This applies to the latest Firefox for Android version (this issue did not occur with the previous version). I manually closed my tabs and closed the Firefox app when I exit. However, when I open the app again, the previously closed tabs are there as if they were never closed. This is fixed if I delete browsing data but, obviously, this is not an ideal solution. I have tried to attach a short clip of this issue in action but it will not upload. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Any else seeing this lately?

1. **Navigation Issues**: Firefox fails to correctly navigate forwards or backwards through browser history. It often does not load the intended previous page, skips pages, or refuses to load a page entirely, requiring the user to close all tabs and manually re-enter the URL.

2. **Loading Issues with External Links**: When opening links from external applications (e.g., email clients), Firefox frequently fails to load the expected webpage. Sometimes, it does not load any page, or it loads to a blank or the home page despite the URL being visible and highlighted in the address bar.

Firefox has started hiding all tabs in a window except the active tab. This has happened in two different windows. I have no idea how to hide tabs and don't want to. How can I unhide the tabs. When I try to do it one by one, the first tab rehides when the 2nd one appears. Can I unhide multiple tabs at once? Do I have to unhide them one by one, and if so how? How do I stop Firefox from hiding tabs?

I accidentally deleted my history of opened tabs in Firefox (on Windows 10) by opening a new tab before opening the old tabs from the restore previous session-option. Can I access the old tabs?

When I select “history” (in the menu) and then “manage history”, I can choose “import and backup” and then “restore”. Then I get a number of dates that I perceive as restore points for tabs that were open at that particular time. One of these dates is the date with the tabs I want. Do I understand this correctly and can I access my accidentally closed window in this way?

When I select the date of interest, I get the message “This will replace all of your current bookmarks with the backup. Are you sure?”. I then click “OK”, but nothing happens.

I have been using Simple Tab Groups (STG) for a long time now. I am curious if putting tabs into groups saves any resources, i.e. is only the open group using resources (CUP/RAM), or is STG purely organizational in that all the tabs still use the same amount of resources as if they weren't grouped? If it is the latter, do you know of an add-on that would save resources? Thanks

The browser for android is excellent in a lot of ways, but I find it really irritating when I open the app and see tabs I already closed in my previous sessions open in the new session. You end up having to close the same tab multiple times because each time you leave the app and return, the tabs are automatically reopened. Sometimes as many as 2 or 3 previously closed tabs are reopened automatically whenever the app is opened next. I just find this quirk highly annoying and I wonder if there's a fix for this

After a recent update, maybe 95 or possibly 94, I've begun to experience a small but very annoying issue with using the URL/searchbar.

I'll usually just enter my query, e.g "test", but this now opens 2 tabs, 1. with the actual search result page and 1 tab that opens a new search result page. This happens when using different search engines. I've tried re-installing the app, clearing all cache, storage, removed my Firefox Sync account etc. with no changes.

I've recorded a video of the behaviour: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZLEZ2omVJaWXTEaM8

With the new Firefox for iPadOS, I can create a new tab, but there’s no mechanism for getting to it. The tabs at the top of the screen are gone, and there’s no button at the bottom of the screen as there is in iOS (I just checked). I can, of course, switch to the new tab immediately, but then I can’t go back to the old one. If there’s a way to switch tabs now, I can’t find it.

Hi, I have been using Firefox for many years now, but just recently it has annoyingly started to randomly scroll up or down. This may happen almost immediately, or it may only happen after a few minutes. This is extremely disconcerting when reading (for example) a large webpage or forum.

Initially I thought it was a faulty mouse. I tried swapping out the mouse, but then I discovered that even if I open the browser, scroll (using the scroll wheel on the mouse) partway down a page, and then immediately turn off both mouse and keyboard, it still randomly scrolls (usually up) after a few seconds. I have also tried to see if I can get any other application to do this, but no, it is definitely only Firefox.

A quick read online and somebody else mentioned "Enhanced mouse scroll" or something similar, but I think they are talking about a Windows "feature". I am running Ubuntu 20.04 64 bit with the latest version (98.0) of Firefox.

