that the blurry text was not an issue in FF 4b4 or earlier.

I have also upgraded just now to 4b6, and the same issue is present.

When I installed the 4.0beta6 (from 3.6.9 or 10, I believe), it wiped out my personal toolbar. It seems I found an answer to restoring it once, but now I can't find it.

I am running Windows 7, and Firefox 4.0 Beta 6.

I recently turned off cleartype, but because Segoe UI is designed for it, I switched my default system font to Tahoma. Now all my fonts in all my programs are much clearer. There is only one program that didn't follow-suit, and that is firefox.

Figure 1 is an example of the font issues with firefox, figures 2 and 3 are examples of the same font displaying without any issues in Windows Explorer and IE. In figure 1, note how the vertical line letters such as 'i', 'k', and 'l' look terrible next to other letters, as in Edit and Tools.

Figures 4 and 5 are enlarged examples. The letters in the exact same word, 'Tools', using the same font, Tahoma, are all squished together in Firefox. It also appears the word is 3 or 4 pixels shorter in width, while being the same height. It is as if Firefox is trying to force a font size of 9, while the rest of my system uses 10.

In firefox 3.x I use a userChrome.css in, among other things, I hide the folder icons and the 'drop-down' "arrow" icon in order to reduce space used, with the following:

FF4 b6: Vertical 3-Finger swipe scrolls to top/bottom of page. FF4 b7: 3-Finger swipe up does nothing, down brings up the tab groups.

HOW DO I CHANGE IT BACK? is there anything i can do?

I have newest firefox beta, but i dont have that Firefox Button, Can i enable it somewhere? about:config or something?

On this same computer, but another account, there is that button, but on this user it wont showup

I am mostly fine with the changes in firefox 4.0b7, I get that urls are now shown in the URL abr on mouse over, loading progress is in the tab and right clicking the back button shows the list of sites.

What I can't figure out is how to show the progress of files being downloaded.

The status bar had a very simple indicator...showing the number of files and time remaining.

Is there any equivalent without having to have download manager open?

When I do a right click at the address bar, the menu doesn't appear, he stay invisible, and I don't see the options. The same occurs with firefox menu (print menu) and in the options (drop-down menus).
