I had set up a userContent.css file in the past to pull up and fetch an image on my computer to display as a background on the homepage. It worked and did it's job until recently, when I had recently relocated a lot of my files around on my computer. I have redirected everything to where I want it to look, including the userContent.css file to the new location for the image I want as the background. Firefox loads the .css file correctly, and recognizes the file existing, but it won't load the image itself for some odd reason. It states it "may not load or link the file" because of a security error, and thus, can't load the image. I never had to deal with this before. How can I get Firefox to be able to load my image like I want it to? I have screenshots that I can provide, but this site doesn't want to upload them at the moment.

This is so bizarre because it just started happening today.

Basically, I can't dismiss this one notification you see below. I can click on Dismiss or Dismiss All a hundred times and nothing happens.

I read on a thread from last year that another guy was having the same problem but he emphasized that it only happens with Zoom events. This reminder is a Zoom event so I wonder if it's related?

Any help would be appreciated!

When logging into my financial institutions website it reports back that I have version 91... of the Firefox browser installed and that it isn't supported. I actually have version 101.0.1 as reported by the browser itself. I called them and they asked me to check my version of Firefox by using www.whatismybrowser.com and it reports back that I'm running version 91. Can you help?

after a recent Thunderbird update was installed, it put up the create profile screen which I completed. I then discovered that the profile selection window was hidden behind the new profile window. I have 2 profiles wit thunderbird, 1 for my wife's account and 1 for mine. and select as appropriate when starting thunderbird. However I cannot access my old profile and all my folders no longer show up. I have searched and found the folder that I think has all my folders but cannot bring them up in Thunderbird. How can I get these into the new profile? My wife's profile works fine.

I am migrating to a new machine running Windows 11 (from old one with Windows 10) and have installed Thunderbird and Chrome as default apps. The only thing that is not working is clicking on a hyperlink in a message. I have read the article addressing this issue and tried all the suggested fixes. None work. When I click on a hyperlink in a message body, it just ignores me. If I right click on the link and choose open in browser from the pop-up, it ignores me. It does not matter what the type of link is. If it is a PDF, it does not open in the browser despite that being the default action for PDFs. More importantly, if it is just a link in a message (e.g., tracking info from Amazon), it does not do anything. I have looked at the setups on both machines and they seem identical. But what works under Windows 10 is not working under Windows 11. (As a computer scientist, I understand that there are a lot of variables in play here.)

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to get past this. Copy and paste is not the end of the world, but I would expect more consistent behavior.

Thunderbird now uses SQLITE data base files for Address Books. I'd like to copy an address book to another computer for use with Thunderbird there. How does Thunderbird recognize that a given SQLITE file is an address book? Is it solely based upon the file name (to the left of the .SQLITE porition of the name) beginning with the string "abook"? Is there something else in some configuration file that maintains this notion? Are there multiple files associated with a given address book? For example, I see these files in my profile directory: abook.sqlite abook.sqlite-shm abook.sqlite-wal So, I'm guessing the answer to that last question is Yes.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

This question has to do with logging into web sites with an email and a password. Firefox 101.0.1 (64-bit). Windows 10.

On many sites, when I click in the email field, a drop down list of email addresses appears from which I can make a selection using the mouse or up/down arrow keys. Some web sites have as few as two email addresses in the drop down list, others have many more. I recall that one site has about fifteen email addresses in the drop down list.

How can I remove a non-applicable email address from the drop down list?

How can I clear the drop down list of all email addresses?

Thanks.

I've just had my browsing interrupted with this recommendation to install an extension: https://torrent-protection.com/download-now/

I was viewing this page: https://www.eurogamer.net/with-the-new-ps-plus-premium-and-extra-sony-opts-for-the-car-boot-sale-approach-to-catalogue-gaming

I was taken out of the page without pressing anything and taken to this recommendation. In particular, it appears like an official Firefox message and security recommendation, with Firefox suggesting I should install this extension for my security. Sadly I don't have a screenshot but it's happened twice this morning already.

Is this really Firefox endorsed? Or are they pushing their extension with fake credentials? How is the page viewing interrupted this way and diverted automatically to another webpage?

However, if I restart TB 91.10.0 (32-bit) for any reason the panel always comes back (Win 10 Home) and I have to turn it off again. It never used to do this; instead TB remembered my preference.