I have not changed any settings with my browser in recent times either, however there have been periodic Ubuntu updates, and this covers Firefox updates too. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Hello! My computer crashed recently ending my Firefox browsing session along with the 3 windows and likely close to 50 combined tabs I had open. Upon re-opening Firefox I'm pretty sure I clicked "Restore previous session" on the page that pops up with that prompt as I normally do expecting all previous windows and tabs to reappear, but for some reason it didn't load as usual and instead reloaded a new window saying that I'm on the latest version of Firefox with 1 additional blank homepage tab instead of my previous 3 windows with multiple tabs. In that new window the "Restore previous session" option from the menu bar was greyed out and nothing appeared in the "Recently closed windows" or "Recently closed tabs" areas. I ended the new window using the End Task feature in Task Manager and have not opened Firefox back up in hope of being able to recover the now 2 (or I guess 3 if the restore re-load is considered a new session) sessions ago windows/tabs.

I have tried 2 methods to get my previous tabs back: 1) sessionstore-backups subfolder in the Profiles folder - the recovery.jsonlz4/baklz4 are both from the newer blank tab session, the previous.jsonlz4 is from 2 months ago, and the upgrade.jsonlz4 files are also older from 2 months ago so none of those files have the data I'm looking for 2) ShadowExplorer to find an older version of the sessionstore-backups, but this too did not have helpful files from either the recovery/previous/upgrades file types after extracting and seeing only 3 tabs from the older session they logged

Before reopening Firefox again, is there any other method or attempt I should try to restore the now 2 sessions back 3 windows and their tabs? Any relevant help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

How to stop firefox from forcing a new tab for "new" web pages?

Apologies if this is a bit limited, during typing it I ran into the issue I'm about to describe which navigated me away from this page and lost all the progress of my post as I was wrapping up :')

The issue I'm having right now is Firefox forcibly opening pages it thinks are a new site in new tabs, despite the site itself not requesting new tabs or windows. Specifically this is happening with sites between different "iterations" of itself while still being the same and having fully integrated layouts and UI.

For example: Most pages on the site have an update "https://www1" prefix, but some pages have the old "https://" only. Firefox keeps opening new tabs when navigating between these different pages despite them being the same website. I know the pages themselves are not sending new tab requests because this doesn't happen in Chrome.

So far, my "solution" has been to go through about:config to adjust the browser.link.open_newwindow value to 1 instead of 3, which forces all links to stay within the same window. This unfortunately causes a whole host of other issues though.

Because its an override, it also means any links opened from an external program (like discord) forcibly open in the last active tab, navigating away from the page. This is obnoxious and annoying in and of itself because it means to save the tabs I already have open I need to manually open a new tab in FF before clicking any link, which I never remember to do. (Goodbye post progress (': )

If that weren't bad enough, when trying to hit the back button to get to the previous page FF ends up in some sort of weird redirection loop "between" pages, where the last page will disappear but FF won't navigate to the link it was trying to open either, so its just a blank infinitely loading page with the URL of the link that was opened. The only way to stop this from happening is to navigate back 2 pages, losing the current page, before it starts the redirect loop. If the loop starts before this happens, the tab locks up and needs to be hard-refreshed with f5 or completely closed due to the weird lag it causes.

Literally all I want Firefox to do here is not assume a new tab needs to be opened just because the URL "seems" different to it. Is there ANY way to get this behavior?

I'm on a Windows machine. In the past, when I clicked on a link in email, a new tab was opened in Firefox leaving existing tabs active. This has recently changed and now opens in the active tab.

I know about CTRL/Click, but this doesn't work from within Outlook.

I tried a hack in about:config, but found that everything opened in a new tab. For example when clicking on a search list within eBay, every click then opened a new tab. There seem to a lot of tab related config settings there, so I have done a reset to get FF back to its default behavior.

If there a way to open links in a new tab without forcing every click (say to the same domain) in a new tab?

Might this have something to do with the new container feature?
